We're going to place that in Gilltie.
Y'know, Ysengrin was less than pleased with the "terrifying skills of gardening" comment, so he uh...actually did something terrifying with them. Just out of spite.

Yes to both of you (i met craytor ingame). Please wait ten minutes from this post to enter. EDIT: You're both authorized. Welcome to the server! Once you tally a week of work, you can ask to be made SuperBuilders (a step lower than Admin, that can use most of the advanced WorldEdit stuff).

Please guys, i must ask you a favor. Our host, goofanader, has been impossible to reach for quite a time now. I have got a few complaints about the fact that dynmap doesn't work since the update, but unfortunately i have no clue on how to fix it. Goofanader did it once, so i'm trusting in her to do it again, but as she's not here, she can't. I hope she didn't abandon us, because that would be really sad. The project is going well, albeit a little slow. I trust that she didn't and she's only got some problems that prevent her coming here.
Please, if you can confirm that she's still interested in this, because you heard it from her, and if you can contact her, do it. I need a bit of help here, i've been managing this pretty much alone, updates and all. It would be alright, if not for dynmap, but if you want it, we need her.
If you want to send her a PM, feel free to do so, but i don't know if it helps. If you have it, try another communication channel like mail or something.
If any of you has experience in setting up the new dynmap version, please contact me in this thread. Thank you very much, -Agasa

Hey, so, I made an animated gif layout of a big ol' laboratory-like building (based on the first lab to come up when I typed "laboratory" into google) and I put it through your MC PixelArt program, agasa.
What I does now?

upload the gif (or the schematic directly, if you're sure it converted right) on your hosting place of choice and put a link here. I'll do the rest and we will place it together in-game.

Hey, Can I get permission to build and stuff? I would love to add more and more buildings. OOOH AND THE POWER PLANT IF IT ISN't already there! Edit: Oh, and my name is Neolithicman, just like on here. Err, that is, the name is just Neolithicman. Oh you know what I mean

I haff taken it upon myself to add to the forest. If I don't report in in three weeks, I am probably dead. Choose four people who can be spared and send them out in a search party just in case

OK, here's the link to the gif: i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss344/shovel18/lab_final.gifI don't think photobucket lets me upload non-image files, so I can't give you the schematic right now. Alas.

Hey agasa, I'm so sorry for bailing on you the other night (username: Fablichod/Socram). My computer died, and I had no access to a charger. I'd like to finish the tour at some point, if I hadn't seen everything yet.

I remember you bailed, but not what was left to see. Let's do it again, ne? Also, what did you do, Shovel? And I doubt someone rebooted the server. It probably just fixed itself after a while, it wasn't a real crash, just a stressful moment. More importantly, what blocks should i assign to the colors in the picture?

More importantly, what blocks should i assign to the colors in the picture? Oh right, duhh, I guess that would be a helpful thing to have. uhhhh I guess I'll just give you the RGB values & the block ids they're associated with: 255, 255, 255 = 0 64, 64, 64 = 1 128, 128, 128 = 42 0, 255, 255 = 20 255, 216, 0 = 89 ugh I hope I got this right I am up way too late sorry in advance for whatever screwups I've probably caused guess I gotta figure out how to upload stuff that's not pictures

Try mediafire! For the historical record, Neolithicman was added to builders.
Edit: Upon placing, the laboratory was noted as to be full of stone, on the inside. Not that it's bad, but i suggest you fix the "middle" layers as to be full of air instead.
Edit: did it myself. Please pay attention when using transparency, the GIF format is...sorta weird with that. Try to always use a color (eg. white) to indicate air.
The laboratory is really nice, even if it could use more detailing. I placed it in the test grounds (near the second-year dorms). When you want it moved to a proper location or anything else, tell me.

Agasa, quick question: is the dynamic map dead? If so, maybe we should take down the mention on the wiki..
Edit: Errrr, nevermind, it's probably just firewalled from here.

Agasa, quick question: is the dynamic map dead? If so, maybe we should take down the mention on the wiki.. Edit: Errrr, nevermind, it's probably just firewalled from here. It's dead (ish). The site is there. Don't remove the mention on the wiki, just put a notice saying it's down due to technical problems. As soon as i find the problem, it'll be up again. And yeah, it's probably firewalled on your side. The address updated to 50.23.251.89:8123/. I think the port changed, but i have no idea on how on how to make it snap back to what it was. The map also appears to be...wrong somehow. Again, i have zero idea on how to fix it. It seems to ignore the configuration files. Help.

Ok, guys, i'm not sure what happened yesterday but someone (*cough cough* zingbat? *cough cough*) crashed the server and copied the Court main building over the rainbow lands, completely obliterating my factory, and risking the destruction of the (his own) laboratory. This will be fixed and i realize this was unintentional however i must repeat, exercise caution when using WorldEdit. It's not a toy, and a too big area to modify WILL crash the server, leading to completely screwed-up results. Please explain to me your exact actions so i can try to fix them properly, and don't do it again.
Also, neolithic, edit *frigging* button.

2 post's in a row is fine! It shows the uhhh, length? SPanse? Is that a word? Thing, of the crash. also, I KNEW ZING WAS BEHIND IT!
Expanse? Would expanse fit in that sentence?
YES! MAGNITUDE!

Ok, guys, i'm not sure what happened yesterday but someone (*cough cough* zingbat? *cough cough*) crashed the server and copied the Court main building over the rainbow lands... Dude, it definitely wasn't me. The too-big thing that I tried to copy+paste yesterday was the 2nd year dorm building, and that apparently resolved itself. Unless I've been playing minecraft in my sleep, I certainly didn't try to copy the main building anywhere. Also, thanks for your help with the lab (and the tip about gifs). Hope it wasn't too boring removing the excess stone; next time I'll be sure to explicitly include air in the plans. EDIT: at least, I don't think it was me... the only thing I can think of that could have been me was that I was trying to repair damage to the bridge over the Annan waters, and I suppose it's possible that I botched the region selection process (selected something in the court, and then later only re-assigned *one* corner onto the relevant section of the bridge, instead of re-assigning both? that's the only thing I can think of) and ended up with most of the court in the selection & then caused catastrophe with a //stack command... if that's what happened, then I am SO SORRY and I feel like a total fool. PS---neolithicman, I think the word "magnitude" would work

Fixed my problem. If you get the same problem, just go to your minecraft.jar and restore to a previous version. You will lose any work between the two updates.

Post by agasa on Jun 30, 2011 18:16:23 GMT
yes, zing, that's definitely what happened. One corner's in the bridge, the other is somewhere at the dorms. I'll try to fix it... try to be careful when using the selection again. this will be hard to do. I hope you didn't do any significant work today, because it'll be pulverized. Logging in.
EDIT: All rolled back to just before the accident. Have a nice day!
