I thought I'd come up with some ideas for the Minor Arcana. Feel free to use or abuse them how you like, I just wanted to note them down somewhere.
SwordsAce - Eglamore's glowing sword, or possibly his massive sword.
Two - Parley
Three - Three of the training swords piercing a heart? I can't think of anything better. Perhaps they could be piercing not -a- heart, but piercing someone through the heart. Don't know who though.
Four - Seraph 1. Perhaps instead of the window it could be the entrance to Jeanne's shrine.
Five - Parley and Smitty? Ignore the 3rd person in the picture. Rather than see Smitty walking away I think just have him standing there looking dejected. And Parley can be laughing maniacally ;D Or maybe not.
Six - Apparently it's about long journeys and passage from pain, so this should probably be Muut, although what he'd be doing pushing a boat full of swords I have no idea.
Seven - Smitty. He's been asked to collect the swords after practice and is having difficulty
I know the card's about being stealthy etc. but I love the image of Smitty struggling under a load of swords.
Eight - This should probably be either Jeanne (because she's trapped too) or Annie (because she'd look good in this card).
Edit: It could also be Rey - he's trapped, under Annie's controlNine - Eglamore's woken up after having a nightmare. Or maybe it should be Jack, given recent events.
Ten - Do, uh...do we know anyone that's been stabbed ten times? It could always be Bullbot, I suppose.
Page - It's got to be Parley.
Knight - Thorn on his Rogat Orjak.
Queen - Jones, but rather than the sword being held it should be leaning against the throne, unused, because Jones doesn't need a sword.
King - Should probably be Eglamore, but I can't help thinking someone else would fit better.
WandsAce - I really want this to be the wooden arm in the top of the hill. With some cloud to make it less boring.
Two - Diego.
Three - Really not sure about this one. Given that it's about trade perhaps it should be Aly (exchanging one existence for another...yeah, I know) but I've not really got anything on this one.
Four - I'm thinking it should look somewhat similar to
the last panel here, with the wands marking the edge of the Forest and the Court in the background, but that's not really got anything to do with the meaning of the card.
Five - It's a fight that isn't real. This says 'training' to me, perhaps with Parley, Smitty and some others before they were allowed real swords.
Six - Mobilisation of forces = Ysengrin and some woodland critters. Ignore the horse (unless Ysengrin ate it ;D)
Seven - A strong and firm, yet rather stressed-out guy? Sounds like Eglamore to me.
Eight - It's just a load of sticks. Put the Court and Forest in the background to make it GKC based.
Nine - Order and discipline? Should probably be Smitty. He likes order. Also the guy's got a bandage round his head, which probably means that Parley hit him
Ten - Someone who can't see past their obligations? I'd suggest Anthony, but we only know what he looks like as a child.
Page New beginnings, exploration, element of fire? Ought to be Annie.
Knight - Reading the entry brought Kat to mind, with hints of Annie.
Queen - I think it should be Anja - "embodies nurturing, feminine, inwardly-focused and embracing personality."
King - The meaning suggest Eglamore, but I get the feeling he's going to appear quite a lot, so I'll suggest Donny as an alternative.
CupsAce - No people here, but perhaps a Tic-Toc perched on top of the cup
Two - Pick your couple. Parley & Smitty, Surma & Eglamore, Willy & Janet, John & Margo, Zimmy & Gamma, whoever.
Three - Perhaps three from the original group, Surma etc. The only trio I can think of is Coyote, Ysengrin and Rey, and I guess they could be used as well.
Four - Someone under the Cherry Tree. Bob maybe ;D Or bring in another person and have Kat and Annie. That was their scene, after all.
Five - Oo, Zimmy.
Six - Innocence and nostalgia? Perhaps Young Donny giving some flowers to Young Anja. Both of them are blushing ;D
Seven - Gonna have to break this down a bit more into what I would turn into what. These are based on Annie being the person in the lower left corner:
Head - Kat's head (not severed, obviously, it's kind of spectral)
Shrouded figure - Jeanne?
Snake - Rey. Pick a form, but I'd go with sophisticated wolf. Alternatively, Coyote.
Castle - Part of the Court
Treasure - The Seed Bismuth? I'm not really sure how to translate the treasure.
Laurel wreath - The flowers that Jones have to everyone?
Dragon - A Rogat Orjak. Call it Sivo if you like, they all look the same to me.
Eight - Anthony, or a figure representing Anthony given that we're not sure what he looks like now.
Nine - I reckon Coyote. He always has things just as he wants them.
Ten - Perhaps Donny and Anja (given that they're the only happy adult couple we've seen so far) with Annie and Kat playing to the side. Some decks don't have the kids, so don't worry about them if you don't want to.
Page - I see this as John Sullivan.
Knight - Sounds like Jack before his encounter with Zimmy, but I'm not certain.
Queen - I reckon Surma.
King - I think Dr Disaster would go well here.
Coins/PentaclesI'm going to suggest the use of the Bismuth symbol instead of the pentacle which normally adorns the coins. Either that or some other appropriate symbol such as Coyote's eye or the head-gear, both from the Third Treatise. So long as the symbol is Gunnerkrigg-relevant and preferably in context to the card, pick whatever you like.
Ace - Perhaps have the Court/Forest at the bottom, and have the Bismuth symbol on the coin. Made suitably fancy, of course.
Two - Aw, I think this one should be Winsbury, with his big cheeky grin.
Three - Eglamore, Donny and Anja fit the look of this card perfectly.
Four - Hmm, not sure if there's any hoarders in GKC. Perhaps the Headmaster...he's hoarding secrets...
Five - I'm thinking Rey as the guy on crutches and Annie as the other figure, although I'll admit this card doesn't lend itself well to GKC.
Six - This can only be Jones, dispensing carefully measured knowledge, not giving too much away. Pick your own receivees. I suspect Annie will be a likely choice.
Seven - It's a gardener. Stick Bob in there.
Eight - As the figure is a craftsman I'm going to suggest Diego, although there are a number of people who could fill this role - Donny, Kat, even Eglamore in his own way.
Nine - At first I thought of Surma, but then I saw how unemotional she looks (or unenthusiastic, at least) which made me think of Jones. The whole "surrounded by nature" would probably fit Surma better, but it's your decision. Come to think of it, Annie would fit quite well here, especially if you hark back to when she barely moved her face at all.
Ten - The Headmaster ought to be the old man, possibly with Eglamore guarding him. Not sure who the woman should be though, perhaps Surma with a young Annie at her feet.
Page - Could probably be Annie. Tricky one though.
Knight - Nobody jumps to mind, sorry.
Queen - Another difficult one, but I'd be willing to nominate Anja as a possibility.
King - I'm thinking Ysengrin.
And those are my ideas. I've used the Rider-Waite deck because it's what Wikipedia uses and it's a popular, well-known deck, but use whatever deck you like, or no deck at all; it's up to you.
