Has the question been asked re: whether Coyote has ever messed with the memories of anyone other than Ysengrin? I'm thinking more along the lines of destroyed or consumed (not swallowed and stored, a la Cronus). I'm certainly not advocating mental assault, but as a tactic and a power, it seems odd that he'd only apply it to his right-hand man. Was he that focused on his long game, or was there something inviolable about human minds (possibly because he depends on them?)? Maybe straight up stealing memories is just not fun enough, and he prefers manipulating humans through his „classical“ trickery.

Coyote interacts with surprisingly few characters other than Annie and Ysengrin. We know he can peer in human minds, so I assume he could mess with them as well. I think one reason why he does it only to Ysengrin (as far we know) is because Ys is not interesting enough for him to subtly manipulate him.

Was he that focused on his long game, or was there something inviolable about human minds (possibly because he depends on them?)? I have a couple possible ideas on that front: one thing is, Coyote had lots of powers with extraordinary usefulness, but he's often refused to use them on principle, just to keep things interesting. For example, he could have just destroyed the Court long ago with a single swipe of his paw, but instead he made a promise to leave them alone (more or less) and has only messed with them indirectly (usually through proxies like Ysengrin, the Shadow Menor arguably Loup) ever since. If he had ever wanted to mindwipe anyone other than his toy Ysengrin and himself, it would probably be one of the Medium Squad (Annie, Andrew, Parley), which would not only be blatantly breaking his promise, it also brings me to my other point: ripping someone's memories directly out of their head like we've seen is not a clean process. The victims can always feel the gaps in their memory long after the event, which wasn't a problem when it came to Ysengrin (for several reasons: not only did he not clue into Coyote's involvement, even if he had he'd probably have forgiven it, and even if he didn't do that Coyote wouldn't care in the slightest), but his beloved Fire-head Girl noticing what he was doing would definitely have been bad. He had a hard enough time getting her to put up with his mild antics, revealing that he's okay with lobotomizing people would have screwed up all his plans for her, and made her way less amusing to boot!

In the webcomic Freefall, one of the major characters was transported (without her consent) to a facility that it's a major security breach for her to be aware it exists. They COULD have wiped her memory of the place, but instead the director of the place had her sign a non-disclosure agreement. Why? Because wiping her memory would have left a hole in her memories, which she would have investigated.

A low confidence wild guess is Annie is the real reason Coyote is nearly all powerful. It's why he's insisted on explaining his story, his powers, his use of the ether etc
The sane reason is only hr saw her fall off the bridge that one time and it was something that never happened

It's possible that Kat will build another 'Toc and send it back in time for some reason... but maybe the twist will be things going in the other direction. What if the past robots somehow learned about the 'Toc(s) from some other source? Unless the robots are holding out even when Kat asks their "myth" seems to be lacking specifics and creator-focused. Maybe the source of the "myth" was only a prophecy or something similar. Diego might have built a device* to try to peer into the future and the robots either used it or reinterpreted something he told them about, or there was an unanticipated interaction between the robots' etheric tech bodies and something else, or maybe it was just their etheric tech and their faith. Or maybe something else entirely. *which may or may not have been a robot, possibly one that looks like it's wearing a dress and seems to stand out from the other old models...

the bird has to have existed from before the court. Technically, no. There simply has to be a reason why the robots think the birds are "said to be older than the court itself". In practice, that's ALMOST the same thing. But there's no shortage of ways the robots could be made to believe things that aren't true.

Prediction: on every "Favorite Character" page from Honorable Mention to #2, there will be at least one comment to the effect of "I can't believe (X) is only number (n)!!!"
(I will refrain from making such a comment on each page myself to ensure receipt of a cookie. Only Boxbot would stoop that low.)

