Things that might happen (not that I hope they will):
- Annie gets upset and literally runs away (not as likely as it would have been in the past)
- Annie gets upset/feels betrayed and gets treated as though she's being completely unreasonable, making overreaction more likely

R-Randy Disaster is looking a little funny... Oh! maybe that's it, we're so far down the timeline Kat has already succeeded and grew a robot that looks like Tony because irony! or Annie is going to wake with a start next to Suzanne Pleshette and tell her about this crazy dream she had?
crap, it's Tony isn't it.
I mostly kid, I actually really like Tony as a character so I'm really interested in this reveal. I just miss Randy.

"So since you're here, and you are now in on Kat's Super Secret Robot Plan, why don't you tell us about the Omega Device?" ...is what I'd probably say in Annie's place. Or, what I'd try to say, at least, I might not be able to get any words to come out at all.

I know a lot of people called this, but honestly I didn't take it seriously for a second. This is completely out of left field! Especially considering how literally EVERY time Kat and Tony have interacted or Kat has even been asked about her opinion on him, the response from her has been pure, boiling, seething hatred the likes of which would make Genghis Khan pee himself.
Also I like Kat's new haircut. Is this the shortest we've ever seen her go?

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! (Kat's hair is nice, though!) My eyes! They burnnnn! THEY BURN! Yet, her hair is really quite fetching. I look forward to this development. Both in fleshing out Tony's character and in the daughter/farther story.

Possible outcomes on Monday: 1.- "Antimony, you will apologize right now for interrupting us, go change and drop that ridiculous attire in the garbage, and come back: we're going to experiment in you. " 2.- "Oh, geez, Sorry, bro, I left the door unlocked again". 3.- "... so, you were saying?" 4.- "Annie, I'm your new mom!"

So now I just have a bunch of questions regarding how this social structure works. Is Tony working for the Court, or for the Shadow Men, or for himself? How did he manage to make KAT like him?! How much does the Court really know of the inner workings of the Shadow Men, and vice versa?

Especially considering how literally EVERY time Kat and Tony have interacted or Kat has even been asked about her opinion on him, the response from her has been pure, boiling, seething hatred the likes of which would make Genghis Khan pee himself. Yeah, my reaction is the same. I thought there was not a chance Kat would be working with Anthony. But... this does thicken the plot. I guess that's why Tom did it, to subvert our expectations. It seems by this time the forum goers are in tune with Tom's ways and have predicted him correctly! Haha. This makes me think back on Tony, the way he cleaned out his house of surveillance. That's a connection to the Shadow Men waiting to happen. It's not like such a thing would go unnoticed: "Hey guys, suddenly we have no feed from this guy Anthony's house, and he's our main Omega guy who recently returned without a hand from a weird pilgrimage! No reason this should be suspicious, yeah?" And there's the whole Omega thing, too. Big kudos to those who have figured it out. Tony's surgical skills and biochemical knowledge will probably be invaluable to Kat's efforts.

That is the weirdest part to me - Annie clearly loves her dad and wants Kat to like him, so while there is definitely some awkwardness around the issue of "Your ice queen dad is my new bff coworker, it's been great!!!!", I don't know why Kat would hide it from her. Or maybe Annie already knows they're working together and is simply shocked that they get along so well, when (as Zox Tomana pointed out) she and Anthony never did..I mean, when has she last seen her father smile at anything?I think there are two time lapses we should take into account. Possibly several months have passed since we last saw Annie. This is why her hair has grown longer, why she's wearing short sleeves. Several days have passed since we've last seen Kat, during which time she and Tony managed to get past the initial awkwardness and invested into the work. If it was just several days, that would be long enough for Annie not to have known, and be surprised by it. It would also be long enough that Kat didn't have time to tell Annie, or that they wouldn't have seen each other. The thing that messes with this is Kat's haircut. I'd say she got one in the past few days, but hair changes have signified time passage in this comic, so I'm not so sure. But if my theory isn't correct, then I can't imagine how Kat could've worked with Tony for months without Annie finding out sooner. *throws hands in air*

Well, here it goes the last time Annie smiles in a looong time. For what, the seventh time? I'm pretty sick of that particular storyline. Hopefully she handles it more constructively this time.

Well, I voted for him in the poll, but it's still weird to see it happening. Although, it does make a certain kind of sense: Kat is the daughter of Tony's best mate Donny, after all. And he's been her teacher for several months now, so they're at least intellectually familiar with each other. Kat may have realized the huge benefits of working with her (highly competent) biology teacher on her PROTEIN! project, gritted her teeth, and agreed to bury the hatchet. And then, due to their shared interests, started liking him in spite of herself? COOL BEANS! is a weird way to spell MEANWHILE IN AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE! Ooh, Tom's started doing your job for you, eh?

