I've been thinking about that. When you're ready to start the minor arcana, a new thread would be nice. Whoever organizes it (not me) could then keep the first post up to date. I'd also suggest to require everybody who participates to give permission for uploading their card to DA. It'd have made things much easier if we had done that for the major arcana.

Pre-emptively giving you permission to put any of my Minor Arcana cards onto DeviantArt. I might do a few, if I've got the time. I'm going to do at least one, but there's so many I reckon we'll all have to do at least two. I'm glad people are liking my ideas. It makes me happy I'd like to reiterate though that nobody has to use them. They're just what I see what I try to put the card into the GKC universe. If you have your own ideas then go ahead, I'm sure they'll look better than mine. Ok I'll go do Coins now.

I am not sure who is going to take the steering wheel on the Minor Arcana, but if a new thread is started I would recommend a full list of the cards and a character to go with them. Ulysses's is good but maybe some of the notes are a little long - the Major Arcana was done with just a name of a character for each card, and everyone was able to research the card and come up with a way to translate it to a Gunnerkrigg setting by themselves very well. Also: I didn't post it on my DeviantArt page because some people who watch that might be a LEETLE confused about me putting up a tarot Card, since I happen to be a Christian. I'm a Christian too, but I don't see any problem in doing a drawing in the style of a tarot card. I didn't even know anything about tarot cards until I found this project. I am surprised to hear that people who watch your DeviantArt would be confused - it is just a harmless drawing after all!

Tea leaves were used in the Middle Ages for "divination" as well, but that never has stopped Christians from drinking the stuff. Tarot cards are just playing cards from the Middle Ages. People back then looked at all sorts of stuff for "portents". Doesn't make the cards in any way occult or non-Christian. In point of fact, the traditional images you see on the trionfi cards (what new age people call the "Major Arcana" are old allegorical imagery.

I am aware of this. I also know that There were 'portents' mentioned in the Bible. IE, The Star seen by the Wise men proclaiming the birth of Christ was not the Bright, illuminating star we associate with Christmas. if it were, they wouldn't have had to question the Magi as to when and where the star showed up. They would have known. Instead, it was the motion of the stars in the sky that indicated this event. And yet, I know people who've called Astrology an evil thing. I've also known people who put a tremendous amount of faith in what the Cards 'say', in the order in which they come out and are revealed. To be honest, not many people watch my DeviantArt account. But Rather than open a door for questions, I decided to Err on the side of caution. I didn't say that *I* thought Tarot cards were evil. If I did, I certainly wouldn't have gotten involved in the project. I consider them more a point of curiosity than anything else.

You make a good point. You're more thinking of what others might wonder.
It's a shame that some people see them as more than just playing cards though. Poor innocent playing cards never hurt nobody.

I agree with you there. I wasn't criticising you fuzzyone, just to be clear. I was simply saying pretty much what Casey said - that it surprised me anyone would see them as 'evil' or for a Christian drawing one to be a bad thing.
I just drew mine because I thought it'd be fun!

Hey guys! I feel like a complete idiot for letting this forum fall by the wayside- I still follow the comic like a crazyperson, and I'd love to help out with a Minor Arcana set.
I give my permission completely for posting Strength and any future cards on DA.

I was thinking maybe you can filter through the cards each week as a featured piece of art on the top of the page. Kind of like how we put up our favorite works on our own page... that way everyone's cards can be looked at at least once or twice on the front page.
I think we should filter them every week though so that not one person has too much time unless they get filtered a second time through.
And I think we should start in the order of the cards... so Antimony as the Fool would be a good first one to show in the featured area.
I posted this in Deviantart as well in a note.
