Sorry for two questions in a row, but:
In Chapter Fourteen, Ysengrin talks about how the "dead" Tic-Toc Bird was taking root in the ground, and the panel showed lots of machinery sprouting from its body, complete with glowing lights and even an apparent miniature satellite dish.
In Chapter Fifteen, we find out that Ysengrin had buried the Tic-Toc Bird shortly after Annie and Kat's departure in Chapter Eight, so he wasn't telling the whole truth to the Court about it. But was he telling the truth about all the machinery sprouting out from its body months later? (I hope so, since I thought it was a great piece of imagery.)

While on the subject of Ketrak - in the scene in Chapter Twenty-one when Annie's talking to him, we see what looks like the vague outline of a multi-legged caterpillar-like creature sitting up (at least, that's what it resembles to me). Is that a hint at what Ketrak looks like? Only a hint to his size. Muut had the same kind of swirling outline to him.

Only a hint to his size. Muut had the same kind of swirling outline to him. So at least Ketrak isn't a giant insect. (Though he must be one of the busiest of the Guides, in light of how many insects there are in the world.)

Hi Tom,
I really enjoy your comic, and the facinating mystery that weaves it's way through the plot. I also want to say that the comic you drew for the interview with you and boxbot was quite hysterical. So much so, that I actually began to tear.
Question: What is the joke behind boxbot? I went to it's first introduction, but there wasn't anything mentioned. I know it kind of ruins the joke, but I am just so curious.
Also, from what I have read in the forums, it seems that Gunnerkrigg is located in England. If so, the pictures of the landscape seem very expansive, so does Gunnerkrigg and Gillite take up the entirety of England?

Are we going to be seeing a Spacemonauts adventure from every year of Annie's time at Gunnerkrigg?
Edit: Another couple of questions: is it even possible to figure out how and why magic works (which is what the humans of Gillitie Wood wanted to know, resulting in their rebellion and founding of Gunnerkrigg Court), or is it in its very nature to be un-figure-out-able?
And does the name Gunner's Crag refer to a person named Gunner?

Do you realize that the City Face banner is still on the main page? Also, when are the new chapter thumbnails going to arrive for the bottom of the page? Will City Face get one?

Can you tell us anything about Zimmy's parents, or will they be showing up in the comic at some point?

Would the Court be big enough to show up on a map of the whole UK? If so, would it indicated on a typical map?

The joke about Boxbot stems purely from Tom's comments about him bellow the commic he first apears and from the chapter 18 bonus page. Apparently people like being told what to think.

@kingmir "Apparently people like being told what to think."? Have you noticed that GC is a comic? It is supposed to tell people fictional stuff.

My goodness, has all this hot weather just got everyone acting like jerks recently?
Tom, do you read any other webcomics and if so what are your favourites? Sorry if you have answered this before, I wasn't sure and I am always looking for new webcomics to read!

Tom, I don't know why I never thought to ask this before, but it came up in conversation with some other fans...
Is there any place where one might be able to see some samples of your real-world modelling work that you do for a living? I'll bet it's ultra fine and triple sweet! I was just passingly curious...
Edit: Or is it animation? I feel like a bad fan that I can't remember now...

I've been going through the previous question topics and I was wondering, has the way you draw the comic changed since you gave the answer to a similar question about 2/3 the way down this topic page?

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off that way. I find the whole phenomena fascinating. @kingmir "Apparently people like being told what to think."? Have you noticed that GC is a comic? It is supposed to tell people fictional stuff. Warning the bellow dissects the BoxBot joke (more thoroughly than above)Yes, but it is one thing to express a scene and have people react to it. It is another to define a character by the way we are supposed to react to it. The likability and terrible-ness isn't normally the kind of thing that is stated as fact, as it is subjective to each reader. Thus the humor. And thus my statement that people apparently like being told how to think.

What's funny about box-bot is that the characters react to it as "terrible" and it is sort of unclear why. There's both humor and pathos there - clearly Boxbot often tries to "help" but is somehow bad at it.
We readers have chosen to continue the joke.
It's not a matter of "enjoing being told what to think" it's simply that the idea of basically a little robot that always recieves a negative reaction is really funny.
So basically, it's not that we make jokes about Boxbot because we like Tom telling us to think Boxbot is terrible, it's that we make jokes about Boxbot because we think the concept of a character/item which always gets a negative reaction regardless of context is funny.

I'm fairly confident that Tom would prefer we don't discuss things in the Questions for Tom threads.

Did Surma and the others participate in anything vaguely like Dr. Disaster's classes?

I was just curious if any new Gunnerkrigg Court books are going to be released ? I just purchased a copy of the one that's out and it's superb quality ! It really physically surpassed what I expected it to be. The publisher did an excellent job !

Gunnerkrigg Court has been quite enjoyable so far ^_^ and congratulations on your award from ForeWord! ~ If Smitty had not known about card suites, might the cards have fallen in a different order? Or, Are the results of Smitty's ordering based on his knowledge of the situation?

Does Dr. Disaster's class have a name? And if so, what is it called? (Spacemonauting 101?)