Tony's presence here doesn't necessarily mean that he's the one helping out with the Get Arthur A Hot Bod project. Doesn't necessarily mean he's not either. Just sayin'. COOL BEANS! is a weird way to spell MEANWHILE IN AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE! Ooh, Tom's started doing your job for you, eh? If Kat calls Annie "sis" on the next page, I shall know I have been truly replaced! Which is just as well, I suppose. About a week or so ago I got an email from Photobucket telling me that my hotlinking privileges have been been revoked unless I pay a subscription fee, with an odd sort of undertone to the message like "It has always been this way, and shame on you for using the links we ourselves continued to provide you on your free account". I would figure out somewhere else to host them and go back through my posts to change all the links, but I am, like, superlazy. *releases new youtube video* "Gunnerkrigg Court Is Exactly Like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Annie Is Shinji ( !!!), Part 1" *posts inevitable youtube comment* Oh come on, with Annie's hair and firey temper, surely she's Asuka! And with her new haircut, Kat is obvs being set up as Shinji! GO DIE IN A FIRE I FYOU CAN"T GET IT RITE PS, Jones is Rei, a retroactively created imperfect Surma clone that Tony created in such a way that she can never lose her soul because she can never die. OBVS.

What the...?!Even if he is not the mysterious coworker, Tony chillin' with Kat telling jokes alone is enough to warrant this reaction. And the fact that Kat has not told Annie anything warrants it again. Well, I would have liked to have seen how Annie and Tony had dinner together during the last chapter, see if anything had changed between them by then. What is this guys problem? this isn't about his hand. He is still trying to get Surma back. I really doubt that. The problem with bringing Surma back isn't the body part, it's the soul part. Which is currently his daughter's soul, who he does not in fact want to kill. If he is still going down that road, it's to save his daughter, not his wife. But I fail to see how Kat's research would help even Annie, for the same reason of it not being a body related problem, and I don't think that's why he's involved. I'm very probably wrong, but for some reason I keep thinking he actually wants to get back at those guys who fooled him into cutting off his hand and almost sucking his daughter's soul out.

Especially considering how literally EVERY time Kat and Tony have interacted or Kat has even been asked about her opinion on him, the response from her has been pure, boiling, seething hatred the likes of which would make Genghis Khan pee himself. I felt the same way. And I wonder why Tom skipped over the period (which would have to be a long time) of Kat changing her mind about Antony. I hope it was for something more than the cheap thrill of shocking both Annie and the audience with this page, that we will get a proper explanation for this shift in Kat's response to Antony. (As people have pointed out, Annie's look indicates that some time has passed since Juliette and Arthur's visit - but that raises the question, in turn, of why it took her until now to find out about Kat and her father bonding. I hope Tom's got a good explanation for this as well.)

Kat is sitting in the same position and wearing the same clothes as when Annie left. The hair growth is the smoking gun here, guys. Unless a few months passed between 1836 and 1837 with Kat just simply not moving or changing her clothes, the time shift during which Annie's hair grew must have occured between 1852 and 1853. Which means both that Kat is a huge guilty secret keeper and Annie is very unobservant.

Anthony's hand is conveniently in his pocket. Who wants to take bets that he will dramatically remove it to reveal he's got a robot hand now?
Also, I'm just waiting for this exchange to reprise itself:
Annie: Father, why didn't you tell me you were doing super secret experiments with my best friend in the world?!
Anthony: Is it your concern?
Annie: Well, I should think that -
Anthony: Let me restate. Is it your business?

I mean, when has she last seen her father smile at anything?I can't understand why people think that Anthony isn't a happy person. Why, just a few chapters ago, we saw him practically laughing his head off at the inevitable worthlessness of stupidity of all his hopes and endeavors! He's such a funny guy! Okay though, in all seriousness, this is a pretty amazing twist. Strangely enough, it's a twist which I knew was coming ever since the beginning of the week, just because he seemed like the only one whom Juliette could be talking about, but I still have no idea how Kat could warm up to him this quickly, so it's actually still a twist. Can't wait to see what happens next!

I don't think Annie is surprised to see Anthony. If a bunch of time has passed, she should know they were working together. She might be surprised to hear Anthony laugh (if he hasn't done so in the months that were skipped). Or, she might be able to see Robot or whatever they are working on, and be impressed by the progress they've made since she last visited Kat's workshop. Or maybe she's just surprised by Kat's haircut. Unless the time skip has been a lot shorter than everyone seems to the no, I expect Annie already knew that Tony was helping Kat.
