*Sitting around awkwardly* So.... How's the weather? Colder than Satan's ballsack. It sucks. Actually, really cold for Arizona. So, it's warm compared to everywhere else, but we still like to complain.

Another interesting pair of factoids I've noticed: 37.67% of the accounts on the forum have never posted. A further 18.17% have only made one post. Only 34 people (Tom excluded) who have made more than 500 posts. Huh. That feels odd. Tom's legitimately made ~1080 posts, so he can be fairly counted in as well But yeah, this isn't exactly one of the faster forums out there. Also it seems the majority of people only stick around for a few months, which for most people is enough time for maybe 100-200.

Yeah, whatever. You try biking home at 7:30 at night in 10 degree weather without your scarf.

Hm, 10c/50f is about the temp it used to be when I'd bike to seminary at ~6am. Never needed a scarf, but gloves were pretty much required (bonus points for glasses)

10 °C is about when I take off the jacket and exercise my right to bare arms.

When you ride, the whole body gets hot, but the hands turns into lumps of ice. Also, everyone define 10C here! For me, it's a bit higher than outdoors right now.

Here in the SF Bay Area anything below 10c/50f is so "cold" that news stations spend a minimum of five minutes on it. And bring it up constantly like it's a holiday or something. And even interview random people, asking how they're preparing for it. (the weather's actually gone below freezing a few times in the past couple weeks..people are kinda going nuts) Edit: and yes 95f is seen as very hot

So wait who is from Texas again? Not from Texas, but currently in Texas. We live in a motorhome and move around a good bit. We got caught in the first ice storm (in Ozona, TX) but stayed put because of engine trouble. Cracked quarter-inch-thick slabs of ice off the car's driver-side window. (Yes, the SIDE window, which is nearly vertical.) Had good weather while getting the engine fixed and then just barely got the very south edge of the second ice storm (in Killeen, TX) with maybe a millimeter-thick layer of ice on an awning; even the car had enough thermal mass to prevent ice formation. It looks like we would miss the third one entirely if we stay here (Livingston TX), but we're going to central Alabama and I haven't checked the forecast there.

Wow, I'm impressed everyone. You took a simple joke and turned it into a discussion about how cold it is where you live and eating dog poop.
Cograts, this is the most I have ever seen a forum ramble on about something so meaningless.
Really, I tip my hat to all of you.

Oh gosh. It snowed today. It snowed almost all day! I'm from Florida so this was a big day for me, although I suppose I'll get used to it fairly quickly.
The snowflakes were so big. They landed on my coat, and I could even see patterns in them. I foolishly did not bring a scarf to work and had to walk to get my lunch in only my coat.
Sadly there was not enough snow to build a snowperson once I got home.
So. That was my day.

Oh man, it's so cold outside here. It's like 64 degrees! No kidding. This is my first "winter" (I prefer the term "near-autumn") in the LA area after being raised near Seattle. I've put on long sleeves no more than five times, and then usually with shorts and sandals. This stuff is nuts.

It's a good kind of nuts. There's supposed to be a cold wave moving through this area too. The orange growers are flipping out because there might actually be... wait for it... FROST
