Something tells me Section B must be quite short. To the effect of: "This is Boxbot. He is terrible. So very, very terrible. That is all"

I hope there's nothing like this on ghosts. Something tells me Section B must be quite short. To the effect of: "This is Boxbot. He is terrible. So very, very terrible. That is all" But I wonder, What information could be so vital that it would replace it as Section A? Edit: Gunnerkrigg Court Student's Handbook, Chapter 113: Robot Handling, Section A: Why Robox is awesome.

If you happen upon a Boxbot, maneuver around it or over it in a manner that suggests that you completely disregard its existence and move away quickly. Do not interact with the Boxbot in any way, otherwise it will attempt to impose itself on you and offer unwanted 'assistance', which may lead to aggravation, stress, the early onset of heart disease, utter failure and acne. If you find yourself in this situation , please contact the proper authorities, who will remove the Boxbot for proper disposal in a locked hall closet.

"This is Boxbot. He is terrible. So very, very terrible. That is all" Why does that sound like part of a song? "A Terrible Ode to Boxbot, who is Terrible..." ...Yeah, I don't know where that came from either. This bonus page, though, is the opposite of terrible.

Soooo...before we see the next chapter illustration, any speculation on which side-characters Antimony and/or Kat will be interacting with next?
Zimmy? Elgamore? Jones? Anthony?

Ha! If it's in the student handbook methinks this happens too often. I very much doubt Kat would have the heart to humiliate anyone like that though. <3 thor, Hm, well we haven't seen Zimmy in a while. Either way I'm hoping for something inside the school.

Something tells me Section B must be quite short. To the effect of: "This is Boxbot. He is terrible. So very, very terrible. That is all" From Robot Handling; Section B: What's The Deal With Boxbot? "In order to deal with fictional accounts of robots as existing with sentience-like intelligence, and popular culture's outlook on robots in general as being awesome, it was decided an example of robots being no more then an appliance was neccesary in order to deal with proper familiarization with robots, and to dispel ideas up to and including robot rights, ethical issues of robot dissassembly, and treating robots as sentient. Thus a model was created to be an examble that however ingenius or useful a robot might be, it is nonetheless a tool, with any display of feelings being nothing more than mimicry of humans. Because it does not serve an actual function outside of acting as a psychological achor to reality when faced with the reality fo advanced robotics work at the Court, Boxbot attempts more mimicry and attempted social interaction then most models of robot. Boxbot lacks even the generalized programs of other Court robots, and thus should not be expected to complete even basic tasks. Students are not discouraged from attempting to make use of any Boxbot, in order to showcase that robots are nothing more then tools following instructions. Boxbot has been preprogrammed to stop attempting social interactions with students to a list of key phrases and terms. If having trouble with a Boxbot, refer to the list below. If Boxbot continues to attempt social interactions, report the error to a nearby Court robot (not a Boxbot) or faculty member for repairs. 'You('re) _______ Boxbot!'/'Boxbot, you('re) ____!' Beastly Bogus (a) Chump Crummy Detestable Faulty Horrible Lame Loathsome Lousy Terrible Uncool Weak Whack Worthless"

Zimmy? Elgamore? Jones? Anthony? We already know that Anthony won't be heard from for about a year and a half. And there's no such character in the comic as "Elgamore". Between the kind of advice being delivered in the students' handbook (if this page is at all representative of its moral level) and the revelation in the main body of the chapter of the Court founders' dark secret, I almost wonder whether Tom's trying to cure us of a "misguided fandom"-style admiration of Gunnerkrigg and yearning to go there.

Panel 3 is hilarious. It also makes me wonder about the person who wrote the advice. Probably someone who saw Mean Girls a bit too often.
Edit: Just remembered the gifts in Panel 1 are exactly the same as the ones Jones got from Randy. Time to speculate Dr Disaster is a robot! ;D

Hilarious bonus chapter. xD ...Poor robots.
Question. My robot is coming to me not with poorly constructed poetry and a bouquet, but a door-stopping brick of a novel about "true love" and a rafflesia flower.
What do I do?

Question:If robots have their own religion, doesn't it follow that they have their own, independently developing culture and intelligence (which Diego endowed them with), and so must be treated with respect and allowed to develop? This whole "meaning of humanity" thing is very Star Trek-y.
Of course, that whole respect thing doesn't apply to Boxbot, because he's the village idiot.

If a number has ever had potential to mock me, this would be it. And I see potential application to this beyond robots, some of the younger students, perhaps.

I wonder how many students of the court would love a relationship with a robot? I mean robots are sexy, far sexier then birds...
Also if this happened to Antimony I doubt she could get further then step one, though she did demonstrate quite the proficiency with step one on Mort.

Only if you pronounce the 0s as "O" or "null" or "zip" instead of "zero" Also if this happened to Antimony I doubt she could get further then step one, though she did demonstrate quite the proficiency with step one on Mort. For a moment I thought your "step 1" meant "1st base", and spent a confused couple of moments wondering when Mort and Annie made out.

I think it's fairly obvious that Tom just scanned the actual handbook and put his watermark at the bottom.

Was that.... a binary haiku? I think so... Only if you pronounce the 0s as "O" or "null" or "zip" instead of "zero" Keep in mind that as transmitted 0 and 1 have the same speed, but are represented by two different voltages. It's like playing a song composed of staccato notes on a piano with two keys.
