Cool things I only noticed on a reread: #262: Kat is wearing Aly's shirt! Kat is wearing ALY'S SHIRT! #281: The direction of the shadows almost seem to indicate Coyote to be the main source of light for the scene. #337: Muut is looking at Annie with a head rotated at 180 o degrees -- like an owl. So, what cool things did *you* guys only notice on a reread?

Brilliant idea for a thread! Unfortunately, I have a hard time remembering which details I noticed on which reading. I'll post them as I remember them. Here's one I recall: #451: Willie is holding Janet's hat in the last frame.

#118& #119: The Tic Toc doesn't react to Annie falling, rather, Robot grabbing Reynardine.

#133 Didn't notice that Muut have owl claws for feet until I re-read the book recently.

[301] - Yes, it's a guest artist. But lots of goodies in its related discussion thread. [308] - Annie's uncharacteristically bubbly-happy. And her feet got dirty running through GC barefoot (barefeet?) And her smile in panel 2 is pure *heart* ... [309] - ... and also here. Mischievous... Gee, I fell in love with Annie... <3

#161 This has been mentioned elsewhere, but I totally glanced over panel 4 when I fist read this page. Annie adjusts here hair before seeing Mr. Eglamore.

#509 Only just noticed that one of the robots is wringing a cap in his hands. What's a robot doing with a cap? ;D Thanks to The Bandit for linking that page in the daily thread.

Hadn't previously. But those pages reminds me that she's still a normal girl.

[480] Another act of... uh, tenderness? by Jones on Eglamore. [484] Gosh... How can I miss this one? After Chuckles (Ysengrin) ribbed Eglamore for 'taking orders' from Annie, in the exact next frame it's HIM receiving orders from Annie. Eglamore somehow managed to hold down his mirth ;D

#118& #119: The Tic Toc doesn't react to Annie falling, rather, Robot grabbing Reynardine. LAUGHING ON LINE I just notice Robot returns to the court without wings EDIT: I just notice L0L turns into LAUGHING ON LINE

#118& #119: The Tic Toc doesn't react to Annie falling, rather, Robot grabbing Reynardine. My interpretation is that it went off when hostilities started, rather than BEEEE! or not BEEEE! at each individual action.

Looking back now I see that's not the case. Thanks for pointing that out.

[308]: Just noticed after pepoluan linked to it, that as Annie is talking about how Good Hope and the Court are alike, she is running around in a blue dress and barefoot, just like she did when she was a child in Good Hope, like here [123]Edit: Just remembered another one! [479]: Even though it's in the foreground of a panel, it was only when I got the book that I noticed Mr Eglamore breaks off the doorknob when he rushes out of the room. I was pretty amused!

The recurrence of a tertiary alchemical symbol, namely the one that is my avatar, Here, Here, and Here, probably other places too, anywhere that Elgamore is represented officially. Edit: Here too. Seems to be a recurring thing with the dragon slayers.

what does that symbol mean anyways? I'm not sure if it was ever explained what that really meant.
someone should set up a thread that lists the different symbols that lay around the comic. Bismuth is easy, but there's also ones like the one at the center of Anja's computer- the triangle around the spiral thing (forget what it's called exactly, but it's pretty easy to understand the different things it represents)

Jiminiminy's symbol is that of lead. There hasn't been anything official about what it stands for, but I suspect it has to do with shielding and protection, hence why it adorns the Dragon Slayer's armor. This symbol also appears on the facade of the Court facing the Forest.

And I like it how Tom also drew in the ubiquitous cellular tower in the first frame... something I also just noticed now ;D

When Annie exits the forest in #501, Eglamore looks to be carving something. Perhaps he is making a new beacon rod since he just gave his only one to Annie?

This thread is wtf fabulous. There are a couple things in here that I myself had noticed on one of my read-throughs, and others I hadn't noticed at ALL. Man! And I thought I was observant/obsessive XD I will see if I cant find anything new!

Also, as I was scanning the comic on a search for other instances of the circle-dot symbol, I noticed something I REALLY hadn't noticed before. When this page first appeared, a big deal was made about the meaning of 'Dulce et Decorum' and Morte's hallway. I had never noticed it was also here, when we first met Morte. Continuity for the win! Also, three posts in a row = I like this thread.

Cool things I only noticed on a reread: #262: Kat is wearing Aly's shirt! Kat is wearing ALY'S SHIRT! Great thread, great observation! Here's what I noticed: 1) www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=275Panel 4: Kat's parents are mortified by Coyote's mistake (assuming James was Annie's father). I love their faces 2) www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=119On the bridge, the details of the shadow's death are very specific (panels 4-7). Only after Robot's leg leaves the pavement does the shadow start to dissolve. It's not the sword that kills it, it's being disconnected from the object that is casting it.

Oh oh, here's one that I literally never noticed until about 30 seconds ago: On this page in the fifth panel, Kat is playing with Annie's hair as they're talking. I'm really surprised I never noticed that. ...and I probably never would have if someone hadn't necro-posted on a discussion thread from February, that happened to have a link to that page.

Here's another one: www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=164When giving Annie detention for falling off the bridge: Eglamore thinks that Reynardine tricked Annie into going on the bridge. She doesn't correct him. I guess she doesn't want to reveal her connection with the robot. Also, there's a little plaque in the background of panel 2 with the symbol of the Protector of the court (for comparison, see www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=52 panel 4) I guess James got that as a diploma when he finished his training

Perhaps the most subtle occurrence of the Bismuth symbol is in the bonus page for Coyote Stories: 504
