In the previous thread: Hopefully it shows both Bingo! You win one internet! This sort of thing always makes me wonder whether for some pages, Tom draws the next comic after he sees comments. Perhaps he liked this idea better. On a different note, does this mean that Annie knows that the two are going out? Respond.

Haahahahha. "Seriously, guys. I'm not a psycho!"I know right I wonder if Annie did it on purpose to freak them out or if she was just stating the truth.

What an awkward situation for Paz. It is fortunate, then, that she is too freaked out to feel awkward. That is only because we don't get to see the next 30 seconds.

Alright, well, we're all in agreement that Antimony looked like an ax murderer in the last panel?

It's interesting to think how differently that line would've come across had Ysengrin died.

Comments are rejoicing with us. Mostly. It is fortunate, then, that she is too freaked out to feel awkward. That is only because we don't get to see the next 30 seconds. Paz probably will not run away with "IAAAYYYYYYY!". But will not get over it too quickly either, unless Annie will "help", and she's having too much fun for that.

Paz: "Meh. It could be worse. At least, she's not a clown."
This page made my day.

I don't know; her eyes seem to say that she hadn't thought about how awful that sounds until just now. I think her eyes say, "I know exactly how this sounds; I must make sure my expression matches". Agreed

Sometimes it seems like the comments and the forum are two groups of survivors from the same shipwreck, trapped on different islands.

Wouldn't that be "unless you get caught"?

What we read are pages he wrote and drew some time ago. I think we just have a lot of very insightful fans that are great at "calling it". You ask, Does Annie Know? Last time Tom said anything about that was page 1206 with his "Annie does not know yet", I think that is still true. But I am open to speculation! And I think she will learn soon.

A thousand-odd monkeys pounding away on typewriters will eventually write the first seven maxims of Hagakure. It bears stating that 1000 even monkeys eventually will write the first six. ... I had never heard of these maxims of Hagakure before reading your comment. Interesting. I think this applies. "Matters of great concern should be treated lightly." Way to take a quote out of context.

*snaps* I remember now! The way Annie's expression is drawn reminds me of novel illustrations by Quentin Blake! If you ever read Roald Dahl's The Witches, you've seen his work. Quentin Blake, and Shel Silverstein. Sometimes it seems like the comments and the forum are two groups of survivors from the same shipwreck, trapped on different islands. Truth, man. I'm pretty sure Annie totally knows what effect her response is having on the gamer girls. Either something she realized when dealing with Jones or her sense of humour is finally blossoming.

I had never heard of these maxims of Hagakure before reading your comment. Interesting. I think this applies. "Matters of great concern should be treated lightly." Way to take a quote out of context. The seven I like most: - Singlemindedness is all-powerful.
- Tether even a roasted chicken.
- Continue to spur a running horse.
- A man who will criticize you openly carries no connivance.
- A man exists for a generation, but his name lasts to the end of time.
- Money is a thing that will be there when asked for. A good man is not so easily found.
- Walk with a real man one hundred yards and he'll tell you at least seven lies.
There are so many good lines in there, I make a point to re-read it at least once a year. Almost everything Yamamoto Tsunetomo says is directly applicable to today. It's a little spooky. "It is said that what is called "the spirit of an age" is something to which one cannot return. That this spirit gradually dissipates is due to the world's coming to an end. For this reason, although one would like to change today's world back to the spirit of one hundred years or more ago, it cannot be done. Thus it is important to make the best out of every generation."
"It is a wretched thing that the young men of today are so contriving and so proud of their material posessions. Men with contriving hearts are lacking in duty. Lacking in duty, they will have no self-respect."
“When one is writing a letter, he should think that the recipient will make it into a hanging scroll.”
“There is surely nothing other than the single purpose of the present moment. A man's whole life is a succession of moment after moment. There will be nothing else to do, and nothing else to pursue. Live being true to the single purpose of the moment.”
"There is something to be learned from a rainstorm. When meeting with a sudden shower, you try not to get wet and run quickly along the road. But doing such things as passing under the eaves of houses, you still get wet. When you are resolved from the beginning, you will not be perplexed, though you still get the same soaking."
"Even if it seems certain that you will lose, retaliate. Neither wisdom nor technique has a place in this. A real man does not think of victory or defeat. He plunges recklessly towards an irrational death. By doing this, you will awaken from your dreams."

Paz: "Meh. It could be worse. At least, she's not a clown." (Annie puts one hand over her face with outstretched fingers, slowly crumples up the skin and pulls it away to reveal the red and white paint underneath) "By the way, I am a clown."
