As much as it sounds strange from me, i guess it's for the best. The start is the roughest part, and we need another kind of thing for it - just winging it like last time ain't going to do us any good. Working on it already. Don't think it's a goodbye, though, in fact i'm about to post a new topic for the specific thing. Will link here.

Hey! I just bought (a legal version of) Minecraft, my screen name is G8oose! Well, even though we don't have a server up, you can get a head start and familiarize yourself with the workings of Tekkit and Worldedit (as well as Minecraft if you haven't already.)

The server isn't up? I thought it was.

From the clanslots support: "Hi there sorry about the delay, we're currently fixing some issues with our provisioning system. Are you looking at running a mod or just basic minecraft ? I'll preinstall it for you." Well, it was a rough start, but i think that from now on it will be smooth sailing.

The server isn't up? I thought it was. I was hosting it but no one did any work for 48 hours and it was a bit of a pain in the neck so I took it down.

More like "dormant due to Clanslots snagging my 16 bucks, ignoring my tickets for months and not enabling my server". I feel scammed; So please, if someone knows, personally, a good, live host that does its work and DOES IT NOW (doesn't matter if it did a year ago, i want something that works in the present):
please tell me pronto. I have files, maps, errything ready; just need a host that isn't made of crap.

Alternatively, we could give each person basic guidelines for size, style, and content for each area to be built in singleplayer and edited together.

I've been looking at these Realms, it looks interesting but I dunno. Maybe I could, if people pitched in to pay for it, but my finances are stretched right now. Maybe after the summer.

If someone can link me a reliable server rental service I could rent one. I did a couple of posts ago. Fragnet, in my experience, is reliable.

I still like my idea. Agasa says he still has the maps - if we put those in a public repository, then each person could download them, post the boundary coordinates and the content of their area (essentially staking a claim) and then edit them all together. Ideally we would tie the builds together or surround them with turtle-generated areas. If we put this on a public file hosting service then each person could work on it even if no one else wanted to. This seems to be one of those projects that will be repeatedly necro'd, because we lack as a community the manpower or energy to build in one go but it's too good an idea to let be completely. I would also be willing to host a (non-hamachi) server (different machine this time: a6-6400k, 4gb RAM, 250gb notebook hard drive but I'm not willing to run it for weeks or months on end while we wait for the project to revive again. In addition I will shortly be getting google fiber so bandwidth isn't an issue (not that it was much of one before.)
