Thanks for the warm welcome! )) But I want of yours nitpicks! Moreover - I insist! It is kind of embarrassing that most people who apologize in advance for their English speak it better than a large portion of the native speakers do. Whereas usually when an English speaker is apologizing for not knowing much of another language, they really mean it. Definitely! ...I've had to tell several German acquaintances in the past that -- despite a couple years of it in high school and college -- they _really_ do not not want me to attempt their language outside of mere basics.

Sharing because so rarely do I actually have a professional photographer when I'm wearing one of my creations. (This was taken at our local comic shop's Free Comic Book Day events, hence the background): ....yes, I do make a better Watson than Holmes.

Yes! The world needs more people who like rocking mutton chops. Heh I'm surprised at how many random compliments I get on them when working conventions. ...plus they go with the bowler I usually have on instead of the deerstalker.

Hey all, I've been reading the comic for a while and occasionally checking the forum. I finally decided to make an account to comment, so here I am! I'm not sure if I have a fave Gunnerkrigg character?? I have a pretty big soft spot for Gamma and Zimmy. Also I'm the person who gets other people to read this comic; recently got my friend Trina hooked on it, and I read all of Homestuck (yes all of it) in exchange for my brother reading Gunnerkrigg.
Name: Alice gender: *wobbly hand motions* assigned-female-at-birth and uncomfortable with the pink female symbol by my username age: 22
I like video games (been playing a lot of Skyrim lately, got a Mass Effect tattoo, and an enduring love of Zelda), I've been spending far too much time on a virtual pet's site called Flight Rising, and dogs are the best.
...also I really need to find a better avatar but the goat simulator picture makes me happy every time I see it so I'll stick with it for now!

I've been reading the comic for a long time, but it wasn't until the Return of Anthony that I felt compelled to find my way to the forum. I'm a balding bearded slacker who lives in the Pacific Northwest. I draw my own daily fantasy webcomic, which you can find by following my signature link down there. A geoduck is a kind of large clam, and it's pronounced gooey-duck. I chose it because it's my alma mater's mascot. (Not a traditional school, no.)

I'm a balding bearded slacker who lives in the Pacific Northwest. Welcome! As long as you wear the facial hair with panache everything else is optional, I've discovered. A geoduck is a kind of large clam, and it's pronounced gooey-duck. Huh. When my friend wrote about getting into gooey-caching and asked if I wanted to participate perhaps I was oblivious to the real intent of that proposal.

And I dunno, its just such a goofy picture. It feels a bit conspicuous in the comic discussion threads, next to all the lovely Gunnerkrigg Court themed avatars. I'm using a laptop with Linux that's on it's last legs, so I can't play Goat Simulator through Steam. But I recently picked up the game for my xbox 360 and I've been really enjoying it! (also kudos to you for remembering the goat is a girl; most gamers forget!)

In that case I should refer you to the threads of avatars people have made for other people to use. Here is the most recent. There's also this thread from when we switched to Proboards and this ancient one. Being not-sticky they've slid off the front page. [edit]Oops, keef brought the more recent one back.[/edit] I've even made some myself but mine are joke ones. I think this was my masterpiece: I'm using a laptop with Linux that's on it's last legs, so I can't play Goat Simulator through Steam. But I recently picked up the game for my xbox 360 and I've been really enjoying it! It's lots of fun. I'm not sure how long I've been playing it but it's been years and I'm only about 65% done. Just not enough free time for video games...

Here you will find a thread with the cover artwork and a link to the time-lapse video of Tom drawing it.

Thanks Sorry for the delayed response, was working a convention all weekend and just got home (art show security at this one; but handed out a few cards for my costuming business, and managed to acquire some basic leatherworking tools at <50% retail via the charity auction! ) A geoduck is a kind of large clam, and it's pronounced gooey-duck. I chose it because it's my alma mater's mascot. (Not a traditional school, no.) ....and I know that, purely because that school regularly makes the "Schools with the most unusual mascots" lists

Well, I need to get the ball rolling somehow, so here goes:
This is Mr Thomas Siddell's corner of the net. So "Don't be jerks!" and mind your etiquette.
A place of gentle tales and mystery; Adventures fuelled by love and empathy;
A shining light for anyone to see.
That's what Tom's magic corner of the internet can be.
- The best place? - The bestest place! - Oh yes!
I look forward to chatting with you.

