Yes I know it's a silly habit. I've never really been a fan of anything, but I guess I'm a Gunnerkrigg fan now, and fans are supposed to do stupid stuff like this... It's not stupid stuff, it's dedication stuff! So, seen or heard any good ones today?

Actual general discussion now: I just recently joined reddit. You guys frequent the GC subreddit there or is it "stand-alone", as it were? No, I didn't join because of the waistcoat-gendered identifying subreddit that was brought up. Edit: Now that I did spend a few minutes on said subreddit, I now understand what people meant by when they say (to the effect of) "I just got less intelligent from witnessing your [published material]". But the dictionary was enlightening, I give it that.

Fuck that's delicious.

I did not know this was a thing, that this thing was going to be, or that this thing had been. (I live under a rock, called my uni work =_=) It looks awesome, like the internet maded it but I just read it isn't (Thanks TVTropes).

It's not subtle, true, but I loved it in the same way people love any large, splashy movie. It was just fun to go see Also, TVTropes ruins your life.

Also, TVTropes ruins your life. And enhances it (mostly).

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the total length of Gunnerkrigg Court, in words*? *so far The Spanish translation, including a bit of commenting, is slightly over 12000 words so far, and still only perhaps 1/10 done, leading to a guess of perhaps 120,000 words. But just looking at it, I think some of the earlier pages were wordier than those we find now...so it would yield less.

(In game) We should create a GKC-forum-goers cult to help each other there haha I'm game. I have just started a character namd "agunner" just to explore persuasive skill storylines. Send me invites, preferably those with low risk because I already have Suspicion at 2! I have sent invites to both Eyemyself and fwipsy. I could also start another character on another machine if anyone wants the rewards for "Invite a friend to join you". PM me and I will reply with a single purpose email address.

Oh god, oh god, oh god this game is deep and dark and complex and I'm just getting into some really morally squishy story lines. I'm hooked. And maybe a little traumatized.

What're you mixed up in right now? I just finished the case of the missing Contessa. There is no good outcome on that case... I looked it up in the wiki after. This game is giving me chills. I'm hooked. I am a sucker for dark, complex, well constructed story driven games. Although, if I'm not careful nightmares are gonna get me. Anyone up for a confession of fears?

On another note, now that I have Ghostery installed, I find it horrifying how many tracking services are watching you on every website, including this one.

On another note, now that I have Ghostery installed, I find it horrifying how many tracking services are watching you on every website, including this one. Sweet merciful mother of crap. On the plus side, I'm pretty sure a lot of websites are loading up a tiny bit faster with all the trackers blocked. On the minus side, I am now going to turn even more paranoid and reclusive than I already was. Just one more trip out to the store to buy some tin foil, then it's nothing but sitting here for the rest of my life, surfing from site to site and staring balefully at the lower right corner of my screen after every click.

That lets you block tracking as you please. Mind you, some services won't work if you've got the wrong script blocked, but it can keep the worst trackers off your back. I don't know how Ghostery works, but NoScript blocks everything by default, nothing gets activated unless you specifically allow it.

Ghostery blocks all trackers when you configure it that way, but not other scripts. I know that it's less secure than NoScript, but I hear the NoScript for Chrome is really glitchy.
