Someone commented in the shoutbox that a Dragonforce song would be appropriate for today's page. And it hit that they were absolutely right.

Fairport Convention's Reynardine, Kate Rusby's Annan Water, much of that dark and shadowy first Sandy Denny album ( The Raven And The North Star Grassman), maybe some Patrick Wolfe. Music with dusty shadowy corners, a little bit of mystery to it and an english accent... Thank you very much for the introduction to Kate Rusby. I really like her. And I can hardly believe I've never heard her before. You are evidently in high favor with the gods. This is lovely. Thanks very much. I also can't believe I've never listened to any more Led Zeppelin since my childhood. See what I've been missing? I think thats a nice theme for the Moddy Dhoo. Thanks! As for my offering . . . I'm not sure what the spanish means, so if this is a love song, or indeed a song about 'Utopias' then I really am sorry. Utopia by Belinda, and I felt its a good representation of Kat and Annie's friendship. Also 'Felt Mountain' from Goldfrapp's freshman album makes me think of Gunnerkrigg Court on a sunny weekend. (although, this must be rare if the stereotypes about England are true) And, although quite a few people dislike her, (including many icelanders) I feel this is also a representation of Gunnerkrigg in all its strangeness : Alarm Call by Björk. I know plenty of people don't like her, so I really don't mind if you don't listen or disagree.

Story, by Gackt. It's a lovely instrumental piece that gives off the feeling of, well, a story. In fact, I'm going to listen to it right now. And then some more Dragonforce.

"The Order of Things" by Scouts of St. Sebastian reminds me of Surma. And I imagine that the static in Zimmy's head sounds a bit like Starflyer 59's "Duel Overhead Cam". (Warning: there is a nasty feedback shriek in the bridge. Keep the volume dial handy, and don't listen to it on headphones the first time.)

Um... It just reminds me of her. Like how it must be when Gamma's gone/asleep. Yeah! =P

Minamikaze by Mikuni Shimokawa. It's in Japanese, so I understand none of it, but it's still wonderful, and I get a montage image of all the characters when I listen to it. In fact, all Mikuni Shimokawa songs are great.

It's not something I'd sit down and listen to for pleasure exactly, but the soundtrack Hanenone from the anime Haibane-Renmei (aka Gray-feather Society or Charcoal-feather Society) reminds me a lot of GC.
Hmm, it's a bit hard edged for GC but also Collide "Wings of Steel."

Referring to Reynardine, maybe Queens of the Stone Age's "Someone's In the Wolf" if only for the title. Though I'm sure some references could be found in the lyrics.
But I'm not sure if QOTSA sets the best Gunnerkriggish atmosphere. :/

I can imagine "Annan Waters" playing over the end of the chapter "Broken Glass and Other Things" when Kat appears to rescue Annie.