So I've been reading the comic for a little while now, but after spending enough time mindlessly browsing through these conversations I figured I might as well make some contributions on here myself. My avatar is Parley looking shocked because... well because it's parley, come on, she's awesome!

Aight, let's give this a shot.
Real Name: Not giving that out yet. :V
Nicknames: T-Man or T-Min usually (the former is a corruption of the latter) or even just simply "T." "Stuff" is what I go by on the other webcomic forum I visit, so I thought, hey, why not use the same one here.
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Favorite Games: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, NiGHTS into Dreams, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, Persona 4, Sonic CD, Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Favorite Court Character: Coyote
Favorite Movies: Spirited Away, Akira, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2, Pulp Fiction. Those are the ones that come immediately to mind.
A Little About Me: Weeeeeeelllll...I'm currently a college student studying as an English major. Planning on going into writing. I tend to fancy animal characters and such like that, so naturally the forest guys resonate with me the most (especially Coyote because he's the freaking coolest). Been reading GC for about two years now, and I love it, naturally. Other than that, uh, I'm just a guy I guess. d:

*softly pushes door* Um, hi everyone I am Ombre, a calm, smiling, literary, beardy, bookwormy, myth-loving, glass-wearing classicist man-sloth from Paris, France. I came upon Gunnerkrigg Court a couple weeks ago through a friend, and I was so captivated by the art and story that I read the whole archive in three or four days. Then I... well, I'm afraid I re-read most of it (and loved it even more : so many details to notice and understand !). Fortunately for me, that had no consequence on work for I was being cured from a rather incapacitating disease and had not really that many more interesting activities to do (I am fine now, by the way). I just love the comic and am amazed at the huge work Tom Siddell has put and still puts into it. Also, as I love myths and literature, I was delighted to discover a story where Coyote, Renard and Ysengrin play such important roles. So, as I also am fond of discussion boards, it didn't take much longer before I came and looked here... So, well, I'm glad to meet you all ! There are apparently questions, so let's give it a try... Real Name : won't tell ye for now, sorry ! Nicknames : my pseudo, "Ombre", is the French word for "shadow". I thought it an appropriate name, not only because of Shadow 2, but also because of the general mood of the comic, with all these mysteries about the history and true nature of the Court. Age : 29 and counting. Height : around 1,87 m. Weight : around 65 kg. Gender : mostly male. Favorite Games : Difficult choice. As for video games, I would go for Cryo's "Atlantis: The Lost Tales" (1997), at the time superb point and click adventure game with a good work on worldbuilding. Board games would include "Once Upon a Time", a little card game allowing you to create stories with friends. RPG game would probably be "Call fo Cthulhu". Favorite Court character : oh my, this is excruciatingly difficult to choose ! I'd say Annie, because her peculiar personality is what gripped me into the story and made me stay in the first place, but I am so fond of Kat and Reynardine and Coyote... Favorite sport(s) : um, let's say sports arent' exactly my forte, but I like badminton. Favorite movie(s) : difficult to choose once again, so I'll stick to the last movie I truly and deeply loved, which is Isao Takahata's Ghibli motion picture "The Tale of Princess Kaguya". I love animation in general, from any country or time, using any technique, especially when the worlds and stories are not formatted by marketing. Favorite book(s): "The Odyssey", Hesiod's "Theogony", Virgil's "Aeneid", Greek and Latin poetry in general, Rabelais' "Gargantua", Stevenson's "Treasure Island", any poem by Verlaine, anything by Gustave Flaubert, Jules Verne's "Journey to the Center of the Earth", Victor Hugo's "Notre-Dame de Paris", Virginia Woolf's "The Waves", "Nouvelles orientales" by Marguerite Yourcenar, "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Tolkien's "The Hobbit", Terry Pratchett's "Mort", Michael Ende's "Neverending Story", anything by Ray Bradbury, Italo Calvino's trilogy "Our Ancestors"... I stop before I go even more floodingly talkative. Favourite Music : classics like Offenbach (opérettes and "Hoffmanns' Tales") or Ravel. Vangelis. Progressive rock like Pink Floyd. Songs by French songwriters such as Claude Nougaro, Jacques Higelin, Juliette... also, Lila Downs and Chavela Vargas. Movie soundtracks by Joe Hisaishi, Michael Giacchino (also John Williams and Hans Zimmer when they're at their best)... "Doctor Who" TV series' soundtracks by Murray Gold.

