Looks like they're getting along well. Are they siblings in this scenario or is Coyote just calling her "sister" in a generic sense, or as slang? If they are siblings, does that mean Coyote isn't the ML in this story? Or that he is, but Zeta isn't the FL?

Coyote might be teaching Zimmy about how to stabilize and control her connection to the Ether in preparation for a battle yet to come.
If so, it makes me a little more sure that there's something suspicious about the whole thing of moving to another world, and that some Lovecraftian creature might be the final boss.

They seem like classmates to me, if siblings then they would presumably be coming from the same house? But the sister talk is likely a nod to the fact that they are both similar etheric entities. I wonder if they are both trapped in this illusion, or if it is just Zimmy and Coyote is doing his normal thing of taunting people. When the distortion was created, Coyote split from Loup and lept towards Zimmy, I wonder if Loup, and even Ysengrin, are also fellow "students" in this Birmingham high school distortion

It is becoming more and more strange that Zimmy has seemingly lost her accent. Is there a negative correlation between Brummieness and mental health?
Something I have been considering is that just as Antimony has a fire within her that was inherited from her mother, and which seemingly has a personality of its own, perhaps Zimmy's darkness is an entity within her. Perhaps this is it, not Zimmy. They might *both* be etheric gods now in human bodies. Thus: the use of 'sister'. Coyote has already referred to both Reynardine and *Aata*, oddly enough, as his 'cousins'. (Obviously does not explain the name, but hypotheses must always be made.)

If it's a memory then the person who lived it will be the center of it and some details may diverge from the truth based on their subjective perspective. Alternatively, it might be a fiction Coyote whipped up, or a mashup of stronger tropes resulting from the collision, or a literal fictional story they've been dropped into somehow. Whatever the truth is, there's going to be one or more central characters and I suspect we're looking at one or both of them... but not necessarily. They seem like classmates to me, if siblings then they would presumably be coming from the same house? But the sister talk is likely a nod to the fact that they are both similar etheric entities. Could be a blended family or something complex but you may be right. I wonder if they are both trapped in this illusion, or if it is just Zimmy and Coyote is doing his normal thing of taunting people. Remains to be seen but Zeta may be taking refuge here rather than being stuck. When the distortion was created, Coyote split from Loup and lept towards Zimmy, I wonder if Loup, and even Ysengrin, are also fellow "students" in this Birmingham high school distortion I'm guessing "Loup" will be a rebel. I'd expect Coyote will be an antagonist but it's too soon to say (though iff he and Zeta are brother and sister I'd guess he'd be an obstacle to the ML). Will Lana be a popular (with the guys) girl who Zeta has to protect or a villainess she has to dethrone? Will they (Lana and Loup) be an item? Will they cut class and ride around on a motorcycle? Of course, they could all just be boring schmucks going to school in someone's memories but is is high school, therefore some sort of drama is on the schedule.

I think tbe 'sister' was a tongue in cheek reference to the non-real situation, and the sibling elbow dig was a response in kind.
I also think we'll meet Ys and Lana at the bus stop. Maybe Gamma?

"Sister", huh? Even Renard only earned the title "cousin" from Coyote. He must see Zimmy as a divine being equal to himself. Also, this version of Zimmy really is not much like the one we know, except for the color scheme. Her character, her way of speaking, even her face and body size appear different. But of course this might very well be a "What if?" scenario, as in, what if Zimmy hadn't grown up with her Etheric condition?

Coyote might be teaching Zimmy about how to stabilize and control her connection to the Ether in preparation for a battle yet to come. They are only in the distortion because Coyote seemingly mistook Zimmy for Kat (the 'divine being') in chapter ninety. It's unclear that he has much of a grasp on the situation.

Christopher Oyote is probably finding it incredibly amusing to be a human boy in the 1970s.

well, it looks like they're role-playing normal.
"Sister" is not literal; just like "you and me both, brother," right?
And Zimmy is 100% aware that this is just Pleasantville, until the Distortion drops. Or until Annie and Kat show up.
EDIT: Crazy thought, but the whole "teleport in" thing is based upon knowing the place, having been there. How does it work with someplace that's invented seemingly from out of nowhere? Would that make it harder to find Zimmy?

If we don't see Loup running out of a house, with toast hanging out of his mouth, I'm going to be disappointed.

We continue with the school anime scenario that Zimmy and Coyote seem to be in. There's even just a plain white background with black-bordered frames, something that others in the forum have noticed is quite unusual for this comic in general. I'm thinking the format is being used to highlight the change of scenario. At least it isn't printed right to left. Zimmy just wished Coyote would call her that and not Zeta on the previous page, and today Coyote makes small talk about how nice and domestic the world they're in is. Zimmy agrees, adding that it isn't real, although Coyote's response is that it's as real as she wants it to be. Coyote calls her "sister," which raises questions. In response, Zimmy seems to be trying to suppress a smile, then elbows Coyote in typical tsundere fashion. I can think of three possibilities for why Coyote's calling Zimmy "sister," either or both of which (or neither) could be true: - He's using it in the same way he calls Renard "cousin," meaning that she's a kindred ethereal being, with similar powers and a similar trickster bent.
- Coyote and Zimmy are portraying siblings in this scenario that they're playing out.
- It's just a common, meaningless figure of speech (unlikely, given Coyote).
Coyote's comment that it's as real as Zimmy wants it to be signifies either that he's saying Zimmy's in full control of the scenario, or that Coyote's making this happen for Zimmy, for reasons of his own. What's really the case? That remains to be seen ...

I agree the "sister" nomenclature seems to reflect the level of divine power or the like. It has been established that Zimmy is just as powerful as Coyote; he must know that, since Zimmy was the one able to reverse Loup's splitting of Annie. Renard pictured her, I think, as almost like a goddess Kali or Devi. I wonder what that makes Gamma?

Looks like Coyote immediately realized he tricked himself when he mistook Zimmy for Kat. He seems happy to have found a true peer, though.

If they are siblings, does that mean Coyote isn't the ML in this story? Or that he is, but Zeta isn't the FL? Probably spiritual siblings. They both have the ability to distort reality, and now they are existing together in a distorted reality, which may or may not have been created by them. They probably don't know about Omega. Being removed from their normal reality may be giving them both the chance to express aspects of their personalities that normally get repressed. For instance, having a friend with similar powers. Omega is taking advantage of the distortion to experience a life different from what she had; Zimmy and Coyote might be doing the same thing.
