Your Ysengrin sounds kind of like the Honey Monster.

Man, I had to look that one up. I see what you mean though, my voicing was just a little lower and much angrier. You brits, always messing up my auditions. I was actually going for a voice similar to www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FS60iN0g2I, but with an angrier sound with a bit more of a growl to it.

Is there any need for a girl who has a slight southern American accent? Heh Probably not but I'd thought I'd ask.

We might find a part for you. Especially when we do the redneck versions of the some of the chapters.

He's kidding. We're not doing redneck versions of some chapters. Sand, shut it. If you want to audition, go ahead. Don't worry about what your accent is. What matters is whether or not people like your voice and whether they think it fits with the character you're auditioning for. Think of it this way: If you don't audition, you're -guaranteed- not to get the part. Right?

It's not like I'm drinking moonshine and waving the Rebel flag or anything. I was thinking about auditioning, but I'd have to buy a microphone and I sort of wanted to see if there was a part I would be more inclined to get, you know? I don't want to waste the money, but I do want to be apart of this project.

Somebody... I want to say it was FuzzyOne but now I'm not sure... once had a strong suggestion.
Re-read the comic. But read it out loud. As you're doing so, as you hear yourself voicing the characters, see if there's anyone that jumps out at you as being fun to do, and fitting, etc. Don't overlook things like robots in later chapters... as far as I'm concerned robots can be females too.
If you're thinking about a human female role, here are the parts that haven't been chosen yet:
Ch 14 - Parley, Jones
Ch 15 - Green Fairy and Brown Fairy (bonus page)
Ch 16 - Mallt-y-nos
Ch 18 - Catty Girl 1 and 2
Ch 22 - Brynhildr
These are the chapters in which they first appear, in case you wanted to skip ahead to them.

Wow, those two parley auditions are really, really good, but I think I'll try out for ol' George as well. These are all so good, I love Wombat's Red audition. On the youtube page for Muut's audition, I believe there is a second one that is lower? I actually liked the higher one, but that's just me.

Here's a Parley audition! www.megaupload.com/?d=7HCRRR0PI may redo this at a later time, but I had to be done for now. There is at least one sound in there, which was a result of me accidentally hitting something. I did anchor the mic on something so I wasn't holding it, though. Also, please pardon my pathetic attempt at an accent. ): I know it probably sounds weird/inconsistent...

Hee hee, very good. I've been waiting for someone to audition using one of the more recent chapters.
Your accent wasn't too bad but was still pretty obviously not yours. Try using your own accent - you'll probably be able to get more emotion into your voice because it'll come more naturally.

Yes, but my own accent is, um... American... ): So? General consensus is that if you can do a voice that isn't your own then great, but we wouldn't worry too much about it. I would do one in your normal accent as well, if only to give people something to compare your first audition to. If it makes you feel better, Casey is our Eglamore using his normal voice, and he's American.

Hey there. Interested in trying out for Jack... At present, I would actually really just like to hear people's opinions on how my delivery is and if there's any necessity to shoot for a thicker accent/inflection (I know it slips at some point near the end). Personally, I think I'm coming off too upbeat at the wrong moments, but it's kinda hard for me to interpret the character properly...I'm an actor myself in real life, so I'm far more used to having other characters and physicality to work with and bounce off, and a director, so apologies if it isn't the best I could produce. But really, would just love to hear any criticisms or comments; and sorry for not trying to get it onto YouTube, my net's capped and I don't want to have to run the malarkey gauntlet on getting a YouTube video working properly at this damned speed. Which is why it's a .wav file in a .rar folder...7 megabytes being uploaded at like 5 kb/s... Yeah. --- www.megaupload.com/?d=JIC007PF--- Thanks! p.s. I did so many re-takes because I kept laughing at the 'wolf' line. Something about it gets me.

Pariah I've added your audition to the master list. Thanks for your submittal!
I'd like to make a note though for anyone who posted an audition to a file-place such as megaupload. I have no idea how long a place like that will host your file, but you need to make sure that your audition is residing somewhere that it won't get removed, or the URL changed, for a long long time. I'm not going to be starting up new voting rounds for chapters beyond what I've already gotten chosen, until we near completion of the chapters I've already got. And since we're still stalling out on scheduling issues in the first chapter, it might be a while. So you need to make sure that link that works today, is still going to work months from now.

I'm fairly certain that the particular upload method I used will keep it permanent, but if this turns out not to be the case I will be sure to seek an alternative.

Also as a perpetual reminder to ALL auditioners, but especially the newer ones:
It is perfectly okay to submit more than one audition for the same part, if you have different takes on it or otherwise want to give people more to go on.

Um... Okay, so technically this isn't an audition. But it resulted from my -trying- to do an audition. Uploaded to my own account because I didn't know if it would be appropriate to put it on the official project channel, I give you all, the very first Gunnerkrigg Court Gag Audition... Wimpy Doctor Disaster!!!Dun dun duuuuunnnn... dun! Before anyone asks, no, I do not know what I was smoking or where you can get some. Edit: Tried doing Ysengrin. Throat hurts now. Sounded sort of like Rorshach or something (which is weird because I never really pictured him sounding like he did in the movie, but I digress). Anyway, may upload later, just to get some feedback, though I'm not sure I know how to do it much differently from how I have been. I suppose I could growl more before I start recording to get into character. Possibly not whisper into the mike for all the lines, but that's sort of how I pictured him talking. An actual retake of Dr Disaster is in the works as well, possibly later today while I have the house to myself and can yell like a maniac. I tried a few bits and threw them out for not being good enough, but upon reflection they were still an improvement on my original take.

That actually reminds me of an "audition" I almost uploaded after I failed to get cast as Rey using all the scrap lines I didn't use. Some of them were terribly bad and some were kind of funny, but just before I finished I got too embarrassed and deleted it all... I'm still kind of attached to my "Dark Lord Reynardine the Silly Piggy" lines and may yet use them somewhere though

Cool, I only joined the forums recently because I wanted to participate in the fan project. It's such a cool idea. I want to audition for a bunch of roles so you'll probably be seeing some more from me once I have my recorder on a more regular basis and don't have to lend it anymore.

Kind of a neat idea. I wanted to actually get something more in the way of voice acting. Acting major and I can do a fairly decent British dialect depending on the region. Manchester accent still gets me sometimes. Just wish I had the equipment for it because I'd submit my voice for Coyote in a heartbeat.

Added to the Master List.
As long as the audition is somewhere on the Internet, it's good to go. In order for it to be uploaded to the GKCFP account, you would need to email it to me. If you still want to go this route, send me a PM. Otherwise though you're all set already.
