I guess that's a comfort.ETA: Crap, my thread title included a typo. In particular, one that I really hate seeing but somehow always seem to make. That's even more embarrassing than my spelling mistake on an earlier thread. Thanks to Eversist for catching that.

Not exactly mind blowing, but still different from what anyone expected.

I guessed it. Never brought it up again, but... woohoo!
Also, humans are represented by an eye?

I think I can safely say that no one thought of that. "Oh hey guys I bet Antimony's grandmother was a campfire!" Nope, woulda remembered it if someone had said that.

That was never guessed before. Ever. Better yet, I think we dismissed the idea that she was part elemental.

I'm actually glad she's not a phoenix/part phoenix. Seemed too hokey.

...And now we understand her rash outburst with Mort. And other times.
Annie seems to be taking this very well. Is Coyote trying to provoke an outburst? Will that release some aspect of Annie he wants to see?

Tom gave us a solid, clear cut answer via Coyote.
I feel I was given a cake and ate the whole thing. XD

I always liked 'fire elemental' as an explanation for what she is.
How DID that first union go? Scary thoughts.

So is this why Jones was "assessing her character" or whatever, in that earlier chapter? Attempting to make her angry, to see how much of her ancestry was still in her blood?

Re: Coyote's eye in last panel; yeah, combined with the grin, that's starting to look very Cheshire-psychotic, also, too close.

Annie seems to be taking this very well. I suspect she's already taken in enough for tonight, and she is so blindsided by this new revelation that she hasn't reacted yet

So since we're now talking about something passed down over several generations, not just Surma to Annie, is it possible that the "gene" or the elemental part of these women will eventually be diluted enough so that it no longer causes them to die after giving life?

"I suspect" quoth Coyote? Not definitive. That three pointed crown is back though, panels 2 and 3 and in the latter it's by her feet. Does that mean the fire-whozit gave up something in order for that first union to be possible?

Also, I know that this was probably just a typo in the haste to get OP, but it's you're* in the title of the thread.

Even if it did, the only way to get to that point would be to keep having new generations of hybrids and hope that you're human enough to survive the process. A rather grim prospect.
