will consider[/offtopic] Seriously though GC is amazing, but don't ever try to describe it to somebody who hasen't even the vaguest of ideas of what it is. I tried to tell my brother and it failed, miserably.

I just called it harry potter meets the X-files.

I've said "like Harry Potter, but without the clichés, and also cooler, with art." I still don't know if the person I told this started reading it, though. But then, she reads yaoi and is probably beyond all hope.

yes! I echo the eyes kudos. It takes a lot to get a girl with pointy teeth and red eyes to look adorable, but Tom has pulled it off successfully.

I've left compliments for Tom all over various threads, so I won't be redundant here. But I'm curious, given the 97 feedback comments (as of this writing) on strip #198, how does the reader reaction for this chapter compare with previous chapters?

I like the eyes Tom, definetley cool though with the teeth I think Vampyr, but still awesome.

I would like to offer one big humongous KUDO to the participants on this forum. Sofar flaming is kept to a minimum and most topics are fun and worthwhile reading. I declare the forum a formal success.

Tom, I just want to say I appreciate the attention to detail you put into GC. Everything from Annie having removed her makeup before bed, to the mysterious symbols around the Court and clues that span chapters. It really helps draw the reader in.

Kudos for Annie's expressions in 201. I think that's the widest range she's had so far!

Congratulations on winning (sort of) the Best Environment Design award at WCCA 2007! I think you should have won several others.
Next time!

It was a tie. With Inverloch (there are worse comics to tie with).

Oooh. Okay. Yeah, there are many worse ties!
In my opinion, GC is better, though. (of course)

I've been reading Inverloch for years, so I'm not just saying this -- GC should have won. Hands down. Even still, like La Poire and owl said, there are much worse comics to tie with.
Either way, a tie is way better than nothing at all so CRAZY CONGRATULATIONS LIKE WHOA.

And agreed, I -really- like GCs settings over Inverloch's, so I'm curious as to why other artists voted the way they did.

Could it be because of a difference in number of readers? Inverloch's been around a lot longer, right?
I suspect GC will win more and more awards as it develops. It certainly should.

Tom needs to sell out. Really. He seems awfully careful at not doing anything that might resemble just that, but what the hell –anything to get Gunnerkrigg Court the recognition it deserves.

Y'know, Tom, I have to put your storywriting on par with Neil Gaiman's. And as I worship Mr. Gaiman's shadow... that is pretty darn high praise. Keep it up, please!

Tom has Gaiman's Seal of Approval. Of course he's on par with him! (Then again, I could be biased.)

Many, many praise for Annie's disguise and smile. Ditto! I never would have guessed such a "disguise", or such a partner, but I like it. A lot.
