How long before we see an angel? oh that's a good one. I think we could also see a talking stone (not a rock, mind you!) and a Bodhisattva. Also, a man broken, maybe observing them from a prison cell. Following the comic's logic, maybe then Annie can "free" his mind by laser cutting.

First time we see Annie go into Fire Elemental form in a Zimmy distortion right? Damn, she looks really cool, like she leveled up. man low D20 rolls for annie when she missed the fire bolt I think that was intended to be a warning shot.

Surprisingly, the Moss Ogre's name is Timothy. He likes to crochet in his spare time. Squashing elves is an occupation he fell into, not his passion.

How long before we see an angel? Cool, then Angel can team up with the other Marvel wannabes. In the last panel, I see a Beast/ Thing, Wolverine (JK ), and the Human Torch.

After the sudden and improbable appearance of a Moss Ogre, the Tree People have leapt up into the trees, which they can probably do pretty easily, and one of them is even flippant about it, chuckling that they haven't seen one of those for a while. The MO doesn't seem to be doing much but stomping along, but then there's some sort of bolt of fire that strikes the ground near his foot, causing him to recoil from it. It seems to have come from behind him, and when he turns to look, he sees not only a fiery Antimony but also a huge Ysengrin.
Well, we think that's what he sees. That's what we see when he looks. That's not what Annie usually looks like when she's all aflame – this artwork is beautiful, but it's not what we normally see. And I thought Ysengrin walked away in another direction. Tom's comment, "Seems familiar," might be a reference to the fact that Annie's been using the familiar as her guide, but what's the result of that? Annie and Ysengrin vs. Moss Ogre is something we've seen before, so is Annie just revisiting her memories? Have they actually moved? I'm willing to believe that the Tree People might really be here, but Annie's memories might be overlaying the Moss Ogre and Ysengrin (and this different, perhaps idealized, version of herself) onto this forested location that was created by the distortion. That could mean that they really have moved, but they're not where Annie's trying to get to yet. Somebody's going to have to move them again.

Giant Ysengrin led them to this scene, and we're seeing an especially attractive version of Annie messing with a Moss Ogre. A clue that this one is built from Ysengrin's memory? I can't imagine Annie would have such an idealized view of herself, and Renard wasn't present for the original confrontation. Coyote was around but supposedly walked off before she burned the dude. So Ysengrin's memories seem the most likely source. Here's a question: If we assume that these are indeed little vignettes put together from memories, who are they meant for? If the NP and elves are really there, it may be they that are the intended audience. Annie doesn't really brag and I bet none of them have heard the details of Annie's adventures in the forest. Totally agree that Annie looks awesome here. Just wondering why this is being shown and who it is meant for.

Give a moss ogre a FSSSH and you can distract him for a moment. Teach a girl to FSSSH and she'll burn moss ogres to the bone her whole lifetime. [W]e're seeing an especially attractive version of Annie messing with a Moss Ogre... I can't imagine Annie would have such an idealized view of herself, and Renard wasn't present for the original confrontation. I doubt Antimony would consciously describe herself as attractive or powerful as that would be cringe... but at her age it wouldn't surprise me if she thought of herself in grand terms even if she might not realize it. What if all this isn't from her memories exactly, but partially (maybe increasingly) things from her subconscious? That would explain the super-sized Ysengrin. Mort told Antimony she was attractive way back in Ch. 4 and there've been other incidents depicted in the comic where she could get that impression even if she wasn't fully aware of it. Antimony also described the spider-chans as things from the depths of Zeta's mind, which might mean formative memories or something weird but more likely just means they're things from her subconscious that the ether in the distortion made real(ish).

It looks like the same logic of Zimmingham being a manifestation of Zimmy's memories, but applied for the whole Court and Woods?
Right now they are following Annie's memories because they are being guided by her while "figuratively travelling". Wonder if this Zimmerkrigg Court is affected by the memories of everyone else in its area of effect
Is anyone else really there, by the way? Zimmingham used to have fake people. That time Zimmy freaked out in a ceiling full of people, the city looked crowded but only her and Gamma plus Jack and Annie got really "sucked in". There was even a fake Kat, and Annie and Zimmy switched places

It’d be interesting if Antimony simply absorbed her duplicate, on the grounds that she’s already learned to merge with alternate hers.

It’d be interesting if Antimony simply absorbed her duplicate, on the grounds that she’s already learned to merge with alternate hers. Could work but maybe not entirely in a good way. I'll wildly speculate that if Antimony absorbed big!Antimonysfire, which I think is an aspect of Antimony's memory and subconscious made real(ish) by the distortion, or vice-versa the result would be a much more powerful and much less in control Antimony. We may have an example in Zeta, who I think could partly be the way she is because she's been worked over by things in her own subconscious. Unlike Zeta, Antimony 3 would probably suffer from too much self-esteem, maybe way too much, but would probably be popular anyway.

Not inconsistent. He led them there, then left. They were in the desert, then while looking at the sun Annie was reminded of something, which turned out to be "Ysengrin's forest". Annie smiled at Ysengrin, then followed the others as they were drawn to the green lighted area, which turned out to contain elves.
Annie is pretty chill about things, being used to Ysengrin and the forest and Zimmy's mindscapes. Confident enough to punt a Coyote Prairie Dog rather than solving its riddle!

