Ulysses, you totally have my vote for Kat's dad. Your Scottish accent makes me feel like I'm 5 years old and I'm being read a story. Love it.
Also in regards to Coyote's laugh, I also imagined it like a Hyena. I tried to make it quite shrill when I did my audition, but I also added in some chuckling and giggling. I imagine Coyote always has a faint hint of laughter in his voice, no matter what he's saying.

I just realized that my rendering of FuzzyOne's audition sort of cuts off at the end. I should fix that, eh?

It sounds more likely to be the microphone than the OS. Its' picking up more Ambient noise than voice... Or perhaps the receiver portion has a bad connection of some sort, and the energy passing through it is triggering a response... Like on some televisions when a color appears on the screen, it makes the speakers whine. It's because the projector portion is too close to the component that generates the sound for the speakers. Granted, it doesn't happen as often if at all with FLat TVs, but Perhaps those who still, like me, have an old-style TV around would be able to relate.
Long and the short, You probably need a new microphone. I spotted a handheld Mic with Great-big-plug-to-computer-jack adapter last time I was at the store for less than 10 bucks. Your electronics department may vary.

I was going to go into town at the weekend anyway, so I'll have a look around for a decent mic. I get the feeling it's not the mic though, because the integrated mic does it too. I guess I'll find out.

Less than a week to go until the deadline peoples !

That's right, Aricos... and the total number of people who auditioned in the course of this last week? Just one! So I'm getting the impression that all the people who want to audition already have. And yet there are SOO many parts remaining!
So here's what I think I'm going to do. I'll go ahead and say that Chapters 3 and 4 will close two weeks from today. That's a lot of main characters. I don't want the auditions to drag on so long that people lose interest.
But what I think we all need to do now is get the word out. Post in the comic comments, tell your friends who you know reads and likes the comic... just get more people in here. Preferably ones who are not shy and have good voices!

I just registered because I'm interested in this project (and the forums do look like fun). Here is my audition for Jones, who seems to be a very popular character. It's very fun to listen to the auditions. Sometimes I hear a voice that is not at all like I imagined the character, but turn out to work rather well for the part. Edit: I should mention that the lines are from pages 366-369, 376, 378 and 382.

Hi Leela, your audition has been added to the master list. Thanks, by the way, for listing the page numbers... it makes my life a lot easier!

Thanks!
I'm playing around with a huskier version of that voice (which I prefer), but I probably shouldn't resubmit my audition so soon. So I guess I would like some feedback from someone... at your leisure, of course.

I'll have a go at some bit parts if I can find the time, but I'm pretty busy at the moment so we'll have to see how it goes. I think I'll have a go at the teachers and the Clown (although I don't speak Spanish ^_^)

I'm still working on the transcript for the next chapter. It's taking longer than I anticipated.

I'd like to also toss my name in the hat for Bit parts as needed. The more I can help out, the better. Incidentally, if anyone can suggest a good program to use to record for a newly converted Linux user... Ubuntu, if it matters...

Hey guys, I'm back from a rather long forum break. I love all the auditions, though I keep looking back at my own and thinking "gawd I could've done that so much better." Ah well. Glad to see this has grown so huge since I've been gone!

Well you know if you think you could have done better, then just go ahead and do so! I can put up a second audition for the same part, or even replace the existing one with a new one. That goes for anybody... feel free to give people more to judge by!

I was reading Chapter 14: The Fangs of Summertime in the book yesterday, and found myself realising that it would be so much fun to read it doing the voices for every single character. Yes, even the girls/women. I was thinking of p269-289 in particular (the meeting in the hall). If I'm feeling particularly mad I might even try to do it in a single take Watch out for that next week or the week after.

Just about TWO DAYS left to submit auditions for Chapters 1 and 2!
If you're even thinking about adding an audition for one of those roles, please speak up right away! If you need help getting the audition done and uploaded, I'm sure we can help with that.
Time is ticking!

I just got my headset microphone back from my flatmate. I think I might have a go at the Unnamed Teacher from the end of Chapter One tommorow.
I can record it as a WMA file using Windows Voice Recorder, what should I do from then?

You can insert into a Windows Movie Maker movie and upload it to our YouTube channel (see first post of this thread) or upload it to any other place on the internet if you're just doing the audio part, and either way, link it in this thread so that I can add it to the first page.
If you decide to go the YouTube route, send me a PM and I'll get you the password for the channel.

Hey guys. So with some time dedicated over the last three days, I have put together my first audition. Pretty exciting. Anyway, I bit the bullet and chose the unnamed teacher and read, well, I read all the material possible - Ch.1 Pg. 15Yes. Three days work, reduced to mere seconds. Awesome.

I've added your audition, Neil. Unfortunately it was VERY quiet, but when I turned my volume way up, I could hear it and it sounded good.
Personally I think you should consider auditioning for more than just a but part. But then XanBcoo told me the same thing and I haven't gotten off the fence about that either...

Bisected8, your auditions have been added to the master list. Thanks!
You guys, please do remember that you all are not limited to only auditioning for roles for which there are no, or few, submissions! I don't care at all if we have like seven or eight different people auditioning for one role. If you think you can handle the volume of lines that a role will call for, and you think you would do well with that character's voice, please submit an audition! It's not too late! (Well, it's almost too late, if you don't hurry it up, for the characters introduced in Chapters 1 and 2...)

I'm going to nip home in about an hour and a half to record some bits. Just so's people know I'm intending to do some for Chaps. 1 and 2. I'll get them in on time, don't worry.

I've added it to the master list. I don't know if it's just me, but a number of the auditions I've added recently have been, to my ears, very quiet. But when I turned up my volume all the way, I could hear you just fine.

But when I turned up my volume all the way, I could hear you just fine. I forgot to make mine louder . Sorry about that . By the way, I was thinking, would young Surma, Anthony, Eglamore, Anja, Donald and Jones sound the same as their old version? I know a lot of guys at least sound a whole lotta different when they get older :/.

I've been thinking about that too, but fortunately, that isn't something we'll have to worry about for many chapters. I suppose it depends on the flexibility of those that get cast in their adult roles.
