That's exactly my confusion. Aren't they both about defeating/controlling great forces with strength of will?

So has this project died off? I hope not, as I have been watching it grow since my days a lurker and would love to see it completed. I might even try drawing a card myself, although I have never drawn anything so complex before.
Therefore I am bumping this thread up in the hope newer people will see it and contribute. If it really has been abandoned it'll disappear off the first page soon enough anyway.

It's not abandoned, it is finished.. well parts of it. I say: Take whatever card is not done yet. Everybody has had enough time to finish their card and it'd be unfair to keep everybody waiting.

Considering how long it's been, everyone who signed up to do a card has had plenty of time to finish. So just claim one of the ones that hasn't been finished yet.
P.S. Your avatar is hypnotic.

Okay I have planned out a Kat the Magician card... now I just hope I can actually draw it!

Best I could do. If someone who actually knows what they are doing would like to clean it up a bit and/or colour it, send me a message and I'll give you a link to it full-size!

I like all the things you chose to put on the table, especially the symbols in the lower right.

Oh, Mishmash, you are going WAY back with some of your symbology there! Your Magician resembles the one from the Marseilles deck much more than the Ryder/Waite deck. ( The wikipedia article shows both.) And yet at the same time it is distinctly modern and distinctly Gunnerkrigg. Excellent concept.

I think I'll try making The Fool card if no one else is. Could someone please tell me how to post an image directly into a post? I can't for the life of me figure that out.

Mezzaphor awesome, i'll get on that. I think i'm going to aim at The Devil-Coyote, and use my own set of Tarot cards to take notes from (I have a Robin Wood deck).

Are they all done then? I'm not really into tarot and all that, but I do like to mess about sketching. Are there any left?

All of them have been claimed, but a large number of those claimed haven't been finished. So the unfinished ones are fair game for someone new to take a stab at.

Coolio, I might do some sketching later. Be warned, I'm not exactly an artist, but I still have fun doodling.
Are the Minor Arcana on the *ahem* cards too? Granted there's a lot of them, but if this is to be done, it may as well all be done. As an example I'll take the Swords suit, because there's loads of swords in GKC. - The training swords would be on the majority of the swords, because they're just the bog-standard sword. Two of Swords, for example, could have the scene where Parley and Misc. Male Student train. - Eglamore's glowy, shadow-killing sword - Ace of Swords? - Eglamore's giant sword - King of Swords, perhaps? - Jeanne's long sword - Queen of Swords.
That's just some suggestions.

Alright I'm done The Fool card. I plan on adding a few more things to it, but I didn't want to delay any longer, so here it is: Don't hesitate to give any criticisms, I depend on that stuff. Edit: I had to make a quick fix to the drawing right after I scanned it. It is now up to personal standards

A word of advice to people scanning in pencil sketches: after scanning, decrease the brightness of the image. It makes the pencil stand out more. You can then increase the contrast to get rid of the grey background, or just use white fill. For example, here's a quick result for death. Looks better no?

I've done Judgement. I just need to scan it in at the library (my scanner doesn't work ) which will probably be tomorrow.

I love the how adorable Renard looks in the Fool card, along with Annie's determined expression. And the cheeky Coyote in the Heirophant card is a nice touch!
So if Judgement is done but just not scanned in yet does that mean we only need four more cards to be done? How exciting.

Wow I forgot all about this thread. I like the Coyote looks in the Heirophant, you nailed his expression perfectly. Also the glass-eyed shadow is a nice touch. And thanks for the compliment Mishmash, though I would say Rey looks more curmudgeonly than anything.

I had to look up curmudgeonly but now I have learned what it means I'd have to agree! Thing is I always find Rey cute in his plushie form, whether he is being curmudgeonly or not. You captured him well.

I may have misplaced my completed Judgement card... I'll be unpacking from uni all day so hopefully it will turn up.
Can I ask again whether the Minor Arcana are *ahem* on the cards? That is, should we start designing them, coming up with ideas etc? Because I had some ideas, as mentioned in my above post.

We should finish the major arcana. On the other hand: If someone suddenly started a project for the minor arcana, I don't think anybody would stop him/her.

Ulysses -- Not for now. The primary goal is to create a deck of the major arcana. If we finish that we can move on to the minor arcana.
