This thread is for people to tell others how they discovered our beloved webcomic, may it be a simple, amazing, or wacky story.
On my behalf, I discovered Gunnerkrigg Court through a thread in another webcomic forum about a month and a half ago.
What about you?

I came here from another webcomic's (I think it was Dr. McNinja's) 'Links' page. This was during Ch 7, "Of New and Old"; though I don't remember the exact page that was up at the time, I know it was during Annie's conversation with Eglamore and the Donlans.

I found out about it through the Extras Page for Paul Gadzikowski's "Arthur King of Time and Space", which had a strip where King Arthur and Merlin were hosting an awards for story-based (as opposed to gag-based) webcomics, one of the candidates being "Gunnerkrigg Court"; Annie was present at the "ceremony", though acting much more jaded than usual (saying "Whatever" when Merlin announced "Gunnerkrigg Court" as a candidate). I was curious enough about it to investigate it, and quickly came to enjoy it.

Doc McNinja, when Tom did a guest comic. It was during the "Mainly Involves Robots" Chapter, when Annie was grabbing Robot's brain from it's little cell.

I believe I found this comic after it was first featured at the Webcomics Awards of Something or Other.
I forget the title of the awards group, but I always find the drawn awards ceremony entertaining.
Anyhow, Tom and Gunnerkrigg Court had either won and award or been a runner-up for something one year, and one click of a link was all it took to hook me.

Friend of mine who always makes fun of my love for Harry Potter told me about GC. Now he makes fun of my love for Gunnerkrigg Court. :-)

When it was reviewed on Websnark. I linked it, then forgot about it for a while. It wasn't until a few months later that I finally went through and read the whole thing, and was hooked.

Followed a link from one of the other webcomics I read. Maybe Crimson Dark or Afterstrife. Not sure...

Found it on Dr. McNinja through the guest comic Tom did there, but that was only a very short while ago.

Someone posted a link on the AmbrosiaSW forums leading here. I read one page and instantly knew it was something I would like.

I'm pretty certain I came in from Scary Go Round, if not it would have been a link from another of my regular reads. The sight of Annie dissecting the Tic Toc was what really grabbed my attention first off.

I think I first linked in from another comic, although I'm not 100% sure just which comic it was. For some reason, I want to say it was Ghastly's Ghastly Comic, when I was reading through the archives.

I found it when Tom did a guest comic for Scary Go Round a while back. I loved it on first sight. Though... I had such a hard time getting my friends to put it in their rounds... Oh well, I won them over.

I was chatting to a friend on MSN, and when he mentioned GTA I said, "what's that?" (shocking, I know ) He directed me to www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=201. I found it really interesting, and started reading from the beginning. That was while Kat was having troubles with make-up. So, I had the pleasure of reading everything before then in one sitting.

Could you tell how GTA, which I'm guessing by that you mean Grand Theft Auto, lead you to discover Gunnerkrigg Court, because I can't really find the link between those two subjects. (unless you made a typo, then it's my mistake)

I got into it from an Afterstrife guest comic which I thought was very pretty, came in here: www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=231Yeah I know... It's a long way down the line. And I found Afterstrife from meeting the author at Webcomix Convention in Mile End, which I went to with my friend Bex to meet John Allison, the author of Scary-Go-Round!

From an author's forum, Mark Chadbourn (awesome British dark-fantasy writer. You know you want to read his books!), I'm not sure where I came in. I think it was in or after Chapter 7. I got a friend into it too

And I found GC after I went to Webcomix Convention in Mile End, also to meet John Allison! I discovered three new comics that day, Beaver and Steve, GC and Afterstrife (well, I already knew about Afterstrife but had forgotten it after not bookmarking it). John and I talked about pigeons and how the beady look in their eyes means they're probably planning evil world domination. He drew me a picture of a particularly menacing-looking one. See, webcomic conventions certainly work for getting fans. It's not just a waste of photocopying flyers. I went home with about 8kg of paper that day. I need to learn how to say "thank you very much but I just couldn't carry any more, my arms are weak and brittle!"

(unless you made a typo, then it's my mistake) The game was featured in the Bonus Page "Light Entertainment" just before Chapter Twelve, where Kat was playing it - and scaring Annie no end in the process!

When Tom was like "I think I'm going to make a webcomic" and I was like "It's probably gonna suck "

Yeeeeah, Web Comix Convention was lotsa fun, no one was conventionally geeky-looking like Star Wars fans are depicted (note I say 'depicted') sometimes, it was like a gathering of pretty, talented, non-intimidating people, there was quite a lot to look at besides the drawings Please don't think me shallow... Even though... I kinda am... But it's rare to see so many alternative gorgeous people in one place. I chatted with the author of Afterstrife, Ali Graham, he was fun, kept trying to stick stickers on my back, he had a lil' plait like Obi Wan Kenobi (or however you spell it). Me and my friend Bex were struck dumb except for girlish giggles in front of John Allison.

Found it a few months back in the Dr. McNinja links section. Can't remember what page it was on, around chapter seven or eight I think.
