Oh sht. I overlooked the most obvious reason. Anja and Surma were besties. Surma may have had about everything she wanted (see my previous posts this thread) but the Donlans were starting a family. Anthony likely just wanted to give Surma whatever Surma wanted. That's probably the biggest reason why they took off and had a kid when they did.
