I'm not really sure where I came here from, though I think it was either through TWC or Dr. McNinja. I'm not a big Dr. McNinja person (it's not that I don't appreciate it, I just somehow never bothered to keep up with it), but last spring I fell into The Dreamer and started trolling for new comics. One way or another, Gunnerkrigg was one of them. I think the first page I saw was this. I remember being really confused, and thus going through the archives over two days instead of doing my homework, much like I did with Inverloch when I found the Phoenix Requiem. Unfortunately, the closest I have come to creating converts was linking to the laser cow's first page to explain exactly what I meant by "laser cows: just like real cows, but with lasers" when I chatted with a friend. Laser cows have caused at least half my family and friends to suspect I'm insane, mostly because I keep bringing them up in conversation and then cracking up for no apparent reason.

One of my best friends spent all of my senior year trying to get me to read it. I'm ashamed it took me so long to listen to her. ^^'

I first came upon it DrunkDuck years ago. That was back when the latest page was #27. However, I quickly forgot about it. Years later, I came upon it a few times while browsing TVTropes (I was intrigued a little by seeing my beautiful native language), but only got into it after being linked to #252 in July 2009. I was so intrigued by this page that I read the whole chapter, and then the whole comic. (And then the whole forum...)

I think I came here from TV Tropes, which is ironic given how much Tom hates them. :-) I think it was the Crowning Moment of Awesome page in particular, the listing about Kat building a flying vehicle in a few hours in order to save her friend. I just had to see that.

Long ago, in the strange year of 2006, I was naively browsing the internet links between comic sites. I don't remember the exact page, but it was somewhere in chapter eight when I first popped by. Next time I visited was a year later, this page (I remember Egger's line pretty well). Was a consistent reader until around new years of '08-'09, then my computer died, and the massive list of wonderful comics was lost forever, many of which I still cannot find. (Sad face) Now I'm back, started at everyone's favourite chocolate related mishap, joined the forums some time after. Don't remember the first link, every other time was me remembering the name and googling the site.

I found out about it through the Extras Page for Paul Gadzikowski's "Arthur King of Time and Space", which had a strip where King Arthur and Merlin were hosting an awards for story-based (as opposed to gag-based) webcomics, one of the candidates being "Gunnerkrigg Court"; Annie was present at the "ceremony", though acting much more jaded than usual (saying "Whatever" when Merlin announced "Gunnerkrigg Court" as a candidate). I was curious enough about it to investigate it, and quickly came to enjoy it. And how dare you post that without a link! (It's near the bottom of the page.)

Huh. I did a quick keyword search in this thread and I guess nobody else came along the way I did. On this page of the Power Station chapter Tom nodded to several different other webcomics with the stuffed animals, including a jinxlet from Starslip Crisis, which I read regularly. The author of that comic noted it on his blog. Let me tell you what, that has got to be the worst. page. ever. from which to start reading Gunnerkrigg Court. Heh. =)

Did he make a thread about it or something?

TV tropes is okay, I just wish there was a simple way to tell the slang actually used in the film and writing businesses like "MacGuffin" and "Chekhov's Gun" from the stuff the Internet generally just sort of came up with.

^True. There is a bit too too much just random nonsense that's too jargon-y to be supremely funny. I do like some of it. There is a taste of universality to, let's say, The Scrappy though. It's good for those gems Now to be on topic, I first discovered GC on a circuitous route of trying to find the original inspiring work of a few pieces of fanart and select panels (your powers of deception amaze me) that people in a few distributed forums were using as sigs. Finally found it one day, archive binged the whole weekend, became an avid follower and now I spread the word to whoever will listen to me for five minutes, haha.

I found my way here from Templar, AZ, which can be NSFW from time to time. So be careful clicking. At the time of this posting there's nothing more than strong language.

Hello. I'm new here. I just discovered Gunnerkrigg Court a few weeks ago when Comicbook Resources ran this: www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=23314 The article made me curious, and once I read the first page, I was hooked. Brilliantly written and beautifully drawn. And the author's comments at the bottom of the pages are also wonderful. Now, I look forward to every new post.

I somehow found myself at TV Tropes (I forget why, I was probably trying to find something completely different) and saw it mentioned that Gunnerkrigg Court had psychopomps. That was enough for me.

I'd heard the name here and there before, but I didn't actually read the comic until I found Orientation at my college library, of all places. (Minnesota State University in Mankato, for the curious.)

Someone linked here from the XKCD forums, of all places. I then read half the archive with hardly a glance away from the screen, only stopping because it was past 4 AM, and finished it the next day. Best semi-static entrancing hypnosis ever invented.
