Hello sir. Two questions. 1: what are your Spanish credentials?  not that it's super important 3: have you looked through the posts here yet? Currently we've finished all of the chapter titles and translated the first hundred pages. And I need your email (pm me please) to add you to the googledoc 1. Spanish credentials? Where do I come from? I don't understand (might be the time -.-) 3. I did, but I took a quick look at the thread. Sorry if I skipped something important, I'll re-read it. About the e-mail, I've sent you a personal message. he means how do you know spanish? i mean i come from argentina (spanish speaking country) thats why i know spanish that well. though i always miss my accents ha.haha.ha the thig is i know english pretty well so i understand most of it. i even have half my bookcase in english. I'm from Argentina as well! Though I feel weird talking in spanish in an english-based forum. I know some english-based forums where non-english speaking is forbidden.

Also, I've found some inconsistences between the already translated pages, so I've proposed some changes. I hope to have done things as told by in the first page. Here are them with my changes. I'm using Gimp for page editing. We have translated the first two hundred pages (and well, if I do say so myself), but we've had little luck with the image editing. Could you insert the words we have into the pages?
I linked you to the 200-page googledoc earlier, but you might not have seen it.EDIT: wait no, I see you've viewed the doc. By 'translated' do you mean 'edited the images'? In which case, no. If you could do that, it would be amazing. The ones you already did are great; kudos on the white explanatory text for Shadow's speech. Do you wish to add them for the diagram of the Court/Forest/Waters/Bridge as well? Also, the title text page looks great, though the í in Capítulo looks...off. It's also worth mentioning that this font www.dafont.com/search.php?q=livingstone implicitly supports accents and looks very similar to A&W. We should probably use that. (Also, if you could save a copy of each page without any text at all, which obviously is created during the process, that would be great because we could give it to the other translators of other languages. This is unnecessary for the first 100 pages, but worth mentioning here anyway.) If you don't mind, we might want to keep the translations the way they already are (not the least because it's too much work to reach a new agreement on each of the changes), but any suggestions are appreciated on newer pages or between the choices we had already given in green. Also, Annie does not use 'tú' at all in the beginning for a reason. No need to correct that it fixes itself in the course of the plot. (Also, not your fault, but your addition screwed up the spacing, putting the pages out of order bah I'll fix that) |

The GD doc is pretty huge at this point. May I suggest creating a folder in GD and then creating a doc per chapter (not per page, that may be too much)? Folders can be shared the same way as single documents, and you don't even need to assign permissions to each file.
EDIT: Perhaps I'm using an old version (in which case, if there's a new version, someone should post it and we would thank it =)) but Spirit Medium and Ale & Wenches don't support the spanish language's features such as acuted vowels and tilded n (á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ, and their uppercase variants; I'm also afraid it doesn't support the umlaut variants as well, some specific -yet common- spanish words use ü)

Neon_Knight: if you send them to me, I'll put them in the Googledoc as well. I have now split the translation into chapters; hopefully you can reach them all. Should make it easier. It did screw up the spacing a bit though...I'll fix that.

Just came in for an update.
I've fixed Chapter 1-Page 1 after creating another set of special characters, this time for Spirit Medium. Also redid the whole page.
Also started with Chapter 2, at the moment, only the title page is ready.
Unfortunately, I forgot my work in another PC, in a far house, and I cannot go there (or continue my task) until next Thursday. -.-

Update from the translating side: Chapter 12 is about 1/2 done, though it still needs revisions. We need to check over Zimmy's accent and standardize it, and come to agreement on all remaining green patches. If no agreement is made on the green sections by the time you ( Neon_knight) gets to putting them into pages, you can choose whichever you think is better (or fits in the bubble itself). And I apologize for my neglect of the project recently; I should be back soon. |

I owed you an update, so here it is! I've finished three chapters in a single weekend! Here's a convenient .cbz file with chapters 1-4 completely translated. I still find it weird that in your translations Annie always refers to characters younger than her to "usted*" instead of "tú*", but well, I've used "usted". Also I've decided to use neutral spanish instead of Spain-based spanish (Paz still uses Gallego ). Spain-based spanish ("vosotros") isn't used everywhere. in Latinamerica, for example, we use the "ustedes" conjugation. KNOWN ISSUES: - Missing acutes and tildes in some pages. - I haven't downloaded the font for the title of the bonus page from Chapter 4. So what's there is a workaround by now. - Should I start to paint the bubbles? Because in order to work with those pages I had to empty the content of the speech bubbles, including the backgrounds. Next time I get to the PC I'm working the translation with I shall work on this. Anyway, I'll wait for the feedback. |

Just passing by to post an update.
Real Life has been keeping me busy, what with all the moving drama preventing me from connecting myself to the 'Net and my netbook dying. :S
Yeah, too much. Fortunately, the HD was saved, and I got a little container for it, so I can use it as an external HD on other PCs. Trouble is, well, there are some soldation problems to be solved with it. :/
Anyways, I'm not going to abandon ship.

I kind of ran into GKC a couple of months ago, began reading, stopped sleeping for about a week, finished reading; and, you bet, I loved it. So for a while now I've been coming here for Tom's updates and, little time ago, I found this topic in the forums. So I've been thinking about it and, being from Spain myself, I've decided that I could be useful for this translating project.
So, let's say, tell me a chapter that needs being translated, the font I should use and whatever else you think I should know, and I'll be willing to give it a try and show you the outcome so you guys can tell me what you think about it.

The project! IT LIVES!!!I've done 35 pages in the last two days, and I plan to work on it nightly now that the semester is over. Currently on page 484, but I want to finish to page 1000 by the end of the summer, if possible.
