Also, if that's Zimmy, then we've gotta wonder what happened to Gamma or where she is. Pretty much the only reason she was in the court was the symbiosis (of sorts) with Zimmy.

In other news, 4 pages in 1.3 hours might be a record for discussion threads, as far as I know.

Not that I think it's likely, but her role could have been filled by Jack. In other news, 3 pages in an hour of a discussion thread might be a record, as far as I know. You mean four? The fourth actually happened while I was busy typing that, haha.

Tom stirred us up good with this'un.
Fire Spike was before my time, but did that not even draw such commentary?

Tom stirred us up good with this'un. Fire Spike was before my time, but did that not even draw such commentary? Before my time on the forum as well. Probably correct. Still, 4 pages in 1.3 hours is impressive. Not that I think it's likely, but her role could have been filled by Jack. The fourth actually happened while I was busy typing that, haha. That's what I figured. Which half?

Possibly, but does anyone, including the students, know exactly where in the world Gunnerkrigg Court IS? First bonus page. Not many options for oceans around there This means they're currently on the East Coast. You can tell because the light on the horizon is out with the ocean, and it's not hard to assume that it's morning.

I'm pretty sure that Annie liked Jack, at least to some degree, and that she did what she did in Faraway Morning because she was still angry about what he did to Renard. Likewise, I think Jack really did reciprocate, and that his behavior since then has been in retaliation, trying to make Annie jealous. Then again, I could be completely wrong. Never was too good at all this relationship stuff Consider Annie in the ForestNo matter how serious Annie is, he's still best fit for "love" back at home.

That's a girl who looks superficially like Zimmy, but isn't. Her manner and demeanor are completely different. She looks like a normal girl, not someone who's being assaulted by huge amounts of etheric babble. So unless Zimmy's nature has completely changed to that level where she doesn't need Gamma anymore, that's not Zimmy. She's no red eyes either, and her attire is far too well put-together. I can't imagine Zimmy bothering with nail polish when Gamma can barely talk her into washing herself.
So Jack has a beau, and he picked her to look just like Zimmy. That's not creepy at all.
This page is confirmation that either Annie really felt something for him, or she still feels bad.
The ocean in the Court seems like some kind of witchery. This page confirms that there's something odd about it. Not even Kat is certain, and her parents work there.

For a brief moment I thought I have a perfect theory: it's Jack and the Jackalope.
..and then I remembered the "always become male" part.

I think she does 'love' him, in the confused way only adolescence can bring. She certainly wanted to avoid him at the beginning of today's page, but that of course could be her fleeing from something she's not familiar with - and remember, Annie came to the Court as a total stoic. A couple years can't wipe that away completely. Same reason she is all cold at the beginning of Fire Spike.

Just wanted to mention that Interesting detail in second panel, how the court has clouds covering it like a blanket that dissipates almost immediately upon reaching the ocean. Method of avoiding traditional/non-traditional detection? Very good catch, sir. EDIT: Explains some of the gloomy atmosphere too. For a brief moment I thought I have a perfect theory: it's Jack and the Jackalope. ..and then I remembered the "always become male" part. Daaaaaaaamn. That would have been awesome. Plus we'd call the ship Jack 2. How do we know 'she' is not male? Just playing Coyote's Advocate.

I'm surprised how many people are so willing to ignore everything we know about Zimmy and her character. How can this be Zimmy? You'd need to explain a million things away. Besides, Tom would lose a great story element if Zimmy were to suddenly become normal. I wonder if Annie's trying to get away because of feelings for Jack (if that's the case, oh no, a heartbreak cruise), or if she's seen these two guys together already and knows how much of a trainwreck awkward this relationship is? Jack is trying to substitute Zimmy, that can't be healthy! OR they are unbearably lovey-dovey together, hahaha. Or it's all of the above...

what about babibis, to now and forever clear up any possible confusion on the matter ...what? ..so it's Jack saying both lines. She doesn't, probably. Or she might. But it's Jack saying "Heyyy, Carver" - that speech bubble is his color. No, Jack's color is green (last panel). And panel 5's 'heyyy Carver' is in grey (compare the two); though, to be fair, Jack would call her that and this could be explained neatly by the earlier speech bubble being mis-colored. I still think the irises are the important distinction though. One cookie to me...
