It seems like normally Annie doesn't ask questions of adults, but because Bob didn't reveal her moment of weakness, he's a person who can be trusted enough to ask questions of?
I hope that he really is a trustworthy person...

I hope that he really is a trustworthy person... Well, as we can see in the chapter where Annie & Kat first met Bob, Bob shown his kindness by not pushing with his question, but being firm while still kind, backing off when he saw Annie started to cry. That, and how Bob neatly brushed off Eglamore's question on what A & K did, in my opinion indeed make him trustworthy in Annie's eyes. Oh, and by the way, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!! Yay! Man you guys are so welcoming nowadays. I'm really liking Bob. It's pretty clear to me that he's being presented as a trustworthy character, or at least a kind, sensitive one. I bet he has kids. I /do/ like the idea of him being Smitty's dad, although neither Bob nor Marcia has Smitty's token eyebrows, and as careful with details as Tom's been lately, I doubt Tom would leave them out  But both times we've seen him, he's been super nice to Annie. First, by realizing Annie needs some space and not forcing them out of the decon room immediately, and now by not mentioning that annie was crying in the decon room to Eglamore.

Thank god, or I'd be in violation of the requirement. :-)

Since I'm a 35-year-old male, my posting there would be completely redundant.

I didn't ever post in it because I predate it!

Peas the first time I saw your avatar picture I didn't realize that was a shadow behind you, I thought it was a squirrel tail.
...I've been waiting to say that for I don't know how long...

You're not the first to say that. I keep intending to lighten it so it's more obvious, but then I get hit by a crippling wave of apathy.

Why not just keep the shadow as it is and add a squirrel tail?

But then he'd have to add a shadow for the tail too.

I really enjoy any comic that has art from older strips in the story. It really shows how much change there has been.

Posting in the introduction thread is not a requirement. I know, Tom. Just wanting to greet new members and inform about the fun Intro thread. If you don't want me to continue doing that (pointing people to the Intro thread), them I'll cease and desist immediately.

But then he'd have to add a shadow for the tail too. Exactly. And then the tail's shadow would become another tail and get its own separate shadow, etc etc. And I just don't have that kind of time. Anyway, my tail doesn't look anything like a squirrel's.

Anyway, my tail doesn't look anything like a squirrel's. Agree. More like a beaver's

Perhaps this is the origin of the kitsune myth. Although... where would a squirrel find room for seven tails?

They could be *small* tails.

By far the simplest answer is that Bob ages absurdly quickly, and when he dies is replaced by a clone of himself. Or, y'know, Tom prefers him to look this way.

My personal theory is that the snickering guy is training to be bobs replacement as a future gardener.
