I still hope this develops into "Coyote is entertained by this development" rather than "Coyote is unhappy his plan got derailed", but so far he doesn't look impressed.
Although either way I don't think he's going to give up on dying.

At least he's still in the habit of blaming Ys Loup rather than putting all this on Lana.

Possible development: - Coyote spots Rey looking on.
- Coyote takes back the body swapping ability
- Coyote possesses Annie -> Annie+
- Annie+ takes the sword from Rey
- Annie+ skewers Jerrek/Loup with it
- As Lana comforts her dying love, Annie+ -> Annie because Coyote can do that.
- Coyote winks at Annie, proclaims all is fixed, can we have a guide please? and vanishes

To be fair, it can take a little while for Coyote to recall he is the *Great* Coyote, and all the tricks are his. Even the ones at his expense.

Coyote, uncharacteristically, still doesn't find it funny.

Although either way I don't think he's going to give up on dying. Same here. His personality can change so fast and is so unpredictable that it really can go either way. But I'm hoping he might eventually see the funny side of things and become pleased that he really doesn't know everything, which has to be a rare scenario for him. In fact, has it ever been shown Coyote isn't completely omniscient and was blindsided by anything else before this moment? This might be a completely new experience for him just like dying was.

Not explicitly, although the legends associated with him show a fallible streak: everything he creates (eg glass-eyed people) is slightly flawed.

He also straight-up mistook Antimony for Surma and then thought Eglamore was the father.

In response to Coyote's question, Lana introduces herself as Jerrek's girlfriend. Jerrek/Loup looks away, while Annie stands there with her arms crossed and eyes closed – "not my circus, not my monkeys." Coyote slow-burns for a frame (another priceless Coyote expression) before erupting at Jerrek for falling in love with the "wrong person." Coyote's forepaws are on Jerrek's shoulders, and his exclamation has enough sheer sonic volume to blow the wide-eyed Jerrek's hair back. There's a Dutch angle judging from the row of buildings in the distance, and Coyote's word balloon is even tilted.
Basically a comedic moment. We still don't know what the consequences will be yet.

I love this. The God of Maximum Drama went to all this trouble to knit together this whole tragic story but the main characters went and did their own thing, this is wonderful 😂😂😂 This dumb dog planned for years and DIED for this and now he is all put out because Romeo didn't fall for Juliette and even if they kill each other it won't be as much fun This is how I wish every greek tragedy went

He does seem to have been surprised about the Court making Smitty their medium instead of Annie, but since it played right into his hand, he was happy to go along with it. A surprise that goes directly against what he wants? Might be a new experience. Also, I sure hope Coyote's breath smells godly. Well, he has been dead for a while, so...

So basically Coyote wanted to die as operatically as possible, but instead he ended up doing cameos in an operetta? Guess we should have seen it coming when Antimony was revealed as her own long-lost twin sister! Ysengrin's an incorrigible Philistine.

I honestly cannot see how this alters Coyote's plan at all... if Annie is truly destined to stab Loup, does it really matter whether Loup is in love with her or not? And why on earth it's essential that Coyote gloats about it?! (I mean I guess there ARE reasons, otherwise this plot would not be happening; I just can't see what said reasons are!)

I remain puzzled by what Coyote's actual plan was, and why he went to so much effort (and pain) to set it in motion. Clearly, having Loup (mostly Ysengrin) learn about love and fall in love wasn't the whole thing, as that happened and Coyote is displeased. It needed to be Annie specifically for some reason. Yet, he said he picked Annie because he thought she might be someone Ysengrin could fall for. I think that last part isn't quite true, though I'm not sure where the loophole is (since he supposedly can't lie). Maybe his shade can? So he really needed Loup to fall in love with Annie, specifically, and for Annie to then kill him. Annie wouldn't be willing to kill anyone unless she had to do it to stop them from doing something terrible, and didn't see another way. The only two clues we have that I can see are that he expected Annie to do the deed and be torn up about it due to being in love with her victim, and that Annie a psychopomp. She is, you know - she doesn't know the job well but the ROTD denizens identified her as one quite clearly, and she's taken more than one person into the ether! So Loup fell in love with Lana instead of Annie, Annie isn't in love (romantically) with anyone, and Coyote's plan is blown. Probably. What will he do next? My theory is still that Coyote wants to be taken into the ether, and he thought this plan would result in Annie doing it. Why angst was required and why the plan had to be so elaborate, I do not know. Maybe taking someone like Coyote into the ether is against the rules?
I suppose it's possible that his plan is still on, and Annie will end up having to kill him instead of Jerrek due to a massive god-dog freakout, in which case what we're seeing now is just Coyote Drama (tm).

Another thought: Jerrek actually didn't figure out Coyote's plan. He knows more about the Court's plan than Coyote's! He worked at it a while but falling for Lana short-circuited his interest, and he explicitly stated he doesn't want to die nor have anything to do with the toothsword.
Coyote's plan doesn't seem to be doing so well. If his plan was intended to end with Annie taking him into the ether so the Court wouldn't get his energy, he's going to have to work at it a bit.
