Does this mean that Jones has talked to kids (or consulted other information sources) other than what we've seen in the comic about Antimony's reunification?
(I am thinking so)
Also: Jones' word choices here are interesting. She uses "can you tell me" instead of "would you" in panel #2 and offers Paz a way to navigate the conversation around the details of the confrontation-with-Antimonies in panel #4. Both of those choices imho increased the chances of Paz opening up.

So she does feel guilty about it. Guess she needed some time to cool off and reflect.
Edit: Then again, she's also not one to back down from the wellbeing of those she cares about.
Edit again: Yeah, I don't think she's feeling bad about seeking the confrontation in the first place at all, just the handling.

1. Attempting to give them cement shoes and send them for a swim. Badly and wrong are the understatement of the year. Nope I'm still entertained at pretending that to be the case. 2. Probably can enjoy all entertainment without translations or fanslations.

And certainly yields more metadata in process.

My first thought on this page is, it seems to be that Jones has some sort of specific theory in mind and is digging around for confirmation. I have no idea what it might be - and what would Jones even mean by acting strangely in the context of the confrontation with Paz?
As for that - is that why Paz acted as she did on the previous page? But why would she even think Jones knows about it? On this page she seems surprised that Jones in fact does somehow know. I still think there was something else worrying her.

Tom has pointed out before that Paz is a country girl from Galicia, so she speaks (or sometimes speaks) in a rural Galician dialect. I would expect Jones to speak more formally in a majority dialect. It isn't really a question of better or worse, except to schoolteachers. Edit: the accidentally omitted text was Jones speaks Spanish better than Paz does.

Jones is so old, she could probably speak/read/write many of the world's forgotten languages. If this leads to a chapter where Team Gunnerkrigg goes to the ruins of Atlantis or has to decipher inscriptions on an ancient artifact, it would be pretty awesome.

Right, just as the choice of adressing her in Spanish - a language that most, if not all other people present do not understand, so the conversation is much more private.

However, don't forget that Jones has made it a rule for herself to never tell humans scientific or (pre-)historical facts unless they found out by themselves.

"I guess looking back, it was kinda strange that they didn't shoot fire or sick Reynard at me. I don't mean to gossip more, but I hear she's done both those things before, rather casually."
All Jokes aside, poor Paz. Just wants to move past her blowup but people have to focus on it hard because it has to do with Annie.

Neither the words she used nor her expression are definitive in either direction, which makes it a little frustrating, but like I said in the previous discussion, this probably means that this is still going to be an issue going forward and it does not end here.

you misspelled embarrassment for your last word No blushing, avoiding eye contact. Avoiding eye contact doesn't imply lying or embarrassment exclusively. Even blushing isn't definitive, so much so that I's be willing to bet that if Paz was blushing it would be still be seen by some as a sign lying. Last panel looks like embarrassment to me as well, but this is definitely going to be another one of those times people see different emotions/motives for Paz base on what her role is in there interpretation.

Edit: the accidentally omitted text was Jones speaks Spanish better than Paz does.I work with several Galicians, the Galician language is more similar to Portuguese than Spanish, although with significant differences from both, most Galicians speak both Galician and Spanish though. I like this page though, shows that Paz is seeing that her previous actions were wrong and is admitting it to other people, which is a good step. (Despite half the forumgoers painting everything she does with some nasty intent)

Notable to me that Jones is using the informal "you" here ('contigo', as opposed to 'con usted'). Pretty normal for a teacher talking to a student, but one might expect Jones to be extra-formal considering she's Jones. Adds to the gentle tack she seems to be taking with Paz here, in attempt to get her to open up.

It's that she did something bad and hasn't done anything to make up for it. That's it. I feel like you're oversimplifying the other side of the argument.

I got two questions: one, purely out of curiosity, how does one swing an ad hoc pluralization like "Antimonys" in Spanish? Does it come off as oddly as it does in English?
Two, what in heck is Jones' theory here. Does she think one of the Antimonae took off to spy on the Court and they're covering it up with a hilariously bad "oh uh we're just suddenly one person again for no reason, haha weird"? Or does she know something about Tony's conditional social skills that might make her suspicious about the nature of the whole event? Personally I'm partial to Loup having done some kinda trojan horse thing where Forest Annie is just like a doll made of mud, but all the supernatural creatures acting like they know what happened throws a wrench in that.
Sidenote: Do we know for sure if Loup is bound by Coyote's rule of never lying?

I find it likely that it's not a literal translation, and that Tom just wrote the conversation in English first without thinking about what they're actually saying. In this case, however, "Antimony" is a word that already has an equivalent in Spanish, since it's a chemical, and so pluralizes pretty easy--Los Antimonios, literally "the antimonies." It still sounds a little odd to have a singular noun pluralized, but it's arguably less awkward than it sounds in English.
