Anyone else getting a little bit of smug satisfaction seeing Anja just as thrown off by all this as the girls?

to a teen being 20 something is old AF I can confirm that from the perspective of the mid-50s, what Anja sees is precisely how I would think of it myself. (And well done on that, Tom.) "Old" Annie is in her 20s. "Old" Kat is probably in her late 40s. "Old" Anja is in her 80s. Did anyone else think this might have something to do with their death time, particularly given the chance Annie might have a child?

Nice "the mother the crone and the maid" thing they got going there. But Kat somehow seems very ageless in her "old" iteration. Maybe she will not age because she reached immortal status, or maybe she will just die young? "Old" Annie doesn't look old at all either, and I'm really worried about the potential implications

It's a past/present/future thing, not a child/adult/elderly thing.
So I don't think people need worry.

Seeing the norns immediately causes you to reflect on your life. "I shouldn't have planted that sapling!" (I can't have been the only one who found it obvious that this is relative past-present-future rather than absolute maiden-mother-crone.)

I will admit, I was somewhat confused at first and I thought we were starting out today with some very unusual fanart.

1. I hope Kat cuts her hair like that soon. 2. I wonder if it's significant that there's only 1 Annie? It could be that they're seeing the same thing so showing both would be redundant, or it could be interpreted as a sign that we will only have 1 Annie in the future. 1. I assume it will take as long as it took for her to grow up from that little child to her present age. 2. Pretty sure it's just the panel composition. Doubling the first panel would have made everything look weird. Interesting that child-Anja still looks obviously older than child-Annie and child-Kat. I can't help but thinking about how the algorithm determining the appeareances exact ages looks like.
1. Someone proposed a while ago that the main girls hair length varies depending on mood, after seeing how hot future she is that could definitely be soon; 2. That was my conclusion as well; And I could guess the algorithm go as such: - Present Norn look like present viewer;
- Past Norn is half the age of present viewer;
- Future Norn is current + half the age of present viewer.
I have to wonder, what Jones would see? Based on the assumption above, Jones would see: - Naked Dirty Jones (because why cover herself 2,2 billion years ago)
- Jones
- Steamy Soaked and Probably Naked Again Jones (because the oceans are boiling at this point)
But then again, the Norns seems to keep their clothes independent of the viewer, so that's probably definitely me overthinking it

Anja is already in her early 40s right now, with the character lines to show it, so Kat looking like she does there and being older strikes me as unlikely, unless magic. Late 20s, early 30s for both Annie and Kat feels right.

Okay, so everyone is talking about future Kat, and she does look quite nice, but can we talk about how pretty future Annie looks?
Anja being surprised is kinda weird, but refreshing. Nice to see people who are supposed to be prepared for anything surprised for once. Still kinda weird she knew about the norns but not about this? I'd assumed she heard from Brinnie, but maybe she really only knew the myth.

I'm surprised no one mentioned it yet, but the Norns on the previous page appear to be blonde. Maybe we're seeing how Brinnie saw them?

Maybe its nothing, but Courtney's expression is slightly different from Frannie's... maybe an element of "Oh cr*ap, none of them is me!" ?

Anja looks older because it addresses past, present and future, propbably proportionally shifted.

it implies they are going to get taller late as hell or Anja gets the old person slump posture

Plot twist: The period between young self's age and the moment you were born is the same as between old self's age and the moment you will die! ...Annie and Kat should really stop messing with dangerous things.

Id say: present = current age past = (current age)/4 future = (current age)x2
that'd put past Annie/Kat at about 4, Anja about 11 future Annie/Kat about 35, Anja, say 88

At least they all have future selves. What if your Future Self was gone, or looked exactly like your Present Self? That would be worrisome.
It's interesting that there's no Present Annie who looks like Court Annie, but that could just be because drawing two sets of Annie Norns would have messed up the parallelism; perhaps Court Annie does see a present self who looks just like her. Or maybe it's that they're seeing their ideal present self, which would raise the question of why Court Annie would see her ideal self as having long hair and no (or less) makeup. Perhaps that ties into why Anthony can't "be himself" around her, but can do so around Forest Annie. Court Annie wears makeup as a way of keeping her mother present, emotionally, and because of that, Anthony is effectively not alone with her when alone with her, so he can't relax. But here, the vision you see is just you, nobody else.
This does kind of support my theory that Forest Annie is still our main viewpoint character.

I wonder if there is any significance to the fact that "present" Annie has long hair, and not short. Maybe both Annies are seeing the same thing, or maybe short hair annie is seeing something different that is shocking her?

Personally, Future Kat's hairstyle is always a good look. Perhaps, everybody who meets the Noms sees three versions of themselves. Child, Adult, Elderly. This definitely calls for three cookies. One old, one fresh and one still baking. It wouldn't be the first time, that my blind throwing of darts, resulted in a near hit. Why does the local pub's landlord keep kicking me out, with results like that? Besides, eye-patches are cool, right?

I now wonder what a man would see if he saw the Norns. Would they have female bodies still, or would they acquire a male physique? Since futurum-Anja has a different height it would seem the body is affected by the eye of the beholder.
Also: I echo Mr. Siddell's comment about the poll for favorite character closing today; if you haven't cast your votes yet, today is the last day to do so.

"Old" Anja is taller than "present-day" Anja which shouldn't be possible* and that suggests to me that this is based on the relative expectations of the individual Norn-viewer. Their future-selves may be just what they think of when they think of themselves in the future, or possibly them as old as they each think of themselves as old, and their young-selves may be what they think of themselves as young or in the past. *Unless Anja is still growing, or magic, or something like that. Which means this is what Jones would see if she looked at the Norns:

On the previous page, the Norns are pretty close to the rocks; maybe the elder Norn, who is in the back, is has just stepped up on the rocks for better visibility and so just looks taller...

While I'm slightly heartbroken that we didn't get to see a bunch of thick-browed ladies, this visual is just as interesting. I hope the effort to show all 3 perceptions also means that all 4 of them will be told something by the Norn. At the very least, Anja gets a sneak peek of what's ahead of her - an increasingly smaller forelock.

Oh! I only just realised those 3 panels are what each of them sees the Norns as. I can't believe I didn't realise that. I've read (watched) this page like 20 times already by now
