I love this. The God of Maximum Drama went to all this trouble to knit together this whole tragic story but the main characters went and did their own thing, this is wonderful 😂😂😂 This dumb dog planned for years and DIED for this and now he is all put out because Romeo didn't fall for Juliette and even if they kill each other it won't be as much fun This is how I wish every greek tragedy went

Weird assumption. Those two stick together because they love each other. The way their powers work together is the reason they stayed together at first, but their relationship is a lot more than that now. Yeah but Zimmy doesn't seem like the type to not be insecure. She use to not like people talking to Gamma even casually Zimmy is insecure, but what's that got to do with anything? She's not predicting her own death because she's worried Gamma might leave. She's worried about some pretty specific etheric shenanigans connected to Omega (and probably to Loup) I don't think insecurity is how we end up with this page: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=2731 ? Plus Zimmy's powers are the source of 99% of her insecurities. I'd bet money she would go on an actual murder spree if it could het her powers erased.

It would be killing her because without the powers why would Gamma stick around and that is true death, the love of your life leaving Weird assumption. Now that everyone is (mostly) playing nice, I'm wondering how this whole "Annie kills Loup and Kat kills Zimmy" thing will now occur given no one is in any hurry to destroy the other any longer. I'm beginning to wonder if Jeroup will sacrifice himself to save Lana and Annie kills him almost as a mercy. Still hoping he'll make Jerrek a "real New Person" with the last of his strength before he gets split back into Coyote and Ysengrin so part of him will live on and be forever happy with Lana. As for Kat killing Zimmy, I'm wondering if she might simply use her soon-to-be godlike powers to de-power Zimmy instead, which would be "killing her" in a way given how closely intertwined her powers are with her base personality. Whatever would be left after no longer having the power to warp reality would pretty much be an entirely new person and no longer Zimmy at her core. I think that there is still a very high probability those tragic predictions will come true, just not in the way we expected. We don't know yet what Coyote's plan was. And Kat never had any intention of killing Zimmy, her newfound powers make her more dangerous than ever and there is still a strong chance she might do something irreparable by accident. We also have the small matter that the Court still needs an energy source for its interspacial dystopia to come true and only Loup and Zimmy qualify. And both have the capability of being incredibly destructive and don't have full control of their powers. So who knows what our protagonists might have to do to prevent even more horrible things from happening? That said Kat and Annie both have a history of finding a way out when there is none. Annie died and Kat said F*** that and broke time to create an alternate timeline where she was alive. So I'm also hopeful they will manage to avoid destroying lives.

Well, as step one of his atonement, it makes sense. The least he can do is to help recover those he buried in his fit of rage.
I think it shows how far he's come since he first fell in love with Lana. He's not just a psychopath obsessing over this one girl. He's started seeing the people around him as, well, people. The old Loup would never even think of doing that.

No. It made sense to wait and see what Loup's next move would be while preparing for the inevitable confrontation. We don't know what Loup wants or why he decided to reveal himself now, but he surely thought that if any part of that conversation didn't go how he wanted he could just threaten devastation again. I mean, she's not waiting for his next move, though. As far as I can tell, his next move is to make out with Lana. She has been waiting for him to move. His next move was to let her know Robot made a deal with him to make her distrust him, and then reveal who he is. That's probably not the kind of next move Annie and Kat were expecting, but can you blame them? They surely don't buy cute Jerrek in love, but it *was* an act for a while. Also I'm not sure I fully trust his intentions now. He told Lana he was going to tell Kat because she needs to know, but he might well be lying to her about his motivations to ensure the make out sessions don't stop.

Again, why is she doing this? Since she knew all along, surely she should've done this when she caught on or not at all, rather than waiting for him to admit it. No. It made sense to wait and see what Loup's next move would be while preparing for the inevitable confrontation. We don't know what Loup wants or why he decided to reveal himself now, but he surely thought that if any part of that conversation didn't go how he wanted he could just threaten devastation again. Good on Annie for ensuring she can be the one showing her teeth (or Coyote's) this time around. What I'm really curious about is how long Annie and Kat have known. I wonder if Kat was the one who found out with her computer.

