I just guessed that being slightly glowy was a property all magical weapons had.
Eggers sword appears less made and more like a shard of some monolithic crystal honed into a sharp blade.

So have the owls taken up the ecological niche that rats no longer fill? Nope, the pigeons (flying rats) have! Wonder if it means Kat finds human hair disgusting and will be screwed over by a businessman guising as an inventor? A pigeon businessman! CITY FACE! Diego.

On this page, Tom claims that it's the last page: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=119And there is a treatise afterwards. He must have rethought structure, or had more pages once he found an adequate publisher, because that's less than halfway through book one.

A lot of people noticed that Ysengrin is lobotomized in Treatise 5. But if you look closely at his head in Treatise 4... Looked back on that treatise and wondered if it's referencing Ysengrin's memories being taken by Coyote... and what that implies for his ear being depicted the same.

Initially, chapters 1–7 were published as a single book, through Lulu.com. (In fact, it was published early enough that the first buyers saw the end of Chapter 7 before the online readers did.) Eventually, Tom discontinued that edition because he wasn't happy with the price or the print quality. The publishing deal with Archaia was announced a few months later.

Treatise 4 was so hopeful.
Treatise 5 seems like they a trapped between two sides, with the uncomfortable reality of the world closing in about them.

Dunno if it's been mentioned, but when Coyote pulls this prank on Annie, she does an aikido backward roll, I think. We've seen her practise martial arts with her dad in Good Hope. Then there's this »homework question«, the answer to which is implied in the following chapter: The laser cows were constructed by Diego. They don't cut the grass on Young's grave so that Diego may get his petty posthumous vengeance. And of course, I like the sign above Jeanne's tomb. Chapter 25 is outstanding in many ways.

Real quick, on page 613 Tom says "Archery nerds... raging!"
Well he forgot about us physics nerds.

It was probably mentioned by many at the time but I only just noticed that Kat's wearing an Aphex Twin thingy here. Edit: Also reported on page 24 of this thread.

Technically not a cool thing, but I noticed a typo..."vastness" is spelled "vasteness"...either that or my eyes are playing tricks on me... gunnerkrigg.com/?p=48

Noticed this on reread, although I checked and the forumites back then knew about it too: Jeanne says "A fine strike, fille" as Parley is kicking the blinkerstone from here hand 779. Fille is french for girl, maiden.

I just re-read the recent school year from "From the Forest She Came" and gosh golly I had a realization about Hetty. Helpful Hetty dolls come with hypodermic needles. So clearly they are given to children with severe allergies.
Hetty was a shrimp.
Adam's sister was severely allergic to shrimp.
This may be speculation, but she might have been killed by accidentally ingesting shrimp, and Hetty hid her hypodermic needles.

Probably too recent to count as a 'reread', but Ysengrin rooted himself in preparation for his fight in the last panel of this page...pretty clever and resourceful.

Necropost go! Re-reading through to find banner-worthy panoramas of the forest and court*..guess I'll just list things not already in this thread as I find them. - " BLESS THIS MESS" - Not "cool" per se, but " am awkward social moment" - Margo and John look almost exactly the same as at the beginning. *working on a random userstyle on-and-off to make the forum theme match the comic theme
Just noticed you've been expanding this over time And can you add a link to the second one?

Hey now. Just happened to be looking through the early part of the comic for … no particular reason at all. I noticed that when Reynardine possesses the stuffed toy on p54 Annie’s lock picks burst out of the toy for a moment in a manner reminiscent of the bones of the crippled wings of rogat orjak Reynardine’s spirit has just left. Brrr.

Oh, I found that Hetty burst into globs of goo after she got bitten. I wanted to write a fic on her, but that pretty much made me improvise tons.

I made it so that bits of the goo were left and she came back to life. Though it was miserable without a body, so she had to get into hr old burnt up one that was possibly just as uncomfortable. But at least then she's solid. I think I might make it a one sided HettyxRenard.