*softly pushes door* Um, hi everyone I am Ombre, Welcome Ombre! Among a lot of interesting stuff two things caught my attention. I wholeheartedly agree with The Hobbit as the most enjoyable/readable Tolkien, Mort however.. I now have the feeling I have to reread it again. Small Gods is my favourite, closely followed by Thief of Time, and the earlier Granny Weatherwax books.

Small Gods is my favourite, closely followed by Thief of Time, and the earlier Granny Weatherwax books. Oh, I am very far from having read all of the Discworld books. Mort is the first I have read, quite some time ago now, and I love it for Death, of course (and for Mort). I have only read two or three others since, the last being Weyrd Sisters, which I must say made be hesitate because I really loved it too. Also, I must absolutely read Small Gods soon. Thanks for your welcoming answers ! Merci Peeping Bird !

Hey, since we have so many new readers, does anyone here speak spanish? If so, you should consider coming and helping with the spanish translation project! We need more translators/proofreaders! We could also use people willing to edit the words into the photos eventually, if anyone wants to help with that

Hello, everyone! I am currently an undergrad in college, and I am originally from California. After consistent, unrelenting encouragement from one of my friends to read this webcomic, I have fallen in love with it and am now rereading it. My favorite characters are probably Rey and Kat, but Parley, Smitty, Mort, and Ysengrin come pretty close. Coyote's in a category all on his own. Annie's definitely in the top 10. Or top 12. Somewhere in there. Books I've deeply enjoyed include but are not limited to A Tale of Two Cities, Startide Rising, To Kill a Mockingbird, and 1984. I am also a big fan of comic books and graphic novels! Regarding video games, I'm a fan of the Half-Life/Portal universe (also basically anything by Valve), Fallout, and Bioshock. It is a sincere pleasure to meet you all!

I have already been in the forum for a while, but I have just noticed this thread exist, so I'll introduce myself (with some delay). I see there are some questions. I will answer them, I guess:
Real Name: Carlos Nicknames: Arzeik, mostly
Age: 20
Height: Between 175cm and 180cm? Don't know, it's been a while since I last checked my height.
Weight: About 70 kg
Gender: Male
Favorite Games (board games, card games or videogames): Halo, WoW (though I was able to quit playing, I'm really proud of myself), Bioshock. I also enjoy Poker. I actually end up enjoying almost everything I play.
Favorite Court character: Anthony Carver. Ok, ok, just kidding, put your knives back into your pockets. I guess Renard and Jones. I also like Coyote a lot, although he's a big manipulative jerk.
Favorite sport(s): Basketball, cycling, paddle. Also soccer, but I rarely practise it.
Favorite movie(s): Big Fish, Ronin, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Pulp Fiction, The Prestige, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Favorite book(s): A Song of Ice and Fire saga (or what has been released of it by RR Martin), Dracula (Bram Stoker), Ficciones (Borges), 20000 Leagues Under the Sea (Verne), The Crawling Chaos, The Call of Cthulhu and a lot other short stories by Lovecraft, The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear (Patrick Rothfuss). At the moment I'm reading The Broken Eye, third book from The Lightbringer's trilogy (Brent Weeks), which I'm finding quite interesting.
Favorite music: The Killers, Muse, Keane, Coldplay, Linkin Park, Queens of the Stone Age, Vetusta Morla, Royal Blood...
Finally, tell us a little about yourself: I'm from Malaga (Spain) and I'm studying to become and engineer (if everything goes alright, I'll soon finish my degree). I aspire to rule the world (whoops) contribute to make the world a better place or, at least, not to make it worse. I started reading Gunnerkrigg Court about five months ago and, as you can deduce from me being here, I liked it a lot.