Is Annie really going to just stick Jerrek with that thing? I also think this is kinda... I don't know. Contrived is not the word I'd use, since Loup has caused a LOT of issues (tried to kill Shell and oyher shadow men, ruined the forest, exiled the green elves, spliced Annie, ruined parts of the Court, threatened Annie, destroyed Renard's body) so Annie and co taking some sort of action against him is not unthinkable, yet... it feels... cold-blooded? I doubt she'll just stab him. Last time we saw her think about what Coyote said, she was still very conflicted about it. Likely she wants to talk to Loup from a position where she's in control. Loup has been playing with her from the start and has access to huge powers, even modifying time and space for funsies. Annie likely expects more tricks.

it seems late to be introducing entirely new characters to represent the Court's leadership, the people at the very top of the pyramid. I think whoever's sitting on the Court council isn't going to be important at this point. I think in the last act the villains will be bigger than that, puppetmasters who manipulate people and events, including the Court officials. We have Omega, whatever that means. We have evil-alternate-reality-Kat, who may or may not be Omega. We have this-reality-Kat who has good intentions but is causing a lot of ripple effects that may or may not end up being terrible. We have Robot who is managing his own cult/army and is at best morally grey when it comes to anyone who isn't Shadow, Kat or a robot. And we have Coyote. He's dead but whatever hand he played is still unfolding. Through Aata we know what the Court has been planning, they're on their way out and I think the only thing that will truly matter from now on is what they've unleashed in their attempt to "become gods".

I wonder if they'll tell the truth. Actually, I'm a little concerned: if Jerrek does do a 'Surprise!' switcheroo to demonstrate the news, will Loup's persona reassert itself? (as per Rey's theory of psyche being soma's playdoh) Based on this page, I don't think so: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=2686Loup's crush on Lana occured when he was at least partially in Loup form and she accepted him as Loup, not as Jerrek. We can't consider Jerrek a completely made-up personality at this point. Maybe it has to do with the star ocean messing up with Loup when he got too close to it, or maybe Jerrek was always a little bit Loup. After all, Loup himself is a pretty new person. He's barely a few months old, despite having access to experiences much older than that, which is pretty similar to what Lana and the others are going through.

Eeeeyup. Genuine super villain vibes right there! "Pursuing the greater good", "caring yet ready to sacrifice you for the sake of the grand scheme" type. I disagree with that actually. Kat who cried when she found out about the purpose of Paz's mice and freed Jane, "ready to sacrifice you for the sake of the grand scheme"? Kat, the one person who was most upset that the robots were used as a shield, and the one who bothered to rescue them after Loup retaliated? Nah. She'd be the last person to sacrifice people for "the greater good". Sometimes she fails to foresee the consequences of what she's doing, and there's definitely danger in that. But I can't see her going ahead with a plan if she actually knows it will hurt someone. She's a clueless kid but never a villain.

And she already has her army of minions ready to go as well. The Angel is a suitable ominous supervillain name. I do wonder what the Court will do when they discover Kat's increasingly powerful fiefdom she has carved out. Do they know and are monitoring her? Or has Robot's gang managed to hide her as successfully as they thing they have? That's a very good question. The Court wants to take Kat with them, so they at least believe that she is valuable, not ether-infected, and that they can control her. So I don't think they know the full extent of wat she's doing, unless they have some other goal beyond leaving for their promised land. As for why they don't know, I personally think it's thanks to Omega. If Omega and Kat are linked as many have speculated, Omega may be manipulating the Court in giving Kat free rein because it needs or wants Kat to do something. The Court thinks Omega is a device, a truth-telling machine that predicts the future, but from Zimmy we know it's not just a device and probably has its own goals.

In 7th she either tries to guilt Paz into staying a bit longer, or suggests this can make the situation worse. Not that either is likely to help. I don't think she's doing either, just going "oh no, poor Kat" after being hit with the news. It's likely to make Paz feel guilty, but I don't think Annie is trying to manipulate her at all, just processing her own feelings out loud. And she'S probably saying aloud what Paz is already thinking anyway. Breaking up is hard for that very reason. And Annie shouldn't even be in the position of knowing Kat is going to get dumped before Kat does. Indeed. So either Paz could not hold any longer, or… wanted someone to talk her out of it? I think it was just weighing on her because she just made that big, painful decision. And maybe she's thinking Annie will be Kat's emotional support when she leaves and if she understands what is going on, it will make it easier for her to take care of Kat. I doubted she wants someone to talk her out of it. It sounded very final. Like something she's been thinking about for a long time and finally settled on.

I mean, I don't know how you all reacted the last time someone dumped your BFF. But if my BFF's soon-to-be-ex, who I'm not remotely close to, decided to cry on *my* shoulder about dumping my friend, well... I would pat her on the back probably but I would be innerly screaming a prayer to any listening gods to get me out of there ASAP. I get that Paz is feeling a lot and unloading on the next available person but it's hardly fair to Annie. Paz has her own friends. Annie is Kat's friend. And Annie shouldn't even be in the position of knowing Kat is going to get dumped before Kat does.

(...and Annie continues her tradition of not reading the room!) A bit harsh to call it a tradition. Annie has poor social skills and doesn't seem to easily infer how her comments will make other people feel, but she's not like this because she doesn't care. Right now she's offering an ear to someone who hasn't always been fair to her in the past. And she's just given words of sympathy to someone who's about to break her friend's heart. She's not even Paz's friend.