It's frightening how easy myths/consensual truth can be construed in human society. Now, consider a race that only think in terms of true. It reminds me of "The Invention of Lying", a world where nobody has "discovered" how to say something that "wasn't"; one mediocre man suddenly can, and he climbs to fame and fortune by just saying "that money is mine", and everybody velieves that, etc, even if there are written records in the contrary, etc. This tells me Robot somehow prys to what his Creator has done with the TicToc, and spreads the message that "The mechanical bird exists thru time, sent by our Angel to the past", and then they would run wild wth that line.

was there something inviolable about human minds (possibly because he depends on them?)? If you ask yourself "Wait, can Coyote do this?" the answer is that I can do whatever I damn well please.

Very tempted to comment "I can't believe (X) in only number 1!!!" on the last one now (Although it's not going to be Ysengrin, so there's a big chance I might not mean that)

The Norns claimed that Kat will meet them again. We will get to see this. It will go via Brinnie.
In at least one of those instances Tony and Brinnie will meet.

the ceramic chip in Robot was placed by 2030 Kat in Robot of Yore with code that unlocks certain memories over time. So Robot will randomly just "know" some thing and act upon it starting with him just "knowing" that Kat is a angel to start the ball rolling on the cult

Bringing a discussion over from Cool Things I Only Noticed On Reread: It does seem rather distinctly unlike Kat to do all that stuff (help with the Arrow, override the robots for the shield protocol)...but what if it wasn't Kat or even Future Kat, but Alternate Timeline Kat, specifically the Kat so sad she had to break time?! I'm picturing Kat as an angst-ridden mad scientist, willing to use everything and everyone around her as just another tool for her designs to get the Annie that she loves back.

nothing Kat does makes sense except that she knows annie. in a life without Annie there she'd probably just be another scientist for the court and maybe help them in their breakthrough in what they are doing ala Tony

Just have to get this out there as Paz has shown up recently and her encounter with the Annies were brought up.
Say Zimmy didn't show up to stick up for them. What would have likely happened next?
Both Annies departing and accepting defeat?
Or the reveal that Paz had more friends who knock both girls unconscious then give them cement shoes?
Kind of serious, but couldn't help my self with the idea that she planned to get both Annies out of the way.:-)

I think Paz would have gone on a bit more about how the Annies need to reflect on their behaviour and then depart. Imo, she never was planning to use violence. She had her two friends there because she was afraid of Annies.

She had her two friends there because she was afraid of Annies. Yeah, some people do have the view that Paz is somehow unreasonable in how she treated Annie and actively wishes her harm or something. Being upset at Annie due to how thoughtless she was being about Kat's obsessions and worries was fairly reasonable, and having a go at Annie for it is a perfectly normal thing for a partner to do, especially for teenagers. It doesn't turn her into someone sinister aiming to "get the Annies out of the way" or wish them harm or something

Not a chance of this happening. Look at Annies starting from the last panel here. They are so out of their depth, Forest Annie especially. When it stops being just for laughs, they stand there with no defences left while Paz's tanks roll down the Champs Elysees. They could indeed burn Paz as a desperation move if put into physical danger. Surely Paz had thought of that? I have a sneaking suspicion that the brunette might be descended from water elementals, and Paz might have heard how fire does not work very well on water. But in any case, Paz did not need to push for a physical fight. Why would she, when a screaming match gives her all the advantage? And it would do Annies no good to start a fight either. That would make them the obvious aggressors, and the Court would almost surely come down on them with full force of the law.

Paz getting snapped like a twig? paz commands a army of spiders and weird looking bugs Those burn easily. Also, people (not necessarily speaking of you) often seem to mistake "being able to talk to animals" with "being able to control animals". Every animal Paz could ask to fight for her might just as well say "Forget, I'm not fighting a fire elemental." Especially considering nearly all animals are afraid of fire.

Paz getting snapped like a twig? paz commands a army of spiders and weird looking bugs The impression I've gotten of Paz is that her ability to talk with animals is more "Doctor Dolittle" than "animal-commanding super-hero". I don't think she could just make the spiders attack people.

Yeah but after she panics to a stand still for 5-15 seconds. But by then she got bit. YA BIT - Chang
