Looks like it. But what the ether is a robot head (?) doing in a bucket? Oil bath?

Hmmm... Kudos to whoever guessed that the ocean would be a visual metaphor for the robot(s) expanded consciousness, I guess?

Tan cloth is Kat (or someone) wrapped up in some tan cloth and a god metaphor, I'll bet money on it.

Tan cloth is Kat (or someone) wrapped up in some tan cloth and a god metaphor, I'll bet money on it. I think it might actually be Juliet, and Arthur is telling the story of their journey to achieve higher consciousness for his sake. She's wearing a similar coloured robe in the last treatise.
Then they'll meet Kat later when they can see her work has reached the point of making a real difference.

It could be Juliette but there's a chance it's another robot guiding this one through the process, in which case brace for some evangelizing.

Oh this chapter is definitely off to a fascinating start. Could this be what the ether looks like to a robot?

Maybe this robot is dead/becoming alive, and it met a pschyopomp who does deal in electrical appliances?
Anyway, it seems we are in for weird times again, I am excited.

Is this water, or is the bucket just standing on a flat stone/sand surface? Since it's all so flat, there's no way to tell with that grey color. Also, WOW, SUDDEN ROCK APPEARED NEXT TO MY BUCKET!

For some reason Flat Stanley strikes me as a two-dimensional version of being papercliped and symbolically being in robot jail. Maybe Robot is preaching to the cult and this is how one of the bots is interpreting his sermon too literally.
"... trapped in my flat existence, floating in my tears, alone in an infinite plane with no features." "Then the Angel appeared, an extra dimensional rock of consistency, ..."
Cookies for those who thought the chapter thumbnail was a bucket!

I've been waiting years for an explanation to why Robot " predicted the coming of an angel". I hope this is finally it. Edit: To clarify, I'm thinking "robot screensaver dream". The bucket represents its hardware body, and the head represents its software mind. Now that I think about it, Robot and Arthur probably have human-like dreams now.

"Do Robots Dream of Wooden Buckets?"
Of course, none of this is happening. I like the idea of a metaphor being taken literally.
The rock also appears to have moved along with the tan cloth. Maybe it represents something beyond just a rock for the cloth to sit on. (Strength? Earth? I'm suddenly reminded of Jones, since she is also not quite human; yet not a robot either.)

Wha...good GOD, man, that is an OBSCURE (and subtle) reference. I'm outraged at you, but also kind of outraged at myself for almost immediately recognizing it. I may or may not have spent a little too much time rereading the comic over and over again.

What came to my mind was a flatworm. A primitive lifeform, peeking out of a bucket, like a "fish" stepping onto land, perhaps?

The bucket made me think of bud, so until this guy gets a name we can call him Robud. Or Eglamore if that's too confusing. The flat robot head also makes me think about skeletoon from the ROTD, so I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be something ethery, or after-lifey as some have mentioned. Or maybe it's the way the electronic robots perceive the world after their conscience were transferred into the metal golems.

I am not sure why but my brain just assumed the voice belonged to Jones for some reason. I think the stone and flowing fabric evoked some images from past chapters in my mind.