BTW, that's Ysengrin behind Annie and the Moss Ogre, right? A large version, like the one we just saw. More evidence for this being a scenario loosely adapted from Ysengrin's memories... or Loup's, depending on how all that works.

I guess Antimony is conscious that she's more powerful than Paz; in the GCU Paz is probably not a great benchmark of who's powerful but I think that does show Antimony thinks she's more powerful than a typical(ish) girl of the same age. Also of note: Fannie immediately responds to Courtnie saying she/they could snap Paz like a twig with "D-Don't say that!" before later agreeing... which implies Antimony thinks saying that out loud is indeed a bit cringe, even given the circumstances.

It's true that Paz has a limited version of one of Aquaman's powers... I guess if she and Antimony death-battled near the ocean Paz could maybe summon enough sea creatures to carry her out of range... but Antimony can lift herself with the ether or just astral-project, and therefore could fly after Paz if she thinks of it. Even if Antimony flies over the water physically the odds of creatures being nearby that can leap (or be flung by other sea creatures) out and attack are pretty low and they'd get about one try before Antimony increases altitude in response, and I'm not sure any random birds would be of any use against Antimony's fire-power. In that case I guess Paz would have to hide underwater deep enough to avoid heat attacks, maybe have a chain of animals bringing her air from the surface by the mouthful... At best that's a draw if Antimony gets tired of waiting and flies back to shore, or different creatures go find Lindsey and tattle. If Antimony notices the life-support brigade and starts frying them Paz might run out of creatures before rescue arrives, or ethereally travel down and strangle her, and if course if Paz can't actually reach the ocean before Antimony attacks the only thing the creatures can do is be witnesses at Antimony's trial, if that's somehow made possible. A big zoo would be Paz's best bet, containing a variety of animals and habitats close together with plenty of cover, especially if she can reach it first and spend some time making friends and setting them free. She could have them attack in waves from the land and air simultaneously while Paz herself hides, and if things go sideways she can try hiding underwater in a tank or just escaping. Even that depends on Antimony coming after Paz physically, not stashing her bod somewhere safe and hunting her from the ether. In that case maybe some animals can sense astral!Annie and distract her or at least tell Paz where she needs to run away from. So, uh... Paz runs from hiding place to hiding place, while a parrot calls 911 for help..? I think even if Paz is smart and lucky Antimony would have to be reckless and dumb for Paz to have a small chance of winning... and even that's dependent on Paz being able to command or quickly convince creatures to risk (probably sacrifice) their lives for her one after another after another and I'm not sure she can do that. I'm picturing... PAZ: "Mr. Lion! This evil girl is coming to kill me! Won't you please help me?" LION: (roars) "You're cute so of course I will! My claws and fangs are sharp, I will rip her flesh and gnaw her bones!" PAZ: (opens habitat door) "Great, you're free! Quickly, hide in those bushes and wait until you see her come by, then pounce!" LION: (strides proudly into foliage, hides so that only eyes are seen) "What does this evil girl look and smell like?" PAZ: "Um, she has pale skin and she has bright red hair that glows and goes up if she's mad. Her eyes are blue when they aren't glowing. Oh, and she may smell like smoke. She might be flying, or walking on the ground, or maybe invisible. Or she may just look like a girl-shaped fire." LION: "Is this girl perchance a fire elemental or demon?" PAZ: "Only a little! She's mostly human with just a tiny bit of fire elemental way back in her ancestry. You just have to surprise her! Leap for her throat and tear it out with your wonderful teeth before she can use her heat laser beam things! Or her flames!" LION: "Her what? Awhellno. Nope. Nope. Nope!" (strides quickly out of foliage and back into habitat) PAZ: "Wait! Did I mention that she's really evil? I overheard her say that she would kill every cub in the whole world! That's why we must work together to stop her!" LION: (picks up fallen branch from habitat perch-tree) "I can have more cubs. There is a small stone cubby in the back of this cage where we can hide when the sun is too bright or when the crowds become overbearing. I'll have my mate move the cubs down there and then hide with them until this evil girl has gone." PAZ: "Well, I guess that's better than facing her out here. Is there room for all of us?" LION: (uses branch to wedge habitat door shut from inside) "All of us, yes." PAZ: "That won't help! She can just burn the branch to ash or melt through the bars!" LION: "It will help. It will help keep you out, which may help us survive. You go hide somewhere else, human girl." PAZ: "Mierda."

Since the ocean is a Court ocean there's non standard creatures that could be in there and help. Annie vs a flying spaghetti monster There's no guarantee that one will be near enough that Paz can communicate with it. Also not sure an etheric creature counts as an animal. Or that she can persuade it fast enough to matter. I guess she could stall while screaming for help. Honestly, Paz's best shot would be to scrounge enough tech and chemicals to make an anti-personnel mine and plant it under an unsuspecting Antimony's mattress when nobody else is at home; that's how we used to get rid of OP enemies in the Cyberpunk ttrpg back in the day. Find out where they like to sleep, plant a mine there. Surprise, choom. Renard's nose might be enough to cast even that into doubt. He could smell the explosives, or at least that someone or something had been in there.
