Upon rereading www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=607: the laser cows won't clear the grass around Sir Young's monument "for some reason"? -- It's because they were made by Diego, who we all know, is pretty much the opposite of Young's biggest fan. Do you think that maybe the cow's reaction here has anything to do with Eggers basically being a descendant of Young?

If anyone here read the Girly webcomic, you will get this reference. I'm not sure if this find was posted before by someone else before me, but... The brown-haired boy sitting in front of Annie in the first panel is wearing a shirt with the letter "O" on it. I'm guessing this is a shout out to Josh Lesnick's webcomic, Girly. In Girly, a character named Otra is a fashion designer who is famous for her "O" logo on her clothing. I am almost certain it's a shout out because on Lesnick's current webcomic website, he provides a links to cool webcomics to check out, one of the links was a link to Gunnerkrigg Court. Perhaps Tom and Josh are friends. Furthermore, on this page... ...on the stomach of the big, light-brown bear, we see Marshmallow Kitty, a white cat also from Lesnick's Girly webcomic! See Marshmallow Kitty below.

Tom also did a guest comic for Girly. He did?! Oh my gosh, I had no idea! I haven't read Girly since the webcomic actually ended. May you post a link, please? Thank you! :'D Edit: I found it, hehe. Thanks for letting me know, though!

Probably not so much a descendant of Young than someone who took up the dragonslayer mantle that Young had back in his day.

This is not really a “cool thing” that I noticed, but I'm very observant of the clothes Kat wears. I noticed her shirt in the pages below because I have a shirt exactly like hers (not the V-neck kind, but the crew-neck kind)! But no one cares about that. Anyway. On this page, it is clear that Kat is wearing a blue V-neck with a black V-shaped collar. "]But then later in the chapter, on this page, Kat's V-neck is now a regular T-shirt with a black crew-neck collar. "]I love Kat's tomboyish style.

There's also a reference in that pile of toys to Achewood (the two toys in front of the cow are the characters Ray and Roast Beef), and probably also references other webcomics I'm not familiar with. Tom does these references from time to time.

and probably also references other webcomics I'm not familiar with. The blue stuffed animal in front of the largest teddy bear is a Jinxlet from Starslip.

Jones shows no emotions b/c jeanne is all her emotions/spirit Ooh, good catch! A lot of people have said that Jeanne looks like Jones, but I haven't seen anyone say that Jones is actually Jeanne. (I'm sorta new here and perhaps someone already claimed it.) But Jones and Jeanne are names that are uncannily similar. Sorta. Anyway. I remembering hearing something similar to your post. Read these people's posts! They're closely tied with yours! :O And for some reason I'm starting to wonder not as much about what she is, rather than when exactly did she come to the Court and how much does she know about Jeanne. If it was right after those events, like if she was to fix it somehow perhaps? I'm still wondering about the reaction here: www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=590Earlier she said she had no knowledge about Jeanne. Did she ever lie? Or just avoid answer? Could be avoiding the answer because she is Jeanne? [...]Jones is.......an android made by Diego to resemble Jeanne! And that's why she's attracted to Sir Young-ish types. She has daddy issues.[...]

Also, Jeanne has been shown lying at the bottom of the ravine. She's bones, not Jones.

Besides, the current strip has gone centuries before Jeanne was even born.

People referring back to the treatises for possible Jones references have made me realise it's now almost exactly the same number of strips since the Fourth Treatise as passed between the Third and the Fourth... it would make sense to get the Fifth Treatise after this chapter since Tom seems to be trying for relatively consistent lengths for each "Book" of GC. The Fourth Treatise came after Fire Spike, and I could see this chapter being similarly revelatory.

The averages for his chapter page totals are all over the place, so I didn't think he had any rhyme to how many chapters were in a treatise.

Jeanne and Diego were present at the initial splitting of Court and Forest. Perhaps the reason that Jeanne was interested in the forest creatures (read: Kamlen) at all. linky

Comics 772-3 show that they were involved pre-splitting.
Also, Kamlen is a contemporary character, not that guy.

Yeah, kamlen is of the same race as the green guy that Jeanne had a romance with, but whether he is of the same clan or family as the green guy is unknown.

Something I noticed, with all the Jones discussion going on recently... www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=560Down below Kat and Annie's hands, next to the sword. This was the first treatise since Jones really became a major character, and there's a Venus figurine. Hmmmm.

Yeah, that's where the talk about the Venus came from, really ^^;
