By the way, who should I send my audiofiles to? I don't know how to work with editing programs ... *fail* (Also, I know someone who might be able to lend a hand with the non-voice acting side of things if needs be. She seems to like the comic and is familiar with this sort of stuff . She's already been giving me some pointers on how to use my voice and stuff like that and it's been really helpful. She made me realize my first shot at Kat wasn't all that great and I'll be retaking that part again when I get the chance :/.) (edited to take out spelling errors... sometimes, I fail at spelling...)

Oooh! ;D I would definitely have a go at Parley. She has a british accent, right? I can do a great one even though I come from the land of Oz. I don't have a microphone, my computer has a self-recording thing a ma bob. I will find the name out. I do know that it saves as mp3s. Thanks! EDIT: Was I a little late to jump onto the bandwagon? ? Has Parley been chosen?

There've been no Auditions for Parley. Audition away.

All the auditions have been amazing so far! I'd love to have a go at Coyote as soon as I find someway to record myself. I'm definitely not any kind of American, however, whether North, South or Native.
That second version of Boxbot kind of hurts my ears, very piercing. I like the cute voice though.

What exactly should Coyote sound like anyway? I've been inserting the Joker's voice (from Batman) when I read the Coyote parts...

Are the names on the front page of this final? I just found this comic less than a week ago and want to try out for something, and was curious if it would just be a waste of my time to try out for any of those parts.

Those names aren't final but they're the ones that sound the best so far. You can still audition as there's about another month to go.

We're far from final. We've got about a month to go.

That's basically what I'll go for when I get round to it, except I'm from Surrey which is about as English as you can get; so imagine if Mark Hamill was English and that's what it'll sound like. Hopefully.

That's actually quite funny! A native American god sounding English!

I think I will make a try for Coyote just from seeing that short video... I'm pretty good at psychotic laughter. That said, I think this video can help with voicing it...

After spending so long lurking, this thread is the reason I've finally joined the forum...D:
Time to dust off my mic. ^_^;;
Edit: Oh, and is it better to submit all the auditions in one file, or a separate file for each character? I'll probably be auditioning for a lot, and I don't want to flood the YT account or anything, but I assume that having separate files would make things easier to find.

I can send you the password. And it would probably be best to send the auditions in seperate files.

Dear doods:
While I can't audition at the moment (mic's dead), I would like to extend my help for this project. As it turns out I'm a theatre performance major, and I'm pretty damn good at it.
I can pretty much sub in as a voice/acting coach. I do like the voices that have been chosen so far for the characters, I just think they could be a little more "honest," natural even.
So yeah, if my elitist advice is wanted I'll be glad to dish it up for you guys.

That would definitely be helpful. I'm going to be handling most of the music as that's pretty much all I'm good at.

The closest I've come to something like this is a fairly brief history of acting, and mostly assigning voices to the parts I've played. I was 8 different roles, 5 with speaking lines in my school's production of "Annie Get Your Gun". That was mostly just various pitches with an accentuated Southern Accent, going for a Texas sound mostly. I've never had to affect a British accent, though I've done that, Australian, Scottish, Irish... Mostly just because I like to do voices. I've been practicing my accent since My name popped up on the first post... I've also done a brief sampling of Donald Donlan, using a Scottish accent. I held off on posting it... I'm trying to get a good recording done for something that Meagan was working on...
As I've said, I don't want to toss outa whole bunch of Auditions for every male part... but The characters are so vivid, each and every one of them would be fun to do.From the Macho Eglamore, the Nerdy Donald, Angry Ysengrin, Insane Coyote, William, John, Dr. Disaster, even Jack, Basil and the one-shot teachers... each would offer a bit of fun in their own right. So I don't want to go overboard on putting up a voice for each of them... but Each of them have a voice in my head.

I uploaded some auditions for Paz, Parley (and Andrew), and Jones. I'm really not sure if I'm any good at all, but hopefully you guys find them useable?

Actually, found my mic. I'll be posting some sample lines (can't find a good enough chunk for a monologue) here soon. As for my pointers (and this goes for all the recordings I've heard so far): I like your voices. But none of you are being natural enough. Forget you're acting. Just speak like you would in everyday context. Try not to exaggerate much. Honesty goes a long way, if you can understand my meaning? For reference: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Evz-Nuec_UHere is a great two actor scene. I mean obviously this is Daniel Day Lewis so it's a high standard, but he is a very natural actor. Neither of them are pushing or exaggerating, just talking like two men would. www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8h8mOe1c5I&feature=relatedThis is a bad monologue. While it is simply a long winded definition, her choice to make it all sound like a dictionary reading was poor and makes it slow and boring. She also has very little energy (not hyper energy, per-se, just energy). Most of her inflections (sounds of lines at the end) go up, making even regular statements sound like questions. It is also very forced. This is an example of acting to avoid. This is just a very basic example, but some tips I'll give you before I break out into a full acting workshop: - Try standing up when you read the lines. Act them out. - Make choices! You can never be wrong (unless your director tells you so, of course). - Observe popular actors. Don't imitate them, obviously, but see how they try and incorporate real world personalities and choices into their roles. - If there are repeating lines or lists, try to mix them up so they sound different. Also, pick where you're going to change inflections and emphasis on words for more dynamics. Does this all make sense? I hope so. Also I think it will be very helpful as the project moves on for the actors to comment and criticize each other. The best advice you can get will come from your fellow actors, I've learned. EDIT: And sorry if that is too much, and I didn't post enough positive. Like I said, so far I think the voices picked are really good for their respective roles.

Andrew was voiced by a very good friend of mine. He and I like to do stuff like this for fun. Hey that's a nice Parley... now I can't seem to think of her any other way. I expect I would love that so much more if I knew what Samus sounded like. Unfortunately I only have the odd "Hup!" and various other noises from Smash Bros to go on.
I fear I am coming down with a cold, so I will try to get my Coyote audition up before I am completely incapacitated. However, it is half 4 in the morning right now, so not at this precise moment...
