Well, you can think what you want of TVTropes, but one thing is certain: A lengthy and well-wicked article there is excellent advertisement. It's always nice to see that some good came out of launching that article.

I think at least half the forum users came here from a TVTrope crawl, including me.
Something about the art... seemed solid. Dunno how to describe it.

I recall hearing about it from the TVTropes article about the Noodle Incident (referencing the haunted teapot) but I didn't feel compelled to look it up until seeing a graphic of the evolution of GC's art style. It piqued my interest, and here we are.

I know someone who used to run a webcomic ( Evo and Ara). Gunnerkrigg was on his list of recommendations, as was (I believe) Bad Machinery. I came in right around here (when Annie runs away to the forest, Jones comes after her, and Coyote freezes time.) I really miss Evo and Ara, in spite of how winding and confusing it was. I hope he picks it up again someday.

I discovered this (well, I'd seen the name around the internet) yesterday, after someone on another forum linked to one of Coyote's crazy chats with Anne. I was taken with the art, and curious enough about just what was going on to click to the first page. So, having devoured all the archives, now I am doomed to eagerly await each update... is it here yet? *twitch*

Wow, I've never posted in this thread.
My boyfriend showed it to me when we first started dating four (holy cow) years ago. Back then, I think I was only semi-regularly reading two or three webcomics. I think I read through GC in a couple of days (I was in college and had lots of disposable time).

Am I doing a bad thing in resurrecting this thread? I hope not.
On the Something Awful forums a bunch of goons have Gunnerkrigg Court related avatars and there's also a thread about it in one of the sub-forums over there. That's where I found it at. I believe I first started around Fire Spike which got me to read the beginning of the comic.

Necros are only annoying when someone is resurrecting an old comic discussion thread and knocking it out of order.

Tv Tropes, here. I think it was on the article 'Jerkass', but I'm absolutely certain that it referenced Coyote. A couple of google searches later, and I was hooked. This was during the chapter of Catalyst.
This was also not a completely good thing. This was the weekend before a final exam, and I spent the time archive binging repeatedly rather than studying.
Worth it.

Fairly sure I found Gunnerkrigg Court after Andrew Hussie said it was a great webcomic. I can't remember where or when he said that though.

Was it that 2011 webcomic poll, when Hussie posted on his tumblr something to the effect of "Look, I'm already going to get way more than enough votes. Why don't you go vote for Gunnerkrigg Court instead?"
Then, a few rounds later, GC beat Homestuck, which I absolutely did not expect.

I found it in recommended comics list of Dresden Codak. While I certainly don't remember, this is very probable path for me.

Well, I was browsing at the comic corner of the public library actually, when I found "Gunnerkrigg Court Volume1" I thought it could be cool so I borrowed and read it. MY EYES NEARLY POPPED WITH THE AWESOMNESS THAT WAS PRESENTED TO ME. I was extremely disappointed when I could not locate "Gunnerkrigg Court Volume2" through the 2yrs that followed. But one day I was bored, and read the back of the book. And there it was written by someone that it was originally a web comic. Without further ado, I got onto the computer to read more awesomeness ;P

I'm going to send them a basket of cheeses for having grade-A taste.

TV Tropes (like quite a few others, it seems). At some point, I had come across multiple page images as well as tropes which this webcomic is rather prominently featured with some sort of frequency. I was quite intrigued and impressed at those pictures and trope examples, so I wanted to check it out.
And now I'm here.

Dude. What library. I'm going to send them a basket of cheeses for having grade-A taste. Well, I live in Coquitlam, BC, Canada. It's at the Poirer Library in the kids section. So I guess if anyone lives near, they can go try to find it. I'm not sure if there are other books though. I'm pretty sure that they only have that one copy though... and it's pretty old

Cool to think that some kid will stumble across this.

Indeed, though I pity whoever picks this up and doesn't know it's a webcomic but cannot find the other books. Actually, I pity anyone who doesn't know it's a webcomic

Well, Coyote *is* breaking the fourth wall and speaking to the readers there, as Annie notes (well, she asks who he's talking to). (also, I was confused for a minute, as your comment was within the quote )

First time I came across this comic was I think after it won in the comic voting. Didn't really like it for some reason. Came across it again about a year later in Dresden Codak's link sidebar, and this was the most recent comic.* Piqued my interest a bit wondering what happened to the art style..went back a bit, got confused, and read the entire archive through the end of Changes in three days. This comic updates like clockwork (at midnight in my time zone), so I usually watch it come up and the ensuing race of people posting the topic *Days-Later Edit: this.
