That's my fear as well, that she's gonna take the blow for Jerrek and die, causing him to completely lose it as he finally learns the pain of losing someone he loves. Or Annie may just do this all so fast that there's no time for either to do anything. She is very pissed off and not screwing around right now. Jerrek will cease to be as Loup gets sliced back into Coyote and Ysengrin, which will devastate both of the young lovers. |

This is my first thought as well, but given the progression so far, and that Loup must want to die (according to Coyote), I feel there must be something really significant happening here. Definitely not Loup dying, since then he wouldn't have the chance to want death. So it must be Lana. (Or some other shenanigans, but Loup must still exist) |

To be honest I've always suspected the comedy option is actually how it'll go down, as a surprise twist. The giggleblade operates both as a literal sharp sword AND a metaphorical cleaver. It would lead to an interested divergence in character development (which we've already begun to see): a Prince Zuko-esque guilt/redemption arc and a "god brought down to mortal" arc for Jerrek. But for Loup? An arc in which he wants to reabsorb his missing piece? Or a twist in which Loup absolutely mourns the experiences he had and has now lost with Jerrek being split off, and it's Jerrek that begins to break down under the psychological weight on being able to die. Interesting to see what happens. |

(On a different tanget, I never understood why in-story people were surprised Andrew was picked instead of Annie as the Court Medium. I would have picked Andrew too.)

I think the sheath holds the back edge of the blade firmly to one side, while its sides act as baffles preventing the edge from coming into contact with anything. |

Contrived is not the word I'd use, since Loup has caused a LOT of issues (tried to kill Shell and oyher shadow men, ruined the forest, exiled the green elves, spliced Annie, ruined parts of the Court, threatened Annie, destroyed Renard's body) so Annie and co taking some sort of action against him is not unthinkable, yet... it feels... cold-blooded? Annie seems a lot less upset than that time she burned Ysegrin in rage over the blinker stone. They were just talking to Jerrek civilly moments ago. His girlfriend is right there. Yet I see no hesitation. Would she really do this if Coyote had not predicted it? If Zimmy hadn't predicted it? Wouldn't they want specifically to avoid killing Loup, in the hopes of proving Zimmy wrong (and thus hoping Kat wouldn't kill Zimmy also). Is Annie SURE she can do it? Is she trained in using a sword? And what about the Court? Is it monitoring them? Are they going to sweep in and intervene? What if killing a god has any sort of repercussion in the ether, or in Annie? Will SHE absorb any of Coyote's powers? GUYS I FEEL LIKE YOU HAVEN'T THOUGHT THIS THROUGH (unless it's a ruse of some sort. In any case I eagerly wait to see how this plays out!) |

It seemed that she the first time she seriously considered it was when Loup destroyed Renard's body, and her mind was sorta made when Zimmy also predicted it would happen (unless, as some commentors suggested, she intends to scare him rather than kill him). Also bear in mind the possibility that the trap became possible only after Kat chipped herself. |

No. It made sense to wait and see what Loup's next move would be while preparing for the inevitable confrontation. We don't know what Loup wants or why he decided to reveal himself now, but he surely thought that if any part of that conversation didn't go how he wanted he could just threaten devastation again. Good on Annie for ensuring she can be the one showing her teeth (or Coyote's) this time around. What I'm really curious about is how long Annie and Kat have known. I wonder if Kat was the one who found out with her computer. |

This is kinda a repost from before this update but I think in this comic and the previous one Antimony and Kat have been executing a pre-planned strategy on how to deal with Jerrek once he reveals he's actually "Loup." At whatever point Kat and Antimony figured out Jerrek was "Loup" he'd already been running around loose for a while and nothing bad really happened. He may have even been helpful. It appears they figured that as long as he was maintaining the disguise he was pretty much self-restrained from doing anything bad so they decided to watch how this played out. Robot (and maybe Kat) might possibly have been helping maintain the Jerrek disguise behind the scenes; in fact, Robot may have told Jerrek he'd do that because the decision to do so as long as he didn't reveal himself was already made before Robot confirmed Jerrek was "Loup" which puts an entirely different spin on what Robot was doing in making that bargain. That doesn't mean they were doing nothing but waiting, though. Looks like Kat's improved her trapping and Renard was hidden nearby, ready to provide support. However, I think they equated "Loup" revealing himself with "Loup" launching an attack or otherwise doing something destructive therefore requiring instant containment (and maybe shanking) to prevent imminent tragedy. They probably thought this was a ruse to get the two girls away from the other Noomans and whatever else they would normally have for support, and they may already know who the "traitor" is because they asked him to make that bargain, so they may feel there's nothing to gain by listening... except maybe not looking like @ssholes to Lana and painting Jerrop as incredibly misunderstood. It's true they minimize risk to themselves/others this way so I understand the reasoning, though. |

I like your theory a lot!! However, it made me think again, and I now interpret Annie's lack of hesitation/stress as this whole thing being a pre-planned bluff, not a pre-planned murder attempt. I fail to see how a bluff would be helpful, though... Arghh, I can't wait for the next update! |

Not unprepared. I doubt they have thought things all the way through, however. Why? Sure, that one time Lana acted fast enough to surprise Annie. But then, Annie was resting and chatting, did not expect much of anything to happen. Now Annie is on her feet, on full alert, and considering not only she was using her body for a lot more than a month or two, but had a lot of exercise specifically running and jumping around… I don’t think anything theatrically precise is even on the table. Jumping between them as an obstacle, perhaps, but even for grabbing she would need some luck. |
