Quick Loup, ruin something else, that'll make everything right.
I wonder if we'll follow him or switch back to Kat here, interested to see how she'll come away from this big meeting.

Curses, my cunning plan to split them up so I could have her all to myself has failed!

Honestly it's really creepy if he's really doing this because he has a crush on Annie.

"Feh"? Loup speaks Yiddish now? (Jewish chick laughs hard enough to scare the cat)No, but seriously, what was Annie about to confide? Well, we already knew one of her powers as a fire elemental is being especially attractive to Etheric beings, in a general sense. All the apparently silly material about how to rebuff robots hitting on you has looked like foreshadowing for a good while now. Really though I think Coyote always coldly resented, and Ysengrin hotly resented, Renard's involvement with the Court, and that may have even been the original intent, predating Annie and maybe even Surma. But, truly, any particular attraction he has for Annie is crude and animalistic to a degree because he is, however gifted with intelligence, a crude primal being, the essence of the Forest, and in opposition to the Court. Yeah, I know it amused Coyote to play house with the Court for a while, but it was never going to end with some sort of permanently amicable marriage of such disparate cultures.

This came to mind: if Renard's original body really is gone, then Kat could make a new body for Renard with her bio tech.
It also brings to mind: Renard could get a special weaponized body that can be used to go toe to toe with Loup in a fight.

This is deadly serious stuff in a deceptively plain and simple package, to be sure. It's one thing for the 700-odd-year-old legendary character to offer to spend the 70-odd years of a human companion's remaining life with her. That would be a commitment roughly equivalent to what I gave to my last job. But we have two arguably immortal entities here pledging an eternal life bond. If I were the mother of either of them I would gently remind them how much work they will have to put in to maintain that bond, even if they do everything right.
Of course I have to remind myself that the "familiar" relationship already contained all this, so although it is serious, it isn't a surprise.

This is so sweet, it smells like a red flag. It has the same emotional impact of announcing he's going to retire and marry his high school sweetheart.
Wild spec: Rey's about to die.

After Renard says he'll follow Annie wherever she goes, even to the psychopomps, and Annie agrees, Renard pops into humanoid-plushie form and hops onto her shoulder. They agree never to part, and Renard says his current body (made by Surma, owned by Annie) isn't so bad.
But Loup, in Jerrek form, has been watching and listening from a distance and is not pleased by this. Jealous of the bond between Annie and Renard, he hopes to move closer to Annie as Jerrek, but his act of revenge seems to have driven Annie and Renard closer together, so this may make Loup's task more difficult.
Jerrek/Loup departs with a "Feh," going elsewhere. Will we follow him on the next page, or will we continue to follow Annie and Renard? This looks like a pullaway from them. Does this mean that we'll see what happens to Jerrek next? This implies that either he'll do something, or something will happen to him. What could that be? Well, Lana could find Jerrek and express her affection for him, which would be an awesome development. Or the Court could attempt to entrap him, still needing a godlike amount of etheric energy, and perhaps they'll do a better job than Kat did. Perhaps Omega predicted where he'd go – or perhaps they can use Omega inversely, finding the locus of the uncertainties in Omega's predictions. Or perhaps we'll just see the next nefarious thing Loup plans to do. But I really think that the artwork, showing Jerrek moving at Loup-speed but not looking where he's going, suggests that he'll bump into something he didn't expect.

So if we don't see what's right after, I'm guessing he says/thinks "Like I care that he is around Antimony often. It's not like I'm jealous>:-(!".

I'm choosing to ignore possible creepiness here because the Loup failing and Rey dying comments have my cynicism firing in a new direction: Loup is aware his shot didn't land and if anything had the opposite effect he wanted. Sure hope he doesn't escalate things further because of that. Like by splitting the magic link between Annie and Rey or doing something else only a God could.

If you know a lick of js, poke at what proboards is doing in the background and yeah there's a script that adds viglink redirects to any link that isn't a proboards.com domain. It's actually been going on for years (apparently at least August 2016 going off of a quick search of the forums), it just seems in the past week or so they stepped it up a notch so it's happening more often. ublock origin filter proboards.com##^script:has-text(vglnk) if you're not on a chromium-based browser

Rey: Antimony, those are your lock-picking tools. They’ve been in my body since I took control of it—for two or three years now. Annie: ... They’re sharp though. Rey: I think I used them as claws one time.

I wonder what Loup thought was going to happen? He had to know Annie wouldn't drop him or think less of him as a result of what was done. Maybe he was just hoping to make him really depressed? Crush his furry little ego? As for the viglink thing, I did a little research. It's both a legit monetization company, AND a vehicle used for malware. Don't know which yet but I won't be linking to anything here until it is resolved. I assume this is something only proboards can resolve, and they may be doing it on purpose. Who knows? If you google for it, the removal guide on pcrisk.com provides a pretty good explanation, but again, if proboards is doing this on purpose, then nothing can be done by us. I'm actually sort of glad it isn't on my end - sometimes URL-writers are malware on your local system or inserted by your internet provider. This seems to be confined to proboards.
I recommend not clicking any of those links until we know for sure.

Crush his furry little ego? Good question. I dunno if Loup really had a end result in mind. Create drama through trauma, assuming that would strain the relationship? Maybe he thought Rey would blow up or breakdown when he lost his original body and lash out the way Ysengrin might respond.
