Ahh, it's so nice to see the treatise without having to squint! Annie isn't wearing her antimony necklace. Or maybe that's the one above the coyote tooth? And it looks like we'll be seeing ol' white legs again!

The arrow that Steadman fired into the gorge is also pointed down at the heart.

That's such an awesome piece of art! I like how the connection between Annie and Kat means that something of the forest comes to the court (the birds) and something of the court comes to the forest (the spider). So much great symbolism to think about here, it will take a while to digest it all.

Rey seems to have two symbols on his head now (antimony and bismuth)...is that new? (Looking at the avatar two posts up, it seems that it is! Something to do with Rey being more connected to the Court now?)

"You come here to mock me with this gleaming heart of yours"
Jeanne's heart was run through by the arrow device, but not literally. In a way, she brought death upon herself, by loving the forest man, and giving into grief when he was murdered - so, figuratively, she ran her own sword through her heart. Hmm... --
Kat is holding two pigeons -pigeons = nature, but Kat = technology. In the previous treatise a tiny plant could be seen sprouting up in the court.
"This was to be a place of great power, a place of union... but all we found was a terrible squabble!"
Perhaps the court and the forest are destined to join together again. If Jeanne can be set free, then the Annan waters will be crossable without the use of the court's bridge. Is that what's going to happen at the end of the comic?

I see the green arrow Steadman killed Jeanne's lover with, A bunch of robots staring at Kat, Annie's fiery hair billowing towards the forest - and curling around Kat's arm of course. Annie is holding one of Zimmy's white spiders, while Kat is holding a couple of lovebirds (more romancing for Kat? Or maybe something to do with Paz?). Also, is robot staring longingly at the forest, or just staring out in general? And why does Coyote look like he's hiding? Post sumus: Mister Siddel, your comic keeps astounding me time and time again, both because of the absolutely gorgeus artwork (especially these last few chapters have been amazing) and because of the sheer number of questions it constantly arises, that i simply must have the answers to. Damn you Tom for keeping me awake all nigt

It appears whenever Rey is in his wolf form. Jeanne's heart was run through by the arrow device, but not literally. In a way, she brought death upon herself, by loving the forest man, and giving into grief when he was murdered - so, figuratively, she ran her own sword through her heart. Hmm... I took it as being Parley's heart, and a omen that Parley may still be in danger. Also, a comparison to the older treatises, if anyone wants it: Look at the shift in colors over the various treatises. It starts in warm colors, then shifts to grey, then gets gradually more colorful (and detailed).

So that's what it is! Not sure why I jumped to "bismuth"... It pops up again a bit later, linking back to this. Hm...

No, no, the white one ahead of the antimony symbol. Annie's symbol has always appeared on his head before but that one didn't show up until after he got zapped.

A lot of interesting analysis already in this thread. A few things I'd noticed, some things I hadn't.
One other note: Annie's hair is fire pointing towards the forest. Either the forest brings out the fire-elemental part of her, or the fire-elemental part of her is especially drawn to the forest.

max: Yeah, I'm seeing it as both their hearts - well, Jeanne's heart as it was and Parley's as it is.

No, no, the white one ahead of the antimony symbol. Annie's symbol has always appeared on his head before but that one didn't show up until after he got zapped. Right the top one is new, but the other one has always been there. I don't think it has to do with him being zapped, since it is at the end of Spring Heeled. ETA: I just noticed that it shows up in the light surrounding Rey when he gets zapped. Is that what you were talking about?

Ysengrin's legs are the branches of the forest. Ysengrin has some symbols over his head. Ysengrin's right ear is missing, as it is in the comic. The forest is in daylight while the court is in shadow.

Coyote is going to need a fire extinguisher for Annie's hair. Ysengrin's ethereal ear might be my favorite part of this treatise.
Other things: Despite her green garment Annie's hair makes her match both the Court and Woods palette. Both sides (and Jeanne) share green, a sign perhaps of connectivity/similarity despite very obvious differences. Everyone in the background seems to be staring at the heart. Jeanne is left handed.

Oh, that one for sure that's always been around. Hm, I wonder why it would show up on his head later if being zapped wasn't the reason. Ohh, there's so much to find out!

Also just noticed Annie's matchstick hair in Treatise 3 Along with Coyote's eye on her I'd say the latter is an allusion to Jones as his "Wandering Eye" but I probably only came to that conclusion because that's what I want it to mean.

At first I wondered why Robot and the robot-faces in the lower left corner do not appear to have counterparts in the Forest side. After mulling it over I am guessing the trees fill that role.

Lets make a list: Moon over the court, Sun over the forest both have a vertical line through the center Night over the court, day over the forest. Bismuth symbol in between antimony and sol/gold, linked by a ring The set of symbols have wings Rey, who caries both the antimony symbol and his own. Yesengrin, who's missing ear has etheric lines, and is growing from the treas. Robot in hoodie Jeane clutching sword green arrow pointing down Kat and Annie with their respective signs next to them Annie looking toward the forest Kat looking toward the court The court is crumbling stone on top of mainframes the forest is trees Robots staring at Kat Annie has the coyote tooth Kat has her apron and tools Annie has a summer dress Kat holds pigeons Annie holds Zimmy's spider. Coyote is a rather minor actor symmetrical to the robots Annie is tied by vines to the forest, particularly at her wrist and arm Kat's arm is tangled in Annie's hair symmetrical to the vines is a gear on the court side Gleaming heart in the middle, with Jeanie's sword stabbing it. heart is on a round background with rays. There are red rays coming from behind the circle Annie's hair turns to fire on the forest side
Did I miss anything?

Amazing! Gorgeous!
Also: Robot(S13) staring at Kat.
P.S.: interesting, two symbols on Rey's head means his attachment to Annie?

Maybe this is symbolic of his promise not to interfere with the court. Ysengrin, who is drawn rather larger, made no such promise, and was not pleased that Coyote had let Renard be tricked and captured.

Hmm... There's also the shadow of the Court on Renard that's a parallel to Ysengrin turning into trees. I might contrast the gear against the vine/darkness for the list's sake (growth/death process vs. mechanical energy redirected to benefit man) though I can understand if people would argue against that. Also I mentally put Coyote against the mainframe whatzit. Not sure if that helps or no.

That symbol at the top in the sky looks a lot like the sky symbol used to arrange meetings between forest and court.
edit: coyote tooth already mentioned. sorry.
