I tried something a bit different.. ..emphasis on "tried" I love it! I tried shrinking it to 150x150, might work if you move the lettering around a bit

The focal point in this is the blue, because its the greatest contrast with the grey. Is it what you were aiming for? I guess..I was more looking for somewhere to fit in the blue background and there was a convenient light area. ( original for reference) I love it! I tried shrinking it to 150x150, might work if you move the lettering around a bit I couldn't really get the lettering to work well enough for this.. the middle part itself is about 150x150 so that doesn't leave much room. It works pretty well on its own though, if you kind of ignore the outline

The final touch would be to add the original background clipped to the blue area.

...again, that totally flew past me. Explanation, anyone? Did you try clicking the link Gotolei put up and going to the original source in the comic? [edit] Ninja'd while getting the links to work right. [/edit] well, I wouldn't want to be in that guy's position. He's keeping a surprisingly good pokerface though I'll select another composition from the comic where the roles are reversed and I can add some chaperones. There, that's not like a creepy scene from X-Files at all.

Oh right! Thanks! ...I never got that scene. What's up with the mask? And the green guy? And... JONES?! Nobody's ever really entirely figured out all that stuff. It's terribly metaphorical and confusing, as it was Zimmy imposing her powers over Annie's dreams... somehow. The exact extent of reality in that chapter has never been determined.

...I never got that scene. What's up with the mask? And the green guy? And... JONES?! Zeta (aka Zimmy) is poking around in Antimony's head and I >>assume<< this is an allegorical representation of Antimony being seduced by the forest way of life but Jones drawing her back to the Court. Also possibly Antimony being attracted to Kamlen; at the very least she recognizes Kamlen as attractive since she says something to Kat about meeting a dude Kat might like. Previous page: Probably that's a representation of Kamlen trying to get Antimony to reveal why Coyote's got a bind on her.

We had all thought that her and Kamlen were literally dating, but after reading Annie in the Forest (without giving anything away), it's revealed as a daydream rather than a memory. So far.

Hmm I attempted to make a version of my avatar, Bobby with the mice on his head, but Paint isn't the best tool for it it seems... does anyone have any suggestions for a different program to use that doesn't cost £100's like photoshop? I used to have a pirate version of photoshop and made avatars and badges for another forum, but lost it on an old computer, and am no longer a teenager so less into the whole piracy/bundled virus thing anyway.

GIMP (the Gnu Image Manipulation Program) is almost as powerful as Photoshop and completely free.

GIMP (the Gnu Image Manipulation Program) is almost as powerful as Photoshop and completely free. Unfortunately, as is the case of many large open-source projects, the user experience is lacking. Still, it IS very powerful. Of course. Also, DEAR GOD keef! Your avatar is actually animated. I thought for a moment I'm going nuts from sleep shortage. Well played, sir, well played!

Personally I haven't really found the experience lacking.. it's actually kind of fun to use or even just mess around with. And when I tried using photoshop on the family computer a few months back, it seemed like I was always hunting for some kind of option or slider that was hidden in a dialog somewhere. But then again, basically my entire system is a large, free-as-in-both-ways open-source project (woo linux) so mileage may vary between people I guess Edit: the link to the gif frame thing expired, so image for the curious

I used to use Photoshop but stuff happened and I lost the ability to use it for free so I went back to Paint. Since I learned on Slow Turtle I'm demotivated to move on to something else. I downloaded GIMP a long time ago but haven't found time to learn to use it. Or read the manual. Or unzip it. Also this.

I use Paint.net for fast and simple editing. It's like a souped up version of MS Paint. Very handy.

It doesn't animate that much, it just flashes with random stuff every thirty seconds or so.

It doesn't animate that much, it just flashes with random stuff every thirty seconds or so. I knew it was animated but I didn't know about random stuff. Whenever I've looked at it the "face" just goes blank periodically. What should I be seeing? These edits are rapidly getting..interesting I think I'm in a one-man race to the bottom. But that's okay, because in the end you are your own greatest competition. And it helps me procrastinate GC magic cards. Here, have another.
