Implemented Minecart Mania plugin on popular demand. Works fine and will avoid us a lot of booster-related headaches.
We need a map of the Court to go anywhere with this project, and we're unlikely to obtain it from reading the comic alone.
I post here in the hope Mr. Siddell reads this and fulfills the request to draw an aerial sketch of the court, with the indication of what is what, because else the project has little future. We don't know anything of the court map and this is an insurmountably large obstacle.
EDIT: I think the chances Tom reads this is pretty low, so we need a brave volunteer to ask him on a PM or better with formspring or something like that. Any takers?
In alternative, we could plan a nice nifty map ourselves, with pen and paper (or tablet and mspaint) but the result wouldn't be so...authentic.

gkc-minecraft.wikidot.com/mods:list has the list of commands available to ops and regular people. I've added Minecart Mania's commands as well. Just so you all know, /help will automatically list what commands you have access to, whether you're an op or regular member. So, use it in-game if you don't feel like going on a webpage.

Due to a memory overflow the server had a crash. We tried to move the court downwards because it had hit the sky limit, but it went wrong. The server saved a large hole in place of the court and thus i had to restore today's backup, losing the subway and the various progress made today in the process. Everyone involved gives his/her apologies. We're working hard to restore what was lost. 頑張れ！
EDIT: i fixed most of the damage, except the stone details on the entrance face (antenna was sorta fixed, and i fixed the weird bug that disappeared fences). The railway was also lost, but it was pretty out of place anyways. Let's redo it when we have some idea of a right place for it.
DOUBLE CRISPY EDIT: The map is now backed up, and i'll do a backup every night. to bed, now!

For the two proposed texture packs, I don't see why we cant combine the two? I mean, Nikilink's texture pack doesn't seem to change mobs that much, and Merfnad's stuff are all changes to mobs, so it seems to me these could easily be combined.

(But I couldn't edit the player list on the wikidot site) For the two proposed texture packs, I don't see why we cant combine the two? I have now updated my texture pack with everything I liked from painterly. It is my personal taste though, so if you want something different just edit it yourself. Thanks Tom. I'm very glad you answered. I guess this means we need to draw one. Indeed, it leaves us with space to improvise. Now, i'll try to use a cartographer to have a rough idea of the space around the Court entrance and the Woods. Following this, it's two steps:
1) collect relevant pages from the comic that contain shots of landmarks, like the trains, train station, mini-maps that might be around and other nifty things like that-i remember a map by coyote that, while very...sketchy, might be useful, and a shot of the residential part of the court, if i'm not mistaken it was for Red's trip to the barber shop.
2) patching this data together and adding the rest of the Court with plenty doses of creativity. I remember quite a few fantasy continent maps based off the U.K. flipped upside down. We might use an automatic map generator or take the layout of a real world city and adapt it to our needs.
Let's get started on this. People, i count on you for phase 1).

News n. 1: I'm working with Cartographer, the resulting map will not be exactly fresh as i'm working with the old backup but it's just an appetizer. I wanted to try the program. News n. 2: I'm working with a map generator, i'm not fully convinced of the result and i will be happy of some feedback. The first step should be laying the outline of the court entrance building (shoud be pretty big, and long) and starting from there, a couple of streets. We can check this page along with the rest of the chapter to plan out the meeting hall, a place i guess should go immediately on the back of the entrance hall, in the center. Left and right side, back of the entrance hall, should be two wings of some use (classes and...scholastic stuff) that branch and meet with the back of the entrance hall. I'm already working on this but i appreciate help. I'll post plans shortly. Anyone knows if first-years-meeting at the beginning of the year (a la Harry Potter) is somewhat common in boarding schools? if so, we could plan something for that too, somewhere. |

Not right off the bat, sir, not something that would not downgrade the image quality. For such things, should i suggest you join the chat here? I wanted to use the channel for something worthy for a long time, i guess using it for the project is good, given IRC is much more agile than a forum, especially for brainstorming ideas and such. ...i feel like i'm doing half of everything here...talking and data gathering... everything but the texture packs...move, people, move... EDIT: I built a good part of the hallway, and the great throne room in which Ysengrin gives his worse during Fangs of Summertime. Wheee. If you want to fix something or add details, go ahead. Guys, thanks for doing the throne for me. I'm bad at furniture.  |

Are Golden. You deserve a knighthood. I'm not using the texture pack as it looks a tad medieval for gkc, It's meant to be set in modern times.... I propose we replace some block texture with maybe a modernised versions of something like Glimmars steampunk (minus the victoriana and green lights/water.) Although the mob and armour skins are radical and have been stitched into the textures is normally use. |

I came across a nice server plugin which might be cool (pretty but useless) I'm not sure if it works with bukkit but there is a plugin which allows ops/admin to make NPCs.
Once you put one down no1 but ops/admins can move them, and they don't react to the environment, but they do look like a player character, including the nameplate.
I forget the name of it, but the Yogscast use it and I thought it looked rather cool.

However, the skinning of the characters is difficult, since it relies on a username that's already registered in the Minecraft database. This seems to be the case with all NPC plugins.
