Aw YissShared the info with others who read it and we're all excited. Hmm. I'll believe it when I see it, and when it's been regularly updating for more than a single month. We've been told about Meek returns a few times, and they've lasted shorter times each one.

Ah, I've only recently (and desultorily) read it. If the author's known for their inconsistency, well, blah on them!

Since we're at obligatory propaganda stage, I shall reiterate that everyone should give Freefall a chance. Behind occasional slapstick you've got witty humor and serious philosophical considerations on the place of AI in society. There's even a new handy "infinite scroll" version to binge-read the comic (clocking in, currently, at 2639 strips since 1998). Very handily, its update schedule is pretty much in sync with Gunnerkrigg.

Well, this particular announcement (which you can see here, by the way) has been built up for a while now, so I'm hopeful. Also, the creator has a new comic, Mare Internum, which has been updating regularly since it started back in January, which I also take as a good sign.

It's probably the longest running webcomic that I still read regularly. And somehow it has managed to retain the gag per strip-format while also at the same time telling a compelling hard sci-fi story about the troubles that AIs run into in a human society. Better yet, the main cast doesn't have a single human member among them, but that doesn't keep them from being perfectly relatable.

Oh, have I mentioned Kill Six Billion Demons before? I'm sure someone must have on this thread, but dayum this is gettin' gooood. A friend just recommended this to me the other day. I know what I'll be reading this weekend. -- Here's some new comics I read recently and have added to my enormous list of webcomics: Mare Interum - New project by the maker of The Meek [sometimes NSFW because boobs] (which will apparently be coming back this year). Floraverse - Beautiful prologue, art, and creative character designs. Things seem to be picking up right now. Headless Bliss - Fairly new project by the creator of Go Get A Roomie! (kinda NSFW, but HB is SFW). Gorgeous art. Love Not Found (NSFW) - Newest comic from creator of Red String (also sometimes NSFW). Thistil Mistil Kistil - Nordic gods story with recently deceased main mortal character. Back from brief hiatus.

I'm going to have to look up some of these comics! I don't have much time to read online, but these are the ones I follow on a regular basis: Gunnerkrigg Court- Obviously... Off White- Heavily based on Norse mythology, with very realistic wolf protagonists. Spectacular artwork. Strays- Cute story about an orphaned wolf-girl. Sandra and Woo- So many people here read it! I'm so happy! Faux Pas- Life and times in an Animal Studio (for the animals) Do you get the impression that I like animals? Yeah... I also read manga online sometimes, but those don't count as webcomics.

Faux Pas- Life and times in an Animal Studio (for the animals) Do you get the impression that I like animals? Yeah... I will check out Off White and Strays Faux Pas is great, though if you dislike furry stuff on principle, it's not for you. Sandra and Woo was one of my favorite webcomics, but recently it seems to have gone downhill precipitously. Consider Ghosts of the Future if you like animal-based stuff. It's a Sonic AU fancomic that is well-enough executed that Sega hired the artist.

Faux Pas is about furries? That never occurred to me... Anything that contains anthropomorphic animals as its protagonists can be loosely classified as 'furry'; but Faux Pas is on the less-anthropomorphized side of the spectrum (and Sandra and Woo is even further towards the non-furry side).

I have a web comic problem maybe? Not really, you only are currently reading 47. Less than half of where I am. Apparently I haven't posted my list in THIS thread, and it's changed a bit since the last time I posted it anywhere (surprisingly, it is slightly shorter now). My web browser asks for verification if I tell it to open a folder of 15 or more shortcuts all at once. So I try to keep to 14 or fewer in a folder. I have four folders for Monday, three each Tues-Fri, two each Sat-Sun, one for monthlies, one for irregulars, and one for things I haven't worked out the real schedule on yet. Plus (not included below) a folder for comics that have finished but I might want to reread, and one for those that just died but I hope are resurrected someday - I check them every couple months. There are one or two in this list that I suspect might have died but still check regularly. And a few that are side-comics to other comics on the list. And a few are text. Eleven NSFW! The rest:

Yeah, for me RSS has never delivered the promise that was hyped. But I am still looking for a RSS reader or web service that will work (almost) as simply as bookmark folders do. So far every one I've tried has had too many problems to be worth struggling with. At first I could not get TheOldReader to work in my Firefox 37.0.1: the subscribe link had no effect and the import OPML reported "OPML file you uploaded is either incorrect or empty." The subscribe bookmarklet worked but I had to allow subtome.com scripts first. I sent my minimum size OPML file to support at theoldreader.com to see what the problem might be. Otherwise I managed to manually add a few comics to my theoldreader account and will see how it goes for the less regular/more problematic comics. Does anyone know of an addon that will save a single Firefox bookmark folder to OPML, or better, an addon that will RSS subscribe a bookmark folder?

Tried an RSS feed once. Told it about six sites. The number of updates it alerted me to in the next four hours: 24. The number of updates that occurred in those four hours: 0. RSS feeds are either provided by sites (then it's the site's own problem) or by heuristics if there is no RSS feed - which can fail this way, yes. One needs an extension that autodiscovers RSS feeds to effectively use them.

I'm probably doing RSS wrong. I just pile them up into folders like any bookmarks, and the latest update lights up. I've never used any aggregators.
After checking out The Old Reader briefly just now, my way seems more efficient somehow!

I see Daedalus already mentioned this one, but Demon's Mirror, a unique take on The Snow Queen. Things are escalating! I love the colors. Updates twice a week, generally Mon/Thur. Penny Blackfeather a "regencypunk adventure" about a girl, the spirit of her grandfather, and her friend who can do magic. It's goofy silly fun. The little author watermarks are always fun. Updates Sundays.

Having just consumed existing archives and added it to my RSS list, I can heartily recommend Unsounded. In the beginning it was hard to relate to (the female lead character is an insufferable brat), but a couple of chapters in the quite complex storyline/setting did the job. And it's quite beautifully drawn, too. A fine fantasy comic with a well-done and original setting.

This sh*t be getting real. It's turning into the strangest Ghost in the Shell prequel ever!
