Welcome Iver, and thanks for the introduction! (And thanks for necroing this thread!) Thank you for the welcome! Oh, I'm always happy to bring old threads back from the grave, hehe. Oh, indeed it was, thank you! And thank you to wombat for having excellent taste in music and sharing it with us! See, now I just feel silly about that... Should have thought of it sooner. I'll make sure to make use of it in the future.

This thread really should be stickied
I know I missed it completely, who knows how many others have.

Oh hey! I'm Jess. Professional lurker, infrequent poster. Originally from Portland Oregon, moved to Toronto Canada a decade ago. Naturalized as a Canadian citizen last year! Been reading this comic since university (2005, almost since the beginning); was linked to it by a dear friend from Australia who said, "You might enjoy this." Talk about an understatement. I love it so much. It's such a source of joy for me.
My hobbies include watching endless episodes of MST3K and Space Ghost Coast to Coast, reading GKC and other webcomics, and posting pics of homemade foods on Instagram.
Fave Food: Chinese fried shrimp with hot mustard (seriously, I could eat like a bathtub full of them) Fave Movie: The Wicker Man (the one with Christopher Lee, not that a-BEES-mal Nic Cage abomination) Fave Book: Good Omens (anyone else SUPER excited about the show coming soon?) Fave MST3K Episode: Jack Frost ("I'm starting to think I don't LIKE evil Russo-Finnish grandmas!") Fave Comic Book: Skin and Earth Vol. 1 by Lights (the companion album is terrific as well)

Oh, sure, I'll check in.
I've been reading since 2006. I had an account years ago, same name but without the one. I've changed a lot since then but I still love the comic.
I'm a professional Engineer and an amateur artist and writer. I go by the same username on spacebattles, reddit, ffnet, althistory, and everywhere, so if you run into another strangebloke its almost certainly me. I'm a well-known entity on *some* fanfic sites, but you've almost certainly never read my stuff.
Favorite Fantasy series is LotR, followed by ASOIAF. Currently reading the Queen's Thief series, which is an underappreciated gem.

Looks like I didn't do an intro yet. But do you really want to know...?
I go by DonDueed. I'm a recently retired engineer (electronic hardware and software development). I don't miss work at all.
No exotic hobbies. I take care of the ol' homestead, catch up on reading I never had time for, and spend too much time on the interwebs. I've done some writing but nothing's been published. My musical tastes run to classic rock, folk rock, R&B, and other age-appropriate material. Over the last couple years I've been to performances by Tom Petty (sob), Paul Simon, Ry Cooder, and Tedeschi Trucks Band, among others.
Other webcomics I enjoy: Gaia, Dumbing of Age, Questionable Content, Go Get a Roomie, Stick In the Mud, xkcd, SMBC, etc etc.
I don't know why it took me so long to find GC, but I've only been following it for less than a year. I love it (needless to say) and the community here seems really cool.

Morning lads. I've lurked all over this board for months but never actually seen this post, but since I just signed up it seems the right time.
I go by Marine Monarch, although last time I was on proboards I was The Fish Queen. Real name Ella, she/they , current university student studying environmental science in the UK. Hobbies would be my plants, my pets and drawing, and I used to do pixel art. I've only been reading the comic since last summer, where I read the entire thing in 2 days then spent the next 16 hours in a gunnerkrigg-themed heat-and-stress induced fever state. And ever since I've loved it!
Fave character: Kat, obviously Other Webcomics I love: Cucumber Quest, Demon Street, Sanity Circus, Never Satisfied, Kill Six Billion Demons Fave Books: Good Omens, Catch-22, Mortal Engines series, His Dark Materials series, The Wind Singer series
Look forwards to seeing you guys around. Oh and while I'm here, is it appropriate to resurrect the most recent treatise page thread if I think I've found something no one else has?

I guess that everyone is okay with that. Treatises are special pages where the symbolism might not be found until later ages.

I think a good thread for that would be "Things I Noticed On Re-read", but I doubt anybody would object to resurrecting the page thread either.
