Yep, Robot apparently said La Mao Ex Dee and immediately ratted Jerrek out. And he probably was still smiling.

Come to think of it, I still don't really trust Robot. Well, I trust him to do what he thinks needs doing whatever he has to do or say to achieve that. So I guess I trust him as much as I trust Aata.

If Loup ends up joining the Scoobies, then the real BBEG of the series might actually be whatever is behind the "new world" that Court people are planning to migrate to.
It might be that there is no new planet, and that it's all a ruse to get fresh food into the maw of a Lovecraftian Outer God. After all, the Court IS in some sort of dimensional causeway...

I suppose we should consider the possibility that Robot also informed the girls about the Seraphs' post-Torn Sea meeting. Maybe everything creepy he's ever done has since been overwritten by a Kat-coached retake! Come to think of it, I still don't really trust Robot. Well, I trust him to do what he thinks needs doing whatever he has to do or say to achieve that. So I guess I trust him as much as I trust Aata. Hey, Aata tried to kill Loup, admitted to helping zombify the Court robots, and generally expresses pro-human bigotry whenever he has the opportunity. Robot, at worst, helped the Seraphs to conduct some civil disobedience performance art. Clearly quiet smiling dudes are much more trustworthy when they're semisynthetic. Also, Aata did not do what he thought he needed to do to take Loup out, because Shell. He's an evil romantic, not an evil pragmaticist.

Considering "all myths are real" and the Lovecraftian mythos, at this point, is as myth-y as any modern pantheon, and the fact that Bud and Lyndsey are aliens*, there may be something to that. It'd also be a very dark twist on the psychopomping the comic started out with. Ferrying fresh souls somewhere indeed, brrr.... * Aliens being sufficiently analysed gods, and gods being sufficiently advanced aliens.

I wonder if knowing robots can lie will change his opinion of Lana at all? "You sit on a throne of lies!!" My guess: Jerrek gets the wrong end of the stick and blames Lana. They temporarily break up but after shenanigans he proves himself and they get back together. And thus the alchemical pairing motif of the comic (a god brought down to human and a robot uplifted to human, romantically together) is fulfilled again. If anything, Jerrek/Lana is very much the entire comic in ultra quick micro fractal form. Court and Forest in harmony.

I still don't trust S13. "He told us right away."? I'm not so sure. That would mean Annie knew that Jerrek was Loup at this point and telling him all kinds of information she had just found out, being obviously friendly with him. And then agreeing to go to the Star Ocean with him without any backup or protection. Annie just doesn't act at all as if she knew.
I can see Annie knowing about it at this point - probably rather obvious in hindsight - but I'm not convinced S13 really told the two of them right away. And his particular phrasing of "Anyone else you can do with as you wish." when making the deal... Why specifically exclude protection for all the non-NP dear to Kat? No, I'm still convinced S13 has his own goals and is playing both sides.

You know one dynamic that I like in stories? One where the reader is privy to information that the characters are not. Even better is if the information is something one character is deliberately trying to keep hidden from another character. I like it when I have all the information available and get to consider how one without the information would think. With this in mind, I found the revelations over the last weeks to be disappointing. We both find out that robots can lie and that Annie and Kat already knew this information, so there was not much reader's advantage to speak of; it was all charades. I still don't trust S13. "He told us right away."? I'm not so sure. What I suspect happened is that Annie contacted Robot or Kat about Jerrek's strange behaviour when going to the Star Ocean which prompted Robot to reveal that Jerrek is Loup.

We both find out that robots can lie and that Annie and Kat already knew this information, so there was not much reader's advantage to speak of; it was all charades. I see what you're trying to say; but I don't see why the revelations would be disapointing. I don't remember it ever being stated in the comic that robots CAN'T lie; has it been stated somewhere, or is it just the common assumption in sci-fi works that machines can't say any non-true statements? Even if robots cannot technically lie, Robot is not... the robot-robot he once was. We already see that he has imagination and wishes and desires, and that he is capable of duplicity (either by tricking Loup, or by betraying Kat). Even if Court robots were originally unable to lie, I don't see why it would be far-fetched to think that Robot, with all the augmentations and relationships he has been through, should not have been able to develop this ability. What I'm trying to say is, I cannot see why whether Robot was able to lie or not was such a crucial hint that we were deprived of?

Sounds inefficient. In GKC my bets are hedged between “in-Ether politics”, “ billiard style gardening proactive manipulation of the humans for shaping Ether” and “we did it for the lulz”. We still don’t even know what the bunch advising Anthony tried to do. Annie knows Loup is not inclined to harm her, and could have been fishing for information. And fuming at Aata could mask her irritation at Loup. But yes. If not right away, most likely S13 considers the deal broken by Loup. Not that he does not have any reasons.

What's great about Robot is how much of a Inverse Frankenstein he is. If Adam had been nurtured by Doc Frankenstein who's to say he wouldn't have grown into an absolute fanboy for the good doctor, up to and including thinking of Frankenstein as some kind of god-figure?

They're not going to let him go, are they?
I mean, sure, listen to what the mad god has to say, hear him out or whatever. But I get the gut feeling that any early release of Jerrek will lead to him saying "later, dweebs!" before making a Looney Tunes exit.

Damn Annie must be infuriated hearing that Loup wants to make "amends". Especially after what he did to Renards body. To her, it must sound like some kind of shamless trick or outright mockery. I hope nothing irreversible is done in an emotional outburst.
