In the final frame of the latest page (595 for accuracy's sake) is Reynardine in a completly new form or is he just being drawn in more detail/in a different style?

Are the 'researchthumbs' on the streams page a hint of things to come Book 2-wise, or just wip's?

(Don't mind me butting in) That's the cover for Book 2 that Tom was streaming earlier this week. The first thumb is a WIP and the second is the finished cover.

When Antimony falls off the bridge, she lands in the water and swims to the court side. This made sense to me, because I thought that nothing could cross the annan waters. However, there were both forest fairies and shadow 2 (and later Ysengrin) on the court side. A possible explanation is that Annie ended up on the forest side, but that only means that she/the tic-tocs crossed the river. Maybe they flew her over halfway to the court side and air travel over the waters is okay?
So my question is: Are the Annan Waters impassable, and if so, how did either Annie or the other characters get across?
Thanks in advance!

She fell off the bridge at the half-way point and the birds dropped her off near the forest side.

...I thought it was obvious that Annie ended up on the forest side. For the reasons you mentioned, and also because she expressed concern about being taken to that particular side.
EDIT: Redundant post is redundant.

Maybe people keep on thinking that Annie ended up on the Court side (despite all the evidence that she landed on the forest side) because they like the idea of Jeanne's ghost regularly being on the forest side.

Congratulations on 600 GC comics posted! What will you do to celebrate when you've drawn 1000?

Congratulations on 600 GC comics posted! What will you do to celebrate when you've drawn 1000? Actually, it's only 598. There was no 44 or 131. Also, there were 4 guest strips in Summer Vacation. Not sure if they count.

But 1000 mod 3 is one, which would make it a Friday page, so if you're in sinc with the updates, that should be your last comic to draw that weekend.

Right. Tom draws 3 pages per weekend, and a script displays them at the appointed time, three times a week. If Tom's drawing is in sync with the pages coming up, then a Friday page will be the last page he works on on a given weekend. Though of course the weekend that a page is drawn on will be several weeks in advance of when it is published/displayed.

Though of course the weekend that a page is drawn on will be several weeks in advance of when it is published/displayed. Of course that assumes Tom draw exactly 3 pages per weekend. He's not a machine, he's an artist! :-) so, it is possible he draw in spurts. 4 pages this weekend, 5 pages the next weekend, no pages the weekend after :-) Anyways - not to be pedantic, mind you - 1000 mod 3 *is* 1, shouldn't that be Monday edition? Because Friday is mod 3 = 0. So that means - supposing Tom syncs - he *will* draw pages 1001 and 1002 during the same weekend, no?

Judging by twitter updates, he does indeed do three pages per weekend. Tom is amazingly studious in this manner! Although, in this thread it's better to ask for confirmation, than assume. You may be right after all.
As for why I said 1000 is Friday, is because this Friday's page was 601, which is congruent to 1 mod 3. So any page that modulo 3 is 1 is a Friday page, until the next break. Updates have not always been 3 days a week, since initially the comic updated Tuesdays and Thursdays, and since the two sets of bonus page weeks updated daily; therefore, you cannot assume that Friday maps to pages congruent to 0 mod 3. I should have explained my logic thoroughly when I made my post. I meant to only point out that page 1000 is likely to be the last page Tom would do that weekend, but that was begging the question of why I thought that.
Anyway, having hopefully explained myself I suggest we leave the topic be. This is the Questions to Tom thread, not a discussion thread.

aha, thanks for the exposition, King Mir.
Now for a question to Tom: Are there a lot of students in the Court who can't speak English? How are they to receive their lessons, then?

Hi Tom!
Sorry if this question's been asked already or if this interferes with plot, but I've been wondering about etherics and awareness of them at the court. In Chapter 21, Kat seems surprised that Annie believes in magic, but she's seen talking dolls and shadows, faeries, ghosts, demons, psychopomps, etc. Are creatures like that a matter of fact in the Gunnerkrigg world? I'm really not sure where I'm going with this, but I was surprised that Kat seemed so put out by the idea that magic may exist in some form, especially after what she's seen.

Minor correction: Kat has not seen faeries or demons- those were only seen by Annie.

This thread is becoming less and less one of questions to Tom, and more and more a thread of people commenting on each other's questions. A bit annoying.
Here's an actual question to Tom: What's your policy on fan translations? I was thinking of possibly eventually translating the first chapter or so to Greek, if I find the time. I'd like to know if that's okay before I start - whether you're okay with me uploading said translated chapter pages to DeviantArt, etc.
Also - what font are you using in the comic?

Minor correction: Kat has not seen faeries or demons- those were only seen by Annie. But still, when Annie spoke of meeting fairies and demons, Kat had no difficulty accepting their existence.

Question for Tom: The sprawling, empty, industrial-ish landscape of Gunnerkrigg Court reminds me quite a bit of Ico. Was it an inspiration for the design of the Court?

Hullo Tom. I've got a question about the site, as opposed to the comic itself.
I really like how you've set up the GKC site. I read before that the system you use already has your buffer that you've made. What system is it that you use to manage the comic?
