And silver goes to an extremely-awkward-about-it Forest Annie! (And awww, poor Courtney.)

Huh, now that one does surprise me, especially the size of the split

Number 1 is Tea or Rey. ... Boxbot?

So Rey is #1 then. OR will Tom sucker punch us with an arbitrary Robox victory? The suspense is killing me.

I would have loved to see Tony in the Top10 (or at least featured as a secondary character in one of the others' presentations), but I don't think Tony will be No. 1, and I can't imagine Tony being part of anybody else's winning portrait. But we'll see.

I mean Courtnie did let out quite a bit of colorful metaphors, but sure. She was understanding.

Forest!Annie beat Kat straight up. What?? Well Annie is the main character, so while I wouldn't have predicted that result, it is not unexpected either. Although Sylvannie might have received some extra points because of the competition against Courtnie. I wonder how many readers Jeanne had to threaten to get that n°1 spot.

Renard beating Zimmy, Kat and Annie (Forest) I didn't expect. It still sounds somewhat implausible. But then, I can't think of any other character that could gain that amount of votes. And even though his role in the story has been shifted to the background so far, the fox has a lot going on for him still. Hmm, maybe Tony, readers reacted very strongly to him at his entrance (judging the forums at that time) and maybe he has enough fans able to look past his absolutely disastrous manner of handling emotions and parenting, and intrigued by his complexity and the mysteries his behaviour still harbors?
Renard still seems more plausible though.

Just noticed Forest!Annie's dress has nods to her earlier forest outfit.

No 1 is Renard, which is not to say Tom won't troll us by claiming it's Boxbot then revealing the truth on Saturday or something.

They should have been 1 character IMO. I think most people saw forest Annie as the Annie from the entire comic, hence the higher number than Court Annie.
I think (hope) Renard is no 1, I can't believe he wouldn't make it to top 10.

What an upset! I would never have expected such a gap between the two! Also, I was already very wrong about thinking Mort would just carry away the win without a sweat, so maybe I'm not the best judge here!

Tony as a POPULAR character would blow my mind. Fans reacted strongly, but with outright dislike.

If tony gets n°1 I will send Tom a letter and I don't care if he doesn't read it.

Maybe Court Annie would have been higher if she had a 2nd comic about the court that was 77 chapters + over the course of 15 years

Tony as a POPULAR character would blow my mind. Fans reacted strongly, but with outright dislike. Not if you started reading within the last year and a half or so. Then as you binge read the comic from the start (and yes, you did), you saw Tony as an unmitigated villain in the morning, and a misguided-and-struggling-but-ultimately-caring father by the early afternoon. That's what happened to me at least, and now I can't type any more because I need to keep my fingers crossed...

While I still enjoy GC and I'm very invested in it having been reading it for well over 10 years, I have to say that it became noticeably less enjoyable to read for a long time after Tony returned and subjected Annie to a great deal of misery. It's unlikely he will be replaced as my least favourite character regardless of what he does in the future.

As a scumbag, he can potentially become a not-scumbag at some point in the future. He even seems to be making some tentative steps in that direction. I would like to see him continue on this path, and to me at least this makes him a very compelling character.
