My mother found a mention of it on a book recommendations site, as the first book was just published at the time. She followed a link and read a bit online, got bored, but showed it to me, as she knew I had just started reading a couple of webcomics [Lackadaisy, Kagerou and OOTS, I think]. I read up to the most recent page, which was one of the Power Station ones??? then forgot about it until the first or second page of Skywatcher and Angel, I believe.

Someone made some porn of it, and I saved it and posted it on 4chan, cause it was, well, hot.
Somebody recognizes the characters, points it out, and, well, here I am. I thought that the site was going to be full of porn, because I had no prior knowledge of Gunnerkrigg, but what I found was alot more awesome then porn.
Yes, there is something more greater than porn. And that is this webcomic!
And so there went 3 hours of my life wittled away reading. And it was the best 3 hours of my life, I tell you what.

Word of advice: posting rule 34 of Gunnerkrigg Court is not welcome here. That said, welcome here!

I was on the TV Tropes "Curse Cut Short" page and decided to check out the clever way Kat's curse was cut off. I then decided to start at the beginning of it and fell in love.

My school library owned the first 2 books. I am impressed at any library, especially a school library, which would purchase the first two volumes of a web comic

I'm a TV Tropes junkie, so there were some other articles as well that I saw that contributed to my eventual discovery of Gunnerkrigg.

Another comic forum I go to has a purchase thread where people take pictures of the stuff they buy and show it off to the other forumites. Someone bought a copy of Gunnerkrigg, and I asked what it was. So another forumite links to the webcomic, and I go on a reading spree.

I followed it on DrunkDuck. I like to brag to myself I was there when it started, but I have no way to be sure. (And thus, no way to prove myself wrong.) I literally panicked when it was removed. Seriously. I probably missed an announcement, but that was not cool. Then, a half a year to a year later, I got bored, searched for the first thing that came to mind, and voilá! Back again.

Tom drew Kris Straub a picture, and when Kris put it up on starslip.com, I followed the link back to here.

My story's not that exciting. I discovered it from an interwebs friend, who learned of it from her cousin. That was April, early into Spring Heeled. ..And now I'm determined to get my friends into GC so I can have someone to talk to about it. tehe!

A few of the guys at Bay12 have avatars of various characters, it got brought up in conversation, and was Googled.
That's completley irrelevant to how I discovered GC, though.

It all stared when I was just starting to get interested in web comics, starting with the discovery video game themed web comics, Nerf Now, VG Cats and etc. Yes, I know you're probably thinking that I've been living under a rock I discovered it in a very "questionable and inappropriate" website which I would like to remain hidden and unknown. Yes, I'm not proud on how I discovered our beloved web comic but that image I saw on that website looked so interesting I just had to find out what it was. There I saw on the left side of the screen, the link to a tag named Gunnerkrigg Court where the image was tagged under After some googling, I found the home page of Gunnerkrigg Court and was greeted by this image which was during April 9 www.gunnerkrigg.com/index.php?p=1182I read it for 2 days straight from the first up to the very last page. I was hooked and I couldn't get enough so I reread it again after a few days. I've been sharing it with my friends because it was so interesting and fun to read. When that wasn't enough I joined the forums to discuss with fellow fans and viewers of the comic. As a guy I found this comic very very interesting to read mostly because it was just really dark and brooding and at the same time colorful and vibrant. Well that's my story. Bonus: www.gunnerkrigg.com/index.php?p=243Dear male readers: Don't let the guys know you're reading this stuff.

I first got linked to it from Awkward Zombie but didn't start reading it then. I found it again when there was a thread about it on the MSPA forums and I read through the whole thing.

Necro aside... I had actually first seen it in passing on TvTropes, although just from skimming the main article it didn't seem right for me. One day I was looking for this image for whatever reason (I remembered the image, but not where I'd seen it) and eventually found my way back to the comic. Having heard some good things about the story in the interim, I decided to give it a shot... Then as is my custom upon finding new webcomics I really like, stayed up all night on an archive binge. ;D EDIT: And then a forum archive binge, reading the discussion threads for selected chapters (in no particular order). And then a second full (mostly) read-through, with parallel forum-reading. And another run, sans-forum...

I, too, found it through TVTropes. I was surfing through some different tropes related to The Runaway Guys, I believe, and somehow stumbled upon Gender-Blender Name and was intrigued (and liked the art, as well). After investigating GC's TVTropes page a bit, I decided to do an archive binge, and low-and-behold, not only do I get a new favorite webcomic, but also a spark of inspiration that led to a torrent of ideas that led to what I now consider the best story I've ever created (and after only one day of creating it, too! it built up that freaking fast!) that led to me now preparing my own webcomic & trying to learn how to draw better. So yeah... glad I found Gunnerkrigg. By the die, no less!

I... honestly don't remember where I found it. I believe it was TVTropes though, because I discovered it around the same time. I discovered it in a very "questionable and inappropriate" website which I would like to remain hidden and unknown. It's okay, you can say the 4chan word here. We won't judge you. Much. Dear male readers: Don't let the guys know you're reading this stuff. I chuckled when I saw that. I'm a grown-ass man who writes fanfiction stories. Any shame I had about having weird tastes went out the window years ago.

The current comic was this one, I think. And while I was binging, I thought "I'm sure it'll make sense eventually..." Anyways, so apparently 5 of the last 6 posters found their way here via TvTropes.

My friends always knew me as kind of the manly man but they never knew I had a soft spot for these kind comic books like X-23 and The Darkness.

I discovered it through the wiki several others have mentioned in this very thread. I actually "discovered" it twice: first I read through all the chapters, decided that I wasn't interested in continuing, but people kept linking, so I decided to pick it up again. I'm glad I did.

I'm pretty sure I found it first through Scary-Go-Round. I remember seeing www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=831. I read quite intensely for a few days, but I really didn't have time to spare for whatever reason so I let Gunnerkrigg languish in my favorites list one day until I got bored. I can't remember right now when exactly I picked it up again.

The picture I saw of GC was pretty hot... gunnerkrigg.com/?p=402But in all seriousness, the cursed teapot was a really curious topic so I'd really really like to know more about. Hopefully we'd get to see a chapter where Annie and Kat would recall all their previous untold adventures, including the cursed teapot incident.

I didn't find Gunnerkrigg... It found me.I honestly don't remember, though. It's one of the first webcomics I started reading, if not the first. Probably stumbled upon it by chance, if I wasn't linked to it by Archipelago or Supernormal Step or something. I have been reading for a long while, though. I remember anxiously waiting to discover just what made the Power Station so special.
