Coyote is displeased, yes yes!
Mighty Eyebrows like that only appear once per eon.
It's a shame to waste them so frivolously.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if it turned out Coyote colluded with the Court to execute this plan. Interfering in the relationship between two lovers separated by the Great Divide, just for my own amusement? Doesn't sound like something I would do, no no! I've always believed that Coyote knew, in some form, about the arrow because etherically sealing the ravine was an undertaking of several orders of magnitude and that's the exact thing to draw Coyote's attention. Not many things are interesting enough to draw my attent –– OOH! A butterfly!!
*exit stage left, pursuing butterfly*All Tom is saying is that Coyote doesn't know about Jeanne. I know quite a bit more than My creator thinks I do, hehe. After all, I have a thousand eyes and one - the better to watch this forum with! Was Jeanne some kind of respected figure in the forest that Coyote wouldn't want harmed? Ah, now that, that is an interesting question, yes yes! What would give me in exchange for the answer?

What is Coyote's endgame if there is one? Oh, don't you worry your little human minds. You will definitely know it when you see it, hehehe

1, Kat is awesomely powerful. Yes. ...though not as much as I. I'm still the top dog, so to speak, hehe. 2, every deity level being can see the ether the way Kat does No. It depends on the perspective and outlook of the diety in question. Although we have a similar kind of deep understanding, I see the Ether similarly to how My Fire-Head Girl does (it's part of the reason we get along so famously!). It's a realm of whimsy where metaphor controls reality: perfect for Me, yes yes! The Angel lives in a coldly mechanical, clockwork world - of course she sees the Ether in a no-nonsense, straightforward sense. I think she's missing out, to be honest. Her Ether doesn't sound very interesting at all, no no!

Could Wandering Eye destroy you? Hahaha! You crack me up. What's she gonna do? Sit in one place until I go away? Try and outlive me? Maybe she could get me to die of boredom. She has the least developed sense of humor in all the Court, yuck. Or could your teeth destroy her? Now, now! I can't tell you everything right away. It's my official job to make sure this story stays interesting, after all! You'll have to wait and see, yes yes! I can see your tears of frustration through your screen. They are delicious.I will say that I sometimes have my...own reasons for my gifts, hehe. I'm only 93% as scatterbrained as I look. The other 7% is evil genius.

Ysengrin and Coyote == Romeo and Juliet? “Oh, I shall teach you how you may forget to think. I shall steal away your memories most dark, and give to you the deep sweet sleep of dreams. And when you should die, I will take you, my dearest wolf and cut you in little stars, and place your face in the sky, and you will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night..."

I'm not sure what Coyote's looking at To be honest, I am mostly sulking about how these two consistently upstage Me from My rightful front-and-center place in all of the treatises.
Everyone knows I'm the protagonist, after all, yes yes!

I do think that Coyote bears some responsibility for the trouble between the Court and the Wood by making that chasm between them. It stopped them from going to outright war with each other, but it also probably encouraged them to continue distrusting each other and seeing each other as a threat. In fact, that's probably why he did it; he doesn't want a war that could wipe out both sides and leave him with no toys to play with, but he doesn't want a state of peace and harmony between them; to him, that would be boring. The only thing I'm "responsible" for is causing more fun for everybody! Why, you have one little war and it's over and done! Who would want that? So boring, yes yes. Plus, you wouldn't have a comic to read if I hadn't interfered. I will expect your grateful gifts in the morning! Coyote loves humans. He doesn't want to attack the Court or take it over. He just wants to have fun with the interesting humans he loves so much. If they do human things and get themselves killed, or do human things and don't keep themselves from getting killed, then it isn't Coyote's fault! Nothing is my fault, of course. Because "fault" would imply that I'm not perfect. And I'm perfect, yes yes! *grins toothily* Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

This calls for divine intervention. Go Coyote! Even I cannot restore life, young one. It is the one force in this world that is beyond My mighty power. It took my son from Me, long ago, aeons ago, so long ago I nearly forget, yes yes. A fine strong pup he was, My greatest source of pride, the joy in My heart. But he was half-mortal - alas, that I would fall for a human! - and in a blink of My eye, Death claimed him. Without him, My tongue was ash in My mouth. My laughter ceased, My heart like lead. And what am I without a laugh? Nothing more than dry bones and the hollow whistle of the wind. I was dying. I was dead without him. I was consumed by a hope, a figment of a fragment of a dream, that he might escape Death's icy claws (so much sharper than My own, yes yes, I admit it) and be waiting for Me somewhere over the horizon. I wandered the earth, searching in vain for the sound of his voice, the touch of his fur, the gleam of his eyes. And soon I, who could hold the very moon in My jaws, was too weak to even stand. So I wept and prayed to the Great Spirit above, who holds dominion over the veil between the worlds - what the fools at the Court call the ether. And answering my prayer, he descended in the form of a great raven. Perhaps he was just a mirage. Or a delusion. (Or a bird.) I was very hungry, after all, yes yes. Not many wisps in the endless desert. He perched in silence, staring at Me. I shouted and cursed his cruelty. I screamed defiance at the heavens, and I demanded My boy back. And spent, I collapsed and waited for My own death. Perhaps if I could not find My son in this world, I would be together again with him in the next. Wearing a sad and distant smile, the Great Spirit reached out and touched My snout with a single feather. And suddenly, in a blaze of light, I saw. When My son had been torn from me, the Guides took him into the ether, so the world could continue to spin. My son was not gone. He would never be gone. I am a creature of the ether. I had been searching for him when in fact he had always been inside of Me, and I only lived on because of his dreams and memories, and those of the millions who had gone before him into the ether. Nothing is truly lost in the end. He showed Me the Great Secret - when My son left this world, he was weaved into the fabric of creation, and he would remain so until the end of creation itself. I weep not for the dead, but for those who outlive them, abandoned and alone in the night.

There is not-so-wild speculation that Coyote knows more about Jeanne than he told Annie and is manipulating Annie so she eliminates Jeanne. But Annie met Jeanne before she met Coyote and I think Annie would want to free Jeanne on her own. Coyote knows nothing about Jeanne. He only knows the cut on Annie's face was made by a very powerful creature. That's why he gave Annie his tooth. (of course he may have had other reasons) "Coyote knows nothing about Jeanne"? Well, that's what Tom thinks. Hehe. It's not like I hang around here or anything...