Well that explains why Paz was crying. That was her moment reaching the "I can't do this anymore" point. Even when you love someone, you can't always follow them in the places they want to go.

Having zero interest in relationship drama I'ma slide on in here and ask whether we expect the Court to be chill with someone who knows all about their magic space puddle and robot ascension and etcetera just heading out to vibe in Spain? Paz has been vibing in Spain every summer since year 1. As for the magic space bubble and the people who leave with it, they claim they will all be magically forgotten the moment they leave: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=2665So unlikely anyone would know to follow.

They know Paz likes to talk to her mice. But do they know the mice talk back? Or are they just impressed at how healthy and stable and obedient the mice are? (this is today's wildspec, is all.) Somebody else already pointed out Paz didn't get an invite to the Court's "gowing away" briefing. Kat is aware of that since she's the one who told Annie. Kat 100% knows that if she leaves on the star ocean she won't see Paz (or her parents, or Annie) ever again.

Well, she can't be leaving to sail on the magical space ocean. They wouldn't allow her, she has etheric abilities. So she must be planning to go home.
I get it honestly. She came here to attend a school, but right now there is no school, soon most of the administration that gave paying jobs will be AWOL, and there's an angry psychophatic god roaming the place. Annie and Kat were born to Court families, but Paz had to move away. What reason does she still have to be this far from her family? What future is there for her here?

Is it just me or is Antimony a little more uncomfortable with the mere appearance of a keyboard than she should be, given the Court's education? Maybe she cheated in those classes too. Or maybe computer operation is mostly the province of the robots, hence not part of general education. But...nah, I think Annie's just been slacking. Lots of people who work with computers every day get really freaked out when you ask them to type a command in the console. She might be familiar with a couple of school-related software, but not at all with whatever Kat's computer is running.

Oh, and the idea of Kat killing Zimmy is not a rock solid fact, right? Zimmy can see the negative potential inside of Kat and it terrifies her, so it's understandable that Zimmy is being prejudiced about her. That may be where such prediction came from. "The Court has made a way to look into the unseen world" that resembles Zimmy of a machine, but it's not actually a machine. Reminds me of Kat actually. But i still don't get why Zimmy thinks Kat will kill her. Zimmy sees a lot of things that are terrifying and not true. That's probably why Annie doesn't believe her prediction (plus the fact that she trusts Kat to know what she's doing, maybe a tad too much as we've just seen). But she also sees some very real things that are just hidden below the surface. So, who knows?

I'm shocked they didn't have this "did you see the same things I saw?" conversation earlier, say, right after the Robot Boat Zimmy Thing. I don't know how long it's been since the cruise, in-universe, but they've had plenty of time to talk (at least, before they were all too busy with Loup / timeline splitting / New People / Star Ocean shenanigans). They don't know that the other saw something too, and they're not exactly friends. Their interactions seem to mostly consist of Annie awkwardly leaving the room when Kat is with Paz and Paz accusing Annie of making Kat sad.

Annie acting like she had no part in this is both fully in character and also the reason she's the worst. No part in what? Do you mean Kat's work in general, or her deciding she wanted a direct interface between her computer and her brain? If anything, we know that Annie's influence has put Kat on a kinder, less destructive path. It's not like Kat would decide to take baking as a hobby if she didn't have her around.

At this point, assuming what Kat told Annie and Paz is correct, the hardware running Kat's mind is still her brain in her body. It's mostly the accessories that have been temporarily replaced by devices. So if you kill her body, there won't be anything left to talk through the speakers. but seeing as she got this step out of the way, there's nothing really stopping herself from backing up her mind in a save state I dunno, she managed to transfer the robot's mind into flesh but it's heavily implied the flesh hardware supports a lot more features than the machine hardware ("she offered us an ocean"). Unless she came up with sufficient machine hardware to store the entirety of her human mind, transfer in the other direction would be incomplete and come with the price of a huge loss of information (or more romantically a huge part of her soul would be lost). She could store herself in synthetic flesh like she did for the robots but it's unclear what the advantages would be. What she wanted here was the best of both worlds, full machine access without losing her complex biological hardware, and I don't see that changing unless there is a catastrophic accident or another technological breakthrough.

I feel like she has however put zero thought into what Paz will think of being the girlfriend of a disembodied voice, after being kept out of the loop of what Kat is planning. That or her thought was "this will be so cool! I'm sure Paz will also think it is cool!" I don't think she realized this would happen. Her plan was to stay in her body and access the computer from there. Maybe it isn't that bad and she'll learn to manage both her old flesh body and her new computer one. Side note, this is pretty much the reverse operation of what she's done with the robots' transfer of consciousness.
