Ok maybe gassing your girlfriend DOES work. Also, Ick: Why does that make me think if the infallible pick-up line "Does this rug smell like chloroform to you?"

Interesting study of the [regular time period]:
According to certain research, humans actually tend to find others more attractive after exposure to apparent danger.
So... there's that in effect I guess.
Also: awwww... so sweet

Jeez, did people really react like that? I had no idea! It's all politics, played out in miniature. I do respect Tom for taking a stance on such a controversial issue, saying that this a lesbian relationship is totally fine between major characters here. At least, with the information we currently have. People were real jerks about it. In ways that they wouldn't have been had it been Kat x Jack or something equally super creepy (ew seriously Jack what). I think the best way to see it, as with all things of this kind, is as if Kat and Paz are just two characters regardless of their gender/sexual orientation- which evidently was too difficult for some people LAUGHING ON LINE. What is a 'lesbian relationship'? Is that like 'being gay with someone' who is also 'a gay'? What is that ?! Also, I'm fairly sure that Paz herself, and KatxPaz will actually be relevant to the plot.

So one week we're talking about airlifting the commenters from their island to ours, then a couple later it's this? ..Ok Just noticed the way Paz gave back the lab coat in that panel, after Kat was putting on the whole waitress act. It's the little things.

It's the little things. That's assuming that 'the commenters' are all one unchanging group of people, which they aren't, I guess. On a related note I was going to talk about how... I feel like being from an Anglophone country, the Anglophone type of culture where people are generally a bit repressed about their feelings compared to other cultures often leads to Kat type awkwardness! I admire that people from some other parts of the world are more open about their feelings (like Paz)

And yeah, I guess the Court must be a pretty culturally diverse place, especially going by the assumption that they search around and bring people in (see: Zimmy). Makes for interesting interactions (and then some, looking at events like this chapter)

I guess I was living under a rock were everybody was okay with lesbians. Now I've moved out into the real world, and I'm not sure I like it.
I wonder if the haters are misinterpreting Tom's intentions? I'm sure many less talented comic creators throw in lesbians in their stories for no reason except that they think it's hot or because they want more page views or whatever. This is clearly not the case here. Tom knows what he's doing and is handling this as expertly as he does with everything in GC.

What's really happening in today's strip: Paz is about to get attacked by a ghost clown tree-hugger sneaking up on her. Kat spots the menace in panel six, but cannot warn Paz because her lips are sealed.

First, I have to say : GNIIIIIIIIIIIH !!! FINALLY ! \o/ HOURRAY !!! Then, I wasn't aware of the silly comments (the many silly comments, according to the video...), but I knew this would displeased some of the readers. I was even surprised (happily, of course) that on this forum, all of you seemed to be comfortable with the idea of to girls dating together. But who cares what the haters think ?... They should pass over their hate to see that it is just love. And Kat is not a lesbian, by the way, she most probably is bisexual, or even pansexual. And I can't wait to see the two of them as the time goes by, being a couple for real, and doing great science things together !

That's not a fair assessment of things past at all. Anytime *anything* is about to happen in Gunnerkrigg, you get tons of speculations that it cannot be the case, that something else completely different will happen, that were will be a twist, etc. *Always*, for *any single thing*.
So of course it happened for KatxPaz.

Awwww!!! Nicely handled! I was totally caught off guard by Paz. Bravo Dear! Dunno what all the hoopla and worrying was about, it was handled tastefully and sweet. Warm Fuzzy dance! I greatly wait Kat's reaction. I imagine she'll be all flush and full of grins or perhaps startled when Annie is standing there. Though Annie is the most obvious choice. This is Tom likes curve balls, so I could imagine any combination of people. Like her Mom and Dad and Jones. Jones just standing would be amusing. Because SHE of anyone could care less. If it's Annie she'll either be all. "Well it's about time!" or "Oh wow, well sure." or more likely just oblivious all together and it's business as usual because it's REALLY not that big a deal. I'd be disappointed if she had a issue with it. Even more so if she were jealous honestly. All in all, now that the drama is over "possibly" I think things will settle down now and return to our regularly scheduled program. or any combination of their friends.

I don't think this kind of relationship is all right, but I'm not a hater; I have friends who are homosexual, and while I don't approve of their morals in this particular regard, I still like them as people and interact with them normally. I just wanted to say that not all of the forum members are "ok" with this type of relationship; that does not mean we hate people who have these types of relationships. That said, I also recognize that Tom is not doing this to get more page views, and I am curious and looking forward to seeing what he does with it!

At least, with the information we currently have. I wouldn't say he's "taking a stance," but rather just doing what for him is a natural part of the progression of characters and plot. And that's why it works: he's not soapboxing (or at least it doesn't seem to be his intention). It's just what the story calls for and he'll do it, politics be damned.

I will never understand why homosexual relationsships wouldn't be all right. My philosophy in life is that everything is okay as long as it doesn't hurt anybody. So I'll do what you do, and accept you as a person though I'm not "ok" with your opinion. Accepting is a lot better than hating!

Nobody seemed to get upset when Andrew started dating George. That's because Parley is a girl. Or were you referring to her father?

Also, I'm fairly sure that Paz herself, and KatxPaz will actually be relevant to the plot. It already has. The biohybrid robot project is set back a few weeks. I'm pretty sure the seraphs aren't impressed by this, especially if the find out why the very first limb test was ruined. :-)
