If I wasn’t so attached to my current avatar, that Kat is choice.

Kat seeing them the same way as the others are, no illusions here. Is that a sapling of Yggdrasil they're carrying too? Possibly?

Little Kat looks incredibly similar to Tsuyu Asui.

1. I hope Kat cuts her hair like that soon. 2. I wonder if it's significant that there's only 1 Annie? It could be that they're seeing the same thing so showing both would be redundant, or it could be interpreted as a sign that we will only have 1 Annie in the future. ETA - It seems like we're seeing forest Annie with the long hair.

2 Annies, 2 Annies, any advance on 2 Annies, yes I have 3 Annies from the Norns in the corner, 3 Annies, going once..

I have to wonder, what Jones would see? IF she were ever allowed to see the Norns, I think she could differentiate the three just by their clothes.
Maybe past her would be dirtier, though. It seemed she only cared about cleaning herself after humans developed civilizations.

It could be that they're seeing the same thing so showing both would be redundant, or it could be interpreted as a sign that we will only have 1 Annie in the future. 1. I assume it will take as long as it took for her to grow up from that little child to her present age. 2. Pretty sure it's just the panel composition. Doubling the first panel would have made everything look weird.
Interesting that child-Anja still looks obviously older than child-Annie and child-Kat. I can't help but thinking about how the algorithm determining the appeareances exact ages looks like.

Somehow that seems really appropriate for the Norns.
Also it ties back into the notion that you create your own fate.

I had a thought that this might happen but, while I'd like to claim the cookies, it seems I didn't get the forms in. Oh well. Kudos to Per instead.

Ooh! Just realised that middle Annorn (aka Verdandi) is mimicking Forest Annie.

Perhaps, everybody who meets the Noms sees three versions of themselves. Child, Adult, Elderly. This definitely calls for three cookies. One old, one fresh and one still baking. I like how you went and thought that your vision of the Norns depends on your current age, but my mind went straight to "Oh no, Annie and Kat don't grow older than that do they?". I do wonder how "real" the future self is. Is it just a projection (as in taking what can be expected from the current situation), or actually what you'll look like at that age? In the latter case, seeing the Norns would let you know about scars or even missing limbs. And if it works by letting see your 30 years ago, and 30 years later when you're 40, but you die at 50, I wonder what the older Norn would look like.

Nice "the mother the crone and the maid" thing they got going there.
But Kat somehow seems very ageless in her "old" iteration. Maybe she will not age because she reached immortal status, or maybe she will just die young?

When I first saw the first panel, I thought for a split second that those were "very young", "today", and "very old" images, so it was implicitly saying that Annie was going to never get older than that (due to the fire elemental thing), and that was really sad. But looking at the other panels I think that it's more of a relative thing, e.g. everyone sees themselves, themselves at half or a bit less of their current age(?), and themselves at double or a bit more of that age. With some wiggle room. That would explain why "old" Kat is also not really that old, and why "young" Anja is more of a teen or young adult than a child.
As for Jones, she seems to be following the expected scientific history of the Earth, so maybe she would see two copies of herself, plus whatever she would look like when the Sun engulfs the Earth (maybe nothing if that's what finally kills her). Alternatively, since she has no connection to the ether and limited "imagination", maybe she just sees some bland stand-in for the Norns, rather than copies of herself. Like when Kat was in the RotD and saw everything as kind of fake looking decorations.

Maybe past her would be dirtier, though. It seemed she only cared about cleaning herself after humans developed civilizations. You know what? My first thought was that she really is "not alive" in the sense of not having anything that could be thought of as a thread of Fate.

Annie:*talks about meeting the Norns to Jones* Jones: oh yes the Norns, I've met a peble, a stone and a rock who called themselves that in the past.

Seeing the norns immediately causes you to reflect on your life.
